BEAR LOVES MUSIC is a cute, illustrated book. However, there were a lot of typos in the unpublished version. The publisher really needs to consider having this book professionally edited. If this is done, I am certain that the book will be well-received by the public.

This is a cute book about a little bears love of music. Feeling discouraged, she almost gives up until her friends cheer her on. This is a good story about the power of friendship.

'Bear Loves Music', follows a young Bear cub who wants to share her music, with all her friends.

The illustrations are beautiful. The characters are loveable, and cute. But brutally, although this story is great for ages 0-7, there are many books out there that could be used for older students, with more obvious links to issues like friendship, or kindness etc. So, although this book is amazing, there are a lot of other books I might use in a class setting, specifically, if I was working with older pupils.

Which is why, overall, I rated this book 3 stars.

Thank you to netgallery for allowing me to read such a sweet story.

When I saw this book, I had high hopes for it, but in the end, it fell a bit flat. Little Bear plays her flute for her friends and neighbors, and some of them react poorly, but then some of them really like the music. While the illustrations in the book are lovely, and it flows fairly well, it didn't capture the interest of myself or my daughter. And, there's no real story or moral dilemma in the book, so a problem is never solved.

Cute, and something I would enjoy checking out of the library, but not something that I would want to add to my home library.

I was provided an ARC copy of this book through Netgalley. My thanks to the publisher and the author for providing it to me.

This is quite a basic story about Bear who loves to play the flute. She wanders around her neighbourhood playing her melodies, but some neighbours don’t appreciate the disturbance. Just as she gets disheartened, some other animals tell her how much they appreciate her music. And thus, as Bear starts playing her flute again, she spreads happiness to all around her, including the animals who were earlier upset.

There is no outright message or moral in this story. It is just a story that goes at its flow and culminates with a happy ending. I understand how Bear must have felt confident after some animals support her music. But that’s hardly a stand-out point. As regards those animals who complain about Bear’s flute, I quite understand their reasons: one couldn’t hear her own music, one was fishing and the flute drove away the fish, and the third was taking a nap. All quite justifiable reasons to ask Bear to turn it down a notch. Why they had a sudden change of heart when Bear and her music stays the same isn’t quite explained. Essentially, the story could have been much more but ends up as too simplistic.

The illustrations are cute enough and all the animals appear quite charming. But there is one glaring mistake – the instrument that Bear plays in the illustrations isn’t a flute at all! The biggest clue to this lies in how she holds the instrument. A flute is always played while being held transverse the body from the mouth to the shoulder. A recorder is played while being held straight with both hands.

Overall, this was just a decent book and I didn’t find it memorable. Maybe it would be good for libraries but there are better books out there for parents to invest in. As a music lover myself, I expected it to create a bigger impact on me, but sadly, it wasn't so.

My thanks to Clavis Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of “Bear Loves Music”. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

Bear Loves Music is a lovely story about a bear who loves to play music. This story is important because it explains that while not everyone will always appreciate you and your choices, it's worth it as long as it makes you happy and feels complete. It's also taught to respect others and what they're doing; know your surroundings.

It's nice to see the other animals appreciating the music and uplifting bear.

The illustrations are stunning, and as a teacher to young children, I know they'd enjoy it, and it would create a great and essential classroom discussion. I would recommend this book!

Thanks to Netgalley and Clavis for a copy of this story for an honest review.

I can’t tell if the writing was weird or if the kindle file made it harder to read. I didn’t follow the story well, I couldn’t tell why Bear suddenly has a ton of friends who like his music when before no one liked it.

3.5 stars. The overall message of this is very sweet. Little Bear loves playing the flute, but seems to mostly be annoying the people around her, which leaves her discouraged. Eventually she finds friends who like and appreciate her music and blossoms under their kindness, happy to share joy.

The illustrations are fantastic! They're beautiful and detailed and really add to the story. What doesn't work so well is the text. The syntax and phrasing are a little awkward and some of the word choices are a bit unexpected. I'm curious if this was translated from another language. It's also told in present tense, which is a little odd. I definitely wouldn't discourage a student from reading it--it's a lovely book--but I don't know that I'd choose it for story time.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This is a sweet book about music, and I love to encourage music for young readers! My main issues with this book are small, but given that the book was about a flute, I would hope for the illustrations to be of a flute and not a recorder. I also felt like some of the pages were a bit wordy and would not hold the attention of younger readers.

This story about a little bear who loves to play the flute has a simple story line and beautiful, sweet illustrations. I especially loved the one of Little Bear playing the flute while sitting on the potty. Many animals are featured in the story and little ones will enjoy recognizing and naming them.

Over the course of a day, Little Bear’s music disturbs some and enchants others. Through it all, she continues to play and bring critters together.

This is a simple story for a young listener. They will see that some will appreciate an effort while others need time to come around.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

Cute, but far too simplistic – all the animals dislike Little Bear playing her flute, until one does and then they all do, the end. And as has been pointed out elsewhere, *that*'s not a flute.

The musical vibes gets real!

Just love how the characters are having fun with the music they are creating. The artist has done such a good job in illustrating this!

Every child must be given an opportunity to play a musical instrument and this picture book just shows us exactly this.

Thank you, Clavis Publishing, for the advance reading copy.

Bear Loves Music is a wonderful little story about a bear who plays the recorder as she walks through her community and the varied reactions received. She quickly learns that while her music bothers some people, others love and enjoy it. There are several great lessons here: that not everyone appreciates everything in the same way, that you need to be considerate of those around you, and that an improved attitude can change your perception of a situation. The illustrations are charming and colorful, using a slightly muted palette.
