This was a really simple and easy to use guide. The quotes and prompts were quick and easy, but still very thought provoking. I appreciated that they were quick enough to do before getting started on my day, but thoughtful enough that I still felt like I got a lot out of it.
Thank you net galley for allowing me to read this in return for an honest review.
I love self help type books , they always interest me abs this was no different. Everyone is advising you to meditate more and thus helps add it into your morning routine
This copy was kindly provided to me by Netgalley and the publisher for review. All opinions are my own.
I really loved this morning meditations journal/book. The quotes are beautiful , the prompts are thought provoking but not too much as to overload yourself as you just wake up
I wish I had been able to finish it before download expired but I also think this is a great one to own a physical copy of.
Rise like a sun - This is a nice planner. you wake up and keep the things simple. plan for the day on a positive note with the hellp of this planner. the book is beautiful from inside and poses nice questions to ponder on.
Remember - Life is beautiful ! a nice book. .
Thank you Netgalley for the e-copy!
A beautiful book to help you reflect everyday. As a very restless person, I tried to maintain a journal several times but always ran out of patience. This one seemed exactly my type, filled with wise statements and thought provoking questions. Knowing answers to questions ground me and assist me in organizing my thoughts. So, I really liked it. I initially thought this book will provide guidance on how to meditate in the morning, maybe some breathing exercises but it couldn't be more different from that. Anyways, I found it to my liking. The colors were so soft and soothing that matched with the calming tone. I will buy the physical copy because you can't make the best use of a journel in digital copy.
To me this is more like morning wisdoms than actual meditations as they are more inclined to make you ponder. They might be useful as journaling prompts for some but unfortunately they didn’t resonate or inspire me personally. I wish it felt more organized. Instead of just by season I wish it were by topic as well.
What a refreshing way to start your morning! Simple (in the best possible way. Who wants complex when they first wake up) meditations & journal questions to start your day in the right frame of mind.
A handy book to help you set intentions fir your day. Across a double page there’s something to think about and a prompt to journal your thoughts and intentions. The presentation in pastel colours is inviting.
What a fun read / positive experience! I really enjoyed all of the inspirational messages and the thought provoking questions posed to the reader each day.
I’m not sure the title of morning meditations jives with my experience as it was more of journal prompts and thought provoking statements, but I used the book for a few days to incorporate into my meditation practice and really enjoyed my experiences!
This book is a workbook/journal of sorts. Allowing the read to digest the mantras, then write how they would work on that aspect of their life.
I read the digital copy, but I would definitely recommend purchasing an actual copy so you can fill in your thoughts and feelings.
The book is very thought provoking. It is beautiful to look at and calming.
If your aim is to take some time for yourself each day and really focus on where you are/where you want to be, I highly recommend this book.
I love the idea of this book! I think the journal prompts help to inspire you to take action which I certainly need. I find myself rushing through everything in my day to day life and this book helped me to slow down a bit to reflect and enjoy small moments. We all want to create a better present and future for ourselves and anything that helps us accomplish that is worth looking into. It is a challenge to get off auto-pilot but when you do it is an awesome feeling.
I did find it hard to use in the digital format. A physical copy is definitely best so you can write in it. Also, as a lot of people are trying not to pick up their phone first thing in the morning, having the digital copy on your phone makes it hard to stay away. From the title I thought it would be a daily thing but each season does not have enough entries for it to be used daily.
Such a beautiful book - I am forever grateful that I get sent books to review and I received this in a digital version - but I definitely want to get the physical copy of this one!
I love that the book is broken down seasonally, with reflections relevant to each season, which can be started at any time of the year if you flip to the season you are currently in. Each entry contains a quote, followed by a question which asks you to reflect on something. There is plenty of space to write daily without feeling overwhelmed and the book is visually beautiful. The suggestion is that you do this reflection in the morning, which is a great way of starting your day.
This is an excellent example of a journal and would be a great place to start if you are interested in journaling for your mental health.
Thank you Netgalley and Quarto Publications for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an unbiased review!
Please note, I am not reviewing this as a book/work of literature, but as a tool/workbook.
