Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, I absolutely devoured this book. I read the entire book very quickly and immediately bought the rest in the book series, including the two small short stories.

I love the characters and their interactions with one another but more importantly, I love the world that they are in and the adventures that they are on. This book is very fast paced from start to finish and keeps you glued to it the entire time.

I love the sisters. They have just enough in common to say its obvious that they are twins but a lot different as well that shows that they grew up away from one another. I like the growing relationship between Little Bird and Ghost (keeping some spoilers) but I especially love Kotosh and Little Fish.

Absolutely fantastic read and Highly recommend to Fantasy lovers that Love a great fast paced series.

I love how so many things happened in the book. I could not keep myself from the book because it was so good

This was a quick read for me, and I feel neutral about the book, but I think it lacks something and the characters need more nuance so that we as readers can connect to them.

I don’t what what this book is missing to be honest. But it’s something. I wasn’t very interested in this whole book to be honest. And I don’t know if it’s just a timing thing for me personally or what it is. I didn’t really bond with any of the characters and that’s a big miss for me.

I thought it was a good and quick read. Loved how it was build and the storyline. But i wasn’t in it in some way. I could’t get through and i was picking it up and then left is for a few days.

I really enjoyed the writing and I really felt like the author spent 9 years developing this story. However, I just didn't like the characters.

I absolutely loved the description of the book it sounded so interesting and I couldn’t wait to read it however i did find the description quite misleading.

From the start i wasn’t really drawn to any of the characters at all, it felt like i couldn’t connect with any of them but i was hooked from the start which lead me to read more of the book.

I was so excited to meet the twin sister who was meant to marry the tyrant who is just like her father but as the book went on i found myself less and less interested in the plot and i just felt like it lacked something!

However, I absolutely loved Meira which surprised me as I didn’t really like the rest of the characters. I also found it very refreshing that for once the characters weren’t 16 or 17 but 200 year olds who were more mature.

Overall, i honestly don’t remember much of the plot which is why my review is so plain but i do remember i enjoyed it. I feel like this book lacks something and the characters need more depth to them so that we can connect to them as readers but this was a quick read for me and i am neutral about this book ❤️💜

I think this story has a lot of potential but it missed its mark. It was a nice debut for the duology, but it lacked something. The premise was good but for some reason I couldn't really care about the plot or characters, more so when one of the main characters kept making dumb and reckless decisions and expected everyone to forgive and support her, no matter what. The other main character was what I usually describe as bread without salt, meaning she didn't have any thing that gave her depth as a character, even with everything we were told she had gone through. Same for their friends. They seemed nice enough, but I don't really care, specially when they were constantly bickering over the second main character.

I also didn't really enjoy the fact that there was too much going on at once. They didn't solve any of their problems before jumping to the next and it resulted on a lot of unanswered questions by the time I finish the book, answers I hope we have over the course of the next installment. That said, I will probably be reading the next book.

Miera and Casimir are adventurous step sibling fae royalty who end up on a mission to rescue Miera’s twin from her biological tyrant father. The twist though is that her twin, Rina, doesn’t even know that Miera exists and Rina is just now discovering who she is and who she wants to be as she is being forced into an unwelcome marriage.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Miera and Casimir and how that changes once Rina and a mysterious pirate enter the picture. I also like the element that some but not all fae have type of magical affinity- some types being more desirable than others.
The world-building is okay, I’m not entirely sure I understand how the different kingdoms interact with each other. There are definitely fun and creative scenes throughout the novel. All in all I enjoyed the read and am curious to find out where the story goes in the second book of the Daughters of Elydon series. 3 stars.

DNF at 10%

I was super intrigued by the premise, but within the prologue I could tell this wasn't a book that I was going to enjoy. It is actually a story about fae, which I was not aware of from the premise (tbh I was really hoping there would be a mermaid element, but alas), and the characters were all rather annoying. I was hoping that it would improve, but it just didn't happen. There were a lot of tropes, and I just didn't have hope based on the prose/writing style that the story would end up doing something interesting with them.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read an ARC of The Lost Sister!!!

I couldn’t really get into this book. I don’t know why. Great world building, but I just never clicked with this book like I do others.

The beginning of this story is very interesting. I enjoy how the authors write the characters and how these characters interact. Definitely seems like something I need to have a physical copy of as a trophy on my shelf, and thereby something I can force everyone I know to read it.

The premise is great but it wasn’t executed very well. I think I would have enjoyed a little bit more background about the creatures and their magic. Thank you for gifting me this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a hard DNF. I just couldn’t get into it and actually found it kind of frustrating right off the bat. The storytelling was a little clumsy. The way of giving the reader info was not very smooth. I also felt like the reader was dropped into a book that had already been going on for about 10 chapters. Like missing the first part of a movie. I also had trouble matching what I was seeing in the story with what I understood from the synopsis. Overall, just not for me.

