Such a gorgeous book!
I was so happy to catch up with Cat and Jean-Luc and the gang, it’s really like catching up with old friends!
A beautiful setting and plenty of twists kept me enthralled throughout!
As always I just wanted to step into the book, the amazing descriptions of the food and location had me longing to jump onto a plane and head off to sunny Tuscany!
I didn't realise this was the 5th and last book in the series, I read it as a standalone. The plot itself was fairly simple - two folk getting married, but I just couldn't quite get into the storyline at all, it seemed very dragged out with lots of filler. Nice main characters though.
The Parson sisters are back for the fifth and final installment of The Holiday Romance series. A surprise proposal has both Sarah and Cat, along with their significant others, heading to Tuscany. They decide to use the trip to not only host a wedding but a 40th birthday celebration but nothing is without complication.
I really enjoyed having all of these characters back together for one last book. It’s sad that the series is over but that’s also a good excuse to reread it from the beginning. Although A Wedding in Tuscany could be read as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend reading the rest of the series first. It helps to give valuable background information and really shows the personal development of each of the characters, especially the sisters.
I look forward to rereading the whole series and seeing what author Sandy Barker writes next.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter!
A Wedding in Tuscany is the latest novel from Sandy Barker and I loved it. It’s pure escapism as we join Cat and her family and friends in the gorgeous Tuscan countryside. We’re reunited with some of our favourite characters and you can guarantee there will be plenty of fun, frolics and drama. This book was a joy to read and is full of love and laughter, I can highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley, One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.
I didn’t realise this book was the last of a series but not having read the others didn’t detract from this heart warming story of love, family and friendship. I loved the relationship between the sisters, Cat and Sarah as well as the beautiful setting of the rolling countryside of Tuscany. Throw in a wedding and you e got a perfect summer read!
This book is a continuation of a series and there's just enough information within it to follow what has happened in previous books. The story is told from two viewpoints and this keeps the plot moving. The characters are likeable and their respective internal conflict is relatable. I found the book enjoyable and easy to follow and would have found it easier to enjoy had I read the others in the series and familiarised myself with the characters' journey to date.
A delicious romp through the glorious Tuscan countryside along with adorable sisters Sarah and Cat and their assorted friends and family. A surprise wedding and 40th birthday celebration throws this wonderfully quirky and loveable cast of characters together in the gorgeous Italian sunshine. We very quickly find ourselves immersed in their lives and loves. Sheer escapism, full of romance, humour, friendship and fun. Loved this book
Book 5 in this series and it doesn’t disappoint.
Sarah is about to turn the big 40, so boyfriend Josh decides to throw a party with all her friends and family in Tuscany. When Jean Luc proposes to Cat, they decide to get married in Tuscany the day after Sarah celebrates her fortieth. As the clock counts down to their big day, can they keep mischief and mayhem at bay?
Enjoyable and entertaining. This was a delightful read.
Slow start but when the story got going, nice read. I liked the setting and hoped for more description and sense of place.
This is such a beautiful book!!! The sitting is exquisite and the story is so lovely!!! I adore Sandy Barker’s books, I always find them captivating and I can never put them down
This was a delightful book to read, full of love, laughter, friendships and so much more.
Out story focuses on the two Parsons sisters, Sarah who is approaching her 40th birthday, and Catherine who has just been proposed to by the love of her life, Jean-Luc.
Sarah's boyfriend has booked a surprise holiday in Tuscany for her birthday, Catherine and Jean-Luc decide that will be when they get married. All their nearest and dearest friends will be there, so what better time to have a double celebration.
Despite there being several spanners in the works, both the 40th birthday celebrations and the wedding go off without too much disaster.
This book was full of love, misunderstandings, mishaps, a few tears (maybe that was just me), laughter, friendships, but mostly love. If you are looking for a feel good read with holiday and summer vibes, this is the book for you.
It was a perfect easy, fast paced, afternoon read for me. The writing was simple and the characters quite raw and real. And Im quite happy that they got their perfect HEA.
