This book was easy to read but I did go back and forth with this book. There were parts that I really loved and then there were parts that I really just couldn’t bring myself to like and it almost caused me to put the book down.
I wanted to like this so, so desperately. Something about this just didn't work for me, which is a real bummer. Overall, this book is interesting and funny, and genuinely all of the women are incredibly compelling. I just wasn't caught by the story, you know? It was good and I would recommend it, but something about this just didn't click for me.
how to fall out of love madly is essentially a love letter written to young adults, and within this group, women. it follows 3 main protagonists: joy, annie, and celine, as they navigate the difficult waters of emerging into adulthood during the modern era. from struggles concerning relationships (both romantic and platonic), professionalism, gender, and sense of self-worth, we watch these women grow as they wrangle and fight what society throws at them.
as a young adult and a woman, i enjoyed this book through and through. it sometimes can be cliche or cheesy when authors reference certain things (such as online dating/tinder, etc) but i thought this book handled such things with class. i found myself nodding along with the reactions of the characters, because i related to the story and what these women were going through so deeply. the transition into adulthood can be a scary process, so it was reassuring to see some of my own experiences reflected throughout this novel, especially dating experiences and the aftermath from disappointment. the writing was raw, relatable, funny, and its importance cannot be overstated. no one should ever settle or alter their sense of self-worth, and this book was a reminder that while it happens often, it's important to be aware to prevent it from happening in the future. i really needed the call-out, but the delivery was absolutely seamless. this was a quick read, and i think a lot of people will really enjoy it and its content!

I truly enjoyed reading How to Fall Out of Love Madly.
I was so engaged in the story and characters, enjoyed the storyline throughout the book. It kept me reading until the very end.
Jana Casale has a writing style that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with.
I found the the pacing perfect and the character development on point!
The novel is engrossing and intriguing with a plot that was wonderfully thought of.
The author certainly knows how to grab your attention from the start and draws you into the story.
Random House|The Dial Press,
Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
I will post my review closer to pub date.
I found this book easy to read and I very much enjoyed Annie's storyline. However, I found it too saturated in white liberal feminist pandering. I think the pieces about self-hatred were an interesting part of the book because it is so engrained in women to hate ourselves, but I wish it was resolved in a better way. Thank you to NetGalley and the editor for sending me the ARC of this book!