I saw this book description and was instantly excited to send in a request and read it. It sounded exciting, enthralling, something I could truly enjoy reading. Within the first chapter, I knew I was in for disappointment. However, I pushed on and wanted to give it a try. Sometimes books take a little while to get going and live up to their hype. Unfortunately, that never happened. I did not like the characters.... at all. There was the typical tall, quiet, growly, "dark past" guy. There was also the girl who tried too hard to put a "girl power" front on. Then there is a princess who is being challenged to have character growth. Obviously some badies are thrown in for a little extra razzle dazzle. The world building was great, it was the characters that make my rating so low. They were just unbelievable. This book also poked at some of my pet peeves. I find it rather obnoxious when characters smirk, especially when they smirk a lot in situations that do not need a smirk in them. I actually went through and counted how many times certain words were used, and I think the author or editor could have replaced some of them with something better.
Smirk/ed/s count: 37 times
Growl/ed count: 34 times
Female/s count: 86 times
Male/s count: 203 times
As mentioned above, the world building was done wonderfully. The characters were simply not my style. They rubbed the wrong way. I am willing to give this author another chance in the future to see how they grow. I always enjoy seeing growth in authors and seeing where they go and what wonderful worlds they create.
Many thanks to the publisher for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Rina and Meira was separated at birth. Rina was raised by their megalomaniac father and has been confined in their kingdom. Meira was desperate to save her sister whether she come willingly or not, she's going to come and get her.

I honestly thought that the adventure of this book was solely focused on Meira rescuing Rina, but it goes beyond that. I think the book has a potential but the world building is a bit lacking. There's little information about faes or the monsters/species that were mentioned in the book.

It was very enjoyable for me still, I love the adventures and the characters. The conflicts that arise was easily resolved but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I will definitely read the second book because I can't get enough of Casimir and I can't help but get curious of the adventures that follows. Hopefully, the second book will be better and will tie the end of the duology perfectly.

I would recommend this for readers who are looking for a fantasy that's an easy read and can be read in one sitting.

★★★★/5 stars!!

"Traitors don’t deserve swift deaths."

-Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an e-ARC.-

The story starts of sort of slow. We were introduced to two twins named Meira and Rina.

Rina was stucked with her wicked father who betrothed her to a person she doesn't love.

Meira on the other hand was on a mission to rescue her twin sister.

This story was so awesome! I also love the characters. Specially Kotosh. Definitely will read the sequel of this book.

Plot: ★★★★/5
Characters: ★★★★★/5
Pacing: ★★★/5
Overall: ★★★★/5 stars!!

I was given the wonderful opportunity to get an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley.
This book had everything I wanted of it, Fae, Sea-faring folk, and Enemies to lovers. What else could you ask for?
Oh, World-building you ask? yep, it's got that, and done so beautifully,
Meira and Rina's relationship is wonderful, and those twists and turns will keep you guessing.
It did get a bit slow in some parts, but
though it did get slow in some parts.
I'm definitely eager to get my hands on book two.

I am so conflicted with this book!! There is so much potential here but I feel that while this book was enjoyable, it missed the mark of ✨what it could have been✨ I’m very middle of the road with it hence the right in the middle rating. I go back and forth with the pros and cons of this book so I’m going to try and break it down to make sure I convey all of my thoughts.

~Worldbuilding~
The first thing I encountered when I started reading this book was the worldbuilding and I LOVED it. The world was magical with different well thought out cultures and customs. I enjoyed seeing the differences between Meira’s and Rina’s worlds and discovering the land of Theria ❤️

~Characters~
I loved the idea of so many of these characters but I failed to connect strongly with any of them. A strong brash water fae. A protective skilled prince that can merge with shadows. A trapped princess trying to fight against the iron grip of her tyrant father. A childhood friend choosing between duty and those he cares about. Don’t those sound freaking amazing?? Yes, the answer is yes, and at times they were great but I wish we could’ve delved a bit deeper and seen more complexity and growth in these characters.

~Plot~
The plot started out really well with multiple rescue missions. I was pretty hooked straight off the bat. And it didn’t let up, conflict after conflict plaguing the group. But as the story continued, more and more the resolutions seemed…too easy. I was never convinced that something bad would happen to the characters or that they wouldn’t find their way out. I feel like the authors did a good job setting up an event and the anticipation for it, but were missing key components for the climaxes.

Also some of my favorite parts of the book were the romantic tension scenes between the twins and their respective love interests. I was left wanting more!! AHH those moments were far too short for me. But to be fair, this is a high fantasy adventure, not a romance so I’ll take what I can get 😂

~Writing~
The writing was great and it’s obvious these authors have had some practice. I have but one, nit-picky pet peeve. It’s completely subjective and won’t impact everyone’s enjoyment of the book. I’m not a fan of modern language in high fantasy settings. Sometimes the tone and grammar sounded as if they were contemporary characters living in a fantasy world. And of course, if that’s how the people of Theria speak then that’s valid but it’s just not my favorite. It tends to break my immersion.

Read if you enjoy:
🌊Sea adventures
👯‍♀️Long lost twins
🧚Fae magic
💗Enemies to lovers
🤞Fated mates (maybe? to be discovered in book 2)
💔Unrequited love
✊Themes of empowerment

A fast paced sea-faring, action packed fantasy.

I really enjoyed this book, I enjoyed meeting all the characters, especially Casimir and Kotosh *swoon*
Though I felt they had no background or depth. Like where is the information on the fae and other beings? What types of magic are there and why are some stronger than others? Why do they have longer lifespans? Why are fae baby so rare? Why is certain types of magic so rare? How does the magic work? I just had so many questions about this book.

Which I'm sure most of my questions will be answered in book two.

The world building, while most of it was at sea, was great! We had amazing sunrises and stinky hot jungles which I felt I was right along side with them.

Also can we mention that cliffhanger?!!!
What a way to end a book! I loved it but also i hate it as I have to wait for book 2 😂

Special thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for a free, electronic ARC of this novel received in exchang