I have seriously loved this Holiday Romance series by Sandy Barker and I'm so sad to see that this will be the final book. But that just means that we hopefully have some great new stories coming our way! I'm pretty sure that the stories in this series got better with each new release! I really loved this story - and I loved escaping to Tuscany! It was also nice to catch up with some of the other characters from throughout this series! Sarah's story began at the beginning of this series, and ending the series with her story was a great conclusion! Don't miss this entire series!
This is book #5 of The Holiday Romance Series but I read it as a standalone and didn’t feel like I was missing a beat. Sisters Sarah and Cat have always been close, but when Cat gets engaged, they become even closer while planning Cat’s wedding and Sarah’s 40th birthday celebration. This was a nice fluffy read, that had me dreaming of visiting Tuscany!
This is the first book I have read from that author and the beginning of many more!
I was attracted to the fact that the book took place in Tuscany and since I was lucky enough to have had a holiday with friends in Tuscany years ago I simply wanted to go back there.... This book delivered it all for me, romance in the most beautifully described Tuscany backdrop, what is there to dislike?
I am off to reading the series from the beginning! Well done!
this is the last book in a series, I had not read the other books and found it easy to follow, it is about 2 sisters one of whom is getting married in Tuscany.
The Parsons sisters are back! I've read and enjoyed all of the previous books in this series, chronicling the travels and love lives of Sarah and Cat Parsons, and this one is a fitting end to the saga. So good to meet up with the characters from the previous books, and to see everyone get the happy endings they deserve (I am a sucker for them!).
As ever, Sandy Barker has written a heartfelt, witty tale about love, family and female friendships, this time set in the gorgeous scenery of Tuscany. She captures the scenery, the food and the people perfectly. So crack open a bottle of Chianti and dive in! Recommended for anyone who loves travel, romance (and sex!), and laughter.
I'm absolutely gutted to discover that this fantastic book is the last in what has been a truly wonderful series.
But what a way to go out. I'm not willing to comment how it may work as a standalone, but if you have been reading all the other books in the series, this is 100% a must read.
All our favourite characters are back, it's told between Cat and Sarah's view points, culminating with a memorable week in Tuscany to celebrate Sarah's 40th, and given it's in the title, fairly sure saying that Cat will be getting married isn't a spoiler.
How good it is to see everyone for a fabulous week in Tuscany that isn't without it's drama (even the prologue is dramatic),, funny, but also at times quite touching too.
Both sisters have big things looming and both aren't being entirely true about their feelings, but they are also having trouble being honest with themselves. so when the realisations come, you are completely invested in them.
This is such an enjoyable book, with it's stunning location, and it's overall themes of love in all of its guises, I just loved it so so much.
And the ending its even better than I could have hoped for, other than the fact that I want more, I don't want it ending there, but regardless, what I do know is no matter what Sandy Barker releases next I will definitely be reading it. She is between this series and her standalones, a complete and utter must read author for me now.
Just wonderful!
Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
In this final instalment in the series, we view the story through the lenses of Aussie sisters Sarah and Cat. If you want to reunite with a great cast of characters and you are wanting a great escape to sunny climates this is exactly the book you will want to read. You will be so glad you did! The premise of this book sounded interesting from the very beginning. It was a quick, easy read and enjoyable!
The Parsons sisters are all loved up. Sarah has everything she ever wished for; she lives with her gorgeous boyfriend and their cat in Sydney and life couldn’t be better. If only she wasn’t so anxious about turning the big 4 0. Meanwhile Cat is happily loved-up with Jean-Luc, except she lives in London, and he lives in Paris. She loves their long-distance relationship so why is she worrying about their future. But a surprise wedding proposal is about to change everything for these sisters. And with all their family and friends gathering at a vineyard in Tuscany to celebrate, love, laughter and mayhem are about to ensue.
Warmth and fluffy read during a reading slump. It's a story of three sisters, their family, their friendships. I envy them for what they have. It's a quick, warm, fun read! All of the characters here are likable, funny, and relatable. I somehow enjoy my time reading this book (better than I thought!)
Thank you Netgalley for the e-ARC!