Personally, I am re-igniting my journalling habits this year, and this book was really intriguing to me. I really enjoy that there is a quote, and then also a journalling prompt for self reflection and then there is also a page of space to write. I think the one page may be too little for a journal entry, as I know when I'm feeling inspired I can take up more space - so I hope that the hard copy will perhaps have some extra pages or the ability to add more pages. The seasonal breakdown was interesting too - on one hand, I enjoy how they have seasonal themes and prompts and on the other hand, it feels restrictive. I do enjoy that the seasons tend to change us and our mentality slightly, so those prompts are very seasonally focused which are very helpful that way. On the other hand, this book starts in Spring, and so I would feel like I couldn't pick it up until Spring whereas right now, where I live, it is winter.
I love the color scheme and the messaging overall, and think it is in general a very calming feel! I may just grab a hard copy for myself :)
Full disclosure; I received this ARC from netgalley and Quarto Publications in exchange for an unbiased review. Thank you for this opportunity. ''
There are as many styles of mediation as there are seasons in a person's life. Quarto offers the reader an affirmative approach for a practicioner. The left page of the journal provides an essay usually under 100 words. The text speaks directly to the reader, using metaphors from nature to help an individual transform their thinking to more wholesome paths. The journal is divided into the 4 seasons. The printed page is illustrated with line drawings, that subtly change colors that reflect seasonal change. On the right, the reader is asked a question pertaining to the essay. The thoughts are non-sectarian. The intent is to provide a method to from positive habits within a world of increasing stress and chaos. Neither the author(s) or the illustrator(s) are given credit for the text.
The slight book is a reworking of material previously published in 2020 and 2021. (Sunrise Gratitude and Morning Meditations, respectively)
Useful for those entering into the practice of meditation.
A very lovely way to start your day. Each day you find a meditative short reading with a thoughtful question. This book provides a way for you to start your day on the right path. Highly recommend to those that may find it hard to meditate to audio.
Morning Meditations is a beautiful book which is full of lovely messages and journal prompts. The book is split into four sections, one for each season, and each page has a inspiring message which is something to contemplate over in the mornings along with a journal prompt and a page of lines to complete the task.
The book is very pretty to look at with lovely patterns and graduated illustrations throughout the book. Some pages the words are more difficult to read because of the colour of the writing but generally it's a beautiful book that would be perfect for some self care time in the morning. This is a lovely book to spend some time with in the mornings and it would also make a great present.
This is a lovely book which I am trying to do each day. It is quite difficult though as its digital and to do the workbook/journal it would be lovely to have a hard copy.
the meditations set the tone for my day and so far have had a calming effect on me
This is a lovely journal that allows for both guided meditation and journaling. I found the format easy and approachable. The color and design was lovely. Each meditation was short and accessible. The journaling space was a bonus in my opinion. This is a book for self care and promoting well being.
The format of going by seasons is interesting. It is winter currently and the first section is spring, but as I was going through the entire book in one day, to review it, the seasonality wasn't an issue and I think once I own a physical copy of this book it will be easy to start the meditations in sync with the presentation.
I think this book will serve as a good starting point and helpful book for self-reflection.
Strongly recommended.
My thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing group for this digital review copy. This is my honest review.
**Thank you for the advance copy! All opinions are my own.**
4 stars. Beautiful, lyrical, and engaging.
This is a guided meditation journal with thought-provoking questions and beautiful design. It features motivational quotes that also double as a writing prompt, and there is ample space on the opposite page to jot down a few reflections.
I greatly appreciated the theme of "seasons," but I do wish the prompts were more clearly ordered. The prompts were separated into different sections and seemed as though they were separated by theme (i.e. Fall = change, Summer = revitalization, Spring = growing, Winter = rest). But not all prompts seemed so ordered. For example, in the "Summer" section, there was a prompt about "pushing past discomfort in order to grow." I thought this prompt belonged better in the "Spring" section. In my opinion, "Summer" prompts should be more energizing and refreshing.
Overall, the colors are just gorgeous, and found myself wishing I had a physical copy to journal in!
I'm not reviewing this book as a work of literature, but rather as a tool for wellbeing and self-care practices.
"Morning Meditations" is a very aesthetically pleasing workbook, filled with colours and very insta-friendly sections. It helps users create a routine around guided writing/journalling that many people find helpful. Most of the prompts are quite original, if compared to what you can find in other such publications.
I think many people will find working with this journal interesting and helpful, and I will be recommending it to my clients who want to start their days more grounded and couldn't tap into the practice of the morning pages or non-guided journaling.
