A sweet story about love, family and moving on. I enjoyed this quick read. The characters are good and the focus on friendship touching.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
After Ffion loses her husband, and not wanting to stay surrounded by the memories of the times they shared, she decides to come home to her family and the hotel they run, back to Cariad Cove. After so long away, and only coming back occasionally, Ffion gets to know her family again and feels there’s so much she doesn’t know about.
Especially with her sister, who works full-time as well as running her house with two little girls to look after.
She decides to start running, rather than sitting around thinking of the times her husband Graeme was with her and meets Joe….
Joe’s dog Odin, whilst out running on the beach, accidentally knocks Ffion over and as Joe catches up with him, it’s love at first sight for him. Feeling that something isn’t right with her, they become friends, and after a while the two start to organise a charity run, so that they can raise much needed funds for the local sanctuary that houses different animals.
Will Ffion think about falling in love again or will the direction she’s going in be away from Joe?
An emotional read.
A wonderful story of Ffion, a young widow, who returns to her native Wales (explains some of the names) after the death of her husband. She meets Joe, a PE school teacher and his lovable dog Odin, when Odin crashes into her chasing a Frisbee. Dragged a bit in the middle, but basically a book that was hard to put down. Really enjoyed this one and would highly recommend it.
I wasn’t too sure of this book for the first few pages but loved it. The story of recovery from grief and new beginnings aided by a loving family and friend was set in Wales and developed at a gentle pace, with romance blossoming by the end. A very enjoyable read.
Ohh i really enjoyed this book, i couldn't put it down, interesting story and likable characters,,thougg i think Mari needs a book next
This one was bittersweet. But I did love the second chance that Ffion finds. This story was a story of healing and mending a broken heart. I did cry while reading this one, but I also laughed and celebrated with Ffion.
Ffion is back home in Cariad Cove after losing her Husband. She meets Joe when his dog runs in to her on the beach, although the next few times she sees him she gets the wrong impression. She is still struggling with her grief, so will they have a chance together?
I particularly liked the running aspect of the book.
An emotional read at times, but I did enjoy reading it.
