This creative book is a fantastic resource for arts, crafts, and sensory projects that use easy to find items at home. It does not require buying special materials and is a great way to upcycle what most would consider trash for hours of fun. There are many crafts and activities and included and each of them include step by step instructions with pictures, to make it easy for parent and child alike to make the items. Each of them are unique and exciting enough to warrant their own place and many of them are educational for preschoolers, teaching skills like fine motor skills, counting, letter and color recognition, sensory exploration, cutting skills, etc. This is a great home or preschool resource to have for those with littles and worth adding to the collection!
Super cute book with easy creative crafts for little ones. Who knew you could do so much with a cereal or pizza box? Some crafts are definitely geared for little little ones but My favorite thing about this book is what the author calls “extended play”. At the end of the craft step-by-step she tells you how to get more from the craft or make it fun for older children.
My son is never going to let me throw away another box again!
This is the book of my dreams!!
Inspiring activities to do with children that don't cost the earth, indeed by teaching our children about reusing / repurposing they potentially save the earth!
The activités are definitely best suited to younger children, in my opinion the 5 years and younger age group for whom the process, rather than the end product is most important. That said some of the end products have the potential to be pretty cute.
With a step by step guide, lovely illustrated photos and great ideas, this book is sure to inspire!
My thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review.
Great tips for making art via recycled materials and the images and test are presented in a pleasant visual style.
What a colorful and fun way to recycle some used stuff into something worth playing with. I really loved the sensory bags. If your looking for some fun activities for pre-k child without spending a ton of money then try this. The memory card game was also very cute. Teachers and aides may also get some use out of this crafty book. Four stars!
I took away a star because some of the items I did not think should be used for small children. I received a complimentary copy to look at and voluntarily left a review.
This is an excellent book for the modern day society we live in surrounded by iPads and YouTube. Sensory play activities are so much fun! This book has some great activities. I would recommend this to fellow parents and teachers!
Sensory play activities are so much fun for little ones and this book inspires me to make my own play activities for our son. The paper tube caterpillar is one of my favorites.
