The book was written in a relatable way and could be a beacon of how to do many. The book hit home in so many ways and will likely be read a few times to get more and more out of it

"Confidence Booster: How to Boost Confidence, Set Boundaries and Practice Self-Care in the Changing Work World" by Helene Lerner is a timely and insightful guide that addresses the unique challenges faced by working women in the wake of the pandemic. Lerner's book is a practical roadmap to self-empowerment and personal growth.

The book's strength lies in its five-step program, which is both practical and adaptable to individual circumstances. Lerner's approach is not prescriptive but one which encourages reflection and personalization. The steps are designed to help readers identify barriers to confidence, set healthy boundaries, and prioritize self-care while meeting the demands of a hybrid work environment.

Lerner's blends her extensive experience as a workplace consultant with relatable anecdotes with advice. The narrative is engaging, filled with inspiring quotes and success stories that resonate with the reader's own experiences.

It's a book that doesn't just understand the reader's struggles but also one that celebrates their potential for resilience and success.

Although this book is primarily aimed at women, its lessons are universal.

Anyone looking to navigate the complexities of modern work life with greater confidence and clarity will find value in Lerner's wisdom. It's a concise read, but its impact is profound, making it a must-have on the bookshelves of professionals striving to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

enjoyed reading this little book; it's full of helpful information on navigating through these turbulent times. I found the positive affirmations plus the little exercises on how to address certain situations to be very useful. Self-Care is vital to our well-being, especially as negativity seems to be bombarding us constantly, it's not a luxury it's become a necessity because if we don't take care of ourselves who will?
I hope other readers will find this book as helpful as I have

Confidence Booster is a small guide-book with the purpose to boost women's confidence mostly at work. It’s a really “contemporary” book because due to the pandemic people at home get to understand a lot of things: such as they have a life other than a job, and since by doing a lot of smartwork the two aspects overlapped: I heard about a lot of colleagues not being able to discriminate from working time to life time.
In the pandemic years women with a job were the most at a disadvantage, as always I would say.
The book is divided into two parts: in the first one, I took a lot of notes because this part is actually really useful: 5 steps to boost confidence. I am in the let it go phase, I am too tired of me suggesting things and being turned off, but a male colleague suggesting the same identical thing (listened from me) and being listened to and congratulated for the smart suggestion… meh.
I found the second part a bit strange. In this part there are a lot of quotes, most of them are directly from the author. I found this really strange because I expected quotes from other people, there are but they are really few, and not so many directly from her because in the first part she already quotes others of her book.
This book really takes a little time to read: in one evening I finished it, I really appreciated it for being “essential”. I am pondering if it can be useful to anyone but I think that it is addressed to women with a job, basically.

I absolutely loved the book I'm a woman that felt she had very little power was most certainly running on low with no self worth. This book helps you tackle these situations head on and gives you a completely different mindset. I'd highly recommend to any woman that is struggling to give this a read.

A really useful toolkit of a book to help women in the post-pandemic world of work. A great reminder for self-care and how to centre yourself and take care and tune into your own need. highly recommend.

This was a good, quick and easy read. However, I found it to be very specific and didnt really apply to me. It's also very specific to the pandemic so over time it might not be relevant. Otherwise it was okay for what it is.

Thank you to the publishers for sending me this ARC through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review!

The first part of this book is targeted for the audience of women in the hybrid workplace who struggle to confront their boss. This is incredibly specific and unrelatable to my current situation. Prior to reading this section, I have easily confronted my boss to fit my personal needs, so this information is not necessary for me anyway. I would only recommend reading this part if the unique situation of struggling to talk to your boss during the pandemic is what you find yourself in. That being said, this book is not likely to stand the test of time as it caters to personal issues that women have to face in the workplace during the pandemic.

The next part of the book is much more helpful with general self-care tactics, although pandemic related situations are used to explain these tactics. It reminded me that I do need to focus on taking care of myself and I even implemented some of the tactics immediately after reading! I definitely recommend reading this part for self-care reminders. Overall, this book was a quick, easy, and enjoyable read, but not meant for everyone.

Short and fast read.

I enjoyed some of the Motivational Quotes and the 5 Steps Approach provided by the author. The book went by really fast, and anyone who enjoy coaching and positive readings would enjoy as a morning read to prepare for the day. However, it did feel a lot like a summary of others of the author's works, being constantly brought up.

I received a free digital ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review
