I am a sucker for a good billionaire romance and when I read the synopsis for this book I was really intrigued. This story has another trope that I do not normally love but it plays out differently in this book and I was pleasantly surprised.
What I loved:
- The Boys, Harrison is in town to hang out with his buddies from college and they are hilarious and I'm psyched they are the focus of the series cause they were great
- Steam Level, its not the steamiest book but I was not disappointed with how much was included
- "Real" Harrison, its refreshing when he turns off the "playboy" persona and really shows Sadie who he is
- Sadie's reading obsession, she is an avid reader like myself and I found myself so jealous of her getting paid to sit at the beach shop during the offseason and just read
Overall I really enjoyed this book, I had a hard time putting it down once I got into it and finished it in a day. There is a lot of great humor, spice and character development and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series and get to know the other boys better. Anyone who likes billionaire/enemies to lover romances consider reading this book and bonus if you like it there is an entire series to binge!
Billionaire Harrison Avery always gets what he wants, and as soon as he sees Siena Butler, he’s desperate to have her. Too bad Siena has sworn off all men, especially gorgeous arrogant ones. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. Lane Hart is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book
Cute romance with a pinch of spice! Perfect beach read or quick weekend read.
Sweet, hurting, down to earth Siena meets billionaire and CEO of the app HEA Harrison. At a time where Siena has sworn off men and Harrison is not looking for a relationship, fate decides it has better plans. The tension between Harrison and Siena was the perfect build up to the ending of the book. The ending really had me like 😍😍😍
I loved all the characters in this book. The group of college friends was my favorite. They were all so different. Siena was also very relatable. I am looking forward to the future books in this series!
A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC for my honest review.
Loved this book!!! The characters were so love-able. I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend! Will recommend to my friends!!
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I read this book in one sitting, so if you are looking for a quick read, this is perfect. Interesting characters and I can see how the author is setting up the next books in the series.
Book 1 of the Playboy Billionaire Club is an enemies-to-lovers story about a simple small-town girl with a secret and an overworked playboy billionaire with a wake-up call.
Siena Butler is done with men. After being used and ghosted by a man she met on a dating app, she plans to take one day at a time and get through life as best as she can. Until cocky and entitled Billionaire Harrison Avery bursts into the beach shop where she works and proceeds to hit on her and insult her intelligence. What she does next spurs a social media post gone viral that could ruin his life.
Harrison Avery is used to women falling all over him for his looks and mostly his money, but feisty Siena Butler is not like any other woman. Their first encounter throws him for a loop with her hostility and dismissal. And then the social media post that could cost him his job insights him to change his game plan and charm her enough to redeem his public image. But everything backfires when he starts to feel something for the petite no-frills woman.
First of all, I’m not a fan of either Siena nor Harrison. I just wasn’t feeling it for these two. Siena is too wishy-washy with her constant teasing and then pushing Harrison away. She needs to make up her mind and just tell him the truth, but she’s selfish and wants to get a little action with the hot rich dude. As for Harrison, he’s a pompous ass who lost touch with the simple things in life. He spends money like it’s going out of style like buying the shop Siena works in so he can fire her. Really? Well, that doesn’t happen because he falls for the sassy sprite who dry humps him in the library, blows him in the dressing room of the shop, and sends him on his way because they won’t work. Siena finally confesses her secret and Harrison leaves like the dick he is, but love prevails.
And let’s not forget Harrison’s former college buddies who are just as arrogant as he is with their fancy mansions and yachts. Not all of them seem bad since the rock star made a connection with Siena and gives some insight into her personality that opens Harrison’s eyes to the creep he has become. As for Siena’s friends, they are very supportive of her plight promising to be there for her.
This book was not my cup of tea. The writing was okay. Just unoriginal and sometimes repetitive. I mean how many times can you use the word entitled? But if you enjoy billionaire jerks, insipid heroines, and even more billionaire jerks who will be showing up in the series, give this book a try.
Thank you to Ms. Hart for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
This book was so much fun. Watching (reading) Harrison go from being just a "playboy billionaire" to something more was truly a joy. I loved seeing his relationship grow with Siena, as well as seeing him strive to overcome his own faults and hang ups to become that man that Siena deserved. I cant wait to see what else is in store, not only for this couple but the 4 friends of Harrison.
A complimentary copy of this book was provided by NetGalley for my honest review and opinion. Harrison and Siena's romance takes a speed derby turn going 90 for broke! It was a fun and steamy romance with lots of laughs.
To be honest, the story wasn't that great, but the writing... Ohlala I love love love Hart's writing and I'm definitely gonna read more of her books!
My rating for this is closer to a 3.5 stars.
I really enjoyed how sassy and spunky Siena was as a main character. She was never afraid to stand her ground, even when it came to Harrison who has very much of the same attitude. Siena repeatedly turning down Harrison, when most women would have leapt into his arms, was so refreshing. The spice level was great, not as explicit as I was expecting for a book listed as 'erotica' but still good. The story had a nice closing and I would definitely read the remaining books in this series if I was given the opportunity. The book was definitely not exactly what I was expecting, but I welcomed that!
Harrison was a decent male lead but I found myself rolling my eyes every time he would bring up how many women he had been with, how many women have used him, how many women throw themselves at him, etc. And he seemed to bring it up at every given opportunity, both to his friends and to Siena. Some of the conversations between the guys and even the guys and Siena is a bit abrasive as well. There was a scene in particular where Micah kind of came for Siena and placed a ton of blame on her when he didn't even know the situation.
Overall this was a great, quick read that kept my attention and I ended up enjoying fairly well. Definitely know a few friends that I would recommend it to in a heartbeat.
Wow, this was not the typical story I was expecting. I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. Harrison, who needs some rest and relaxation goes to friends beach house where he meets Sienna at the local beach shop. Sienna is pretty much broke and swore off all men. What started off as banter between the two developed into a nice friendship / romance. It was a great read that kept me entertained throughout. I would highly recommend!
I received an advanced reader copy and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
I am so in love with Harrison and Sienna. This story ended up being so much more than I expected. This was more than one night. This was a story of finding your soul mate and that missing piece that makes you whole.
Harrison Avery is a billionaire, but he has worked hard for every dollar he has made. He works long hours, never wanting to return to the life he grew up in. Harrison is more than a self-made man; he is a machine with a the sole purpose of being successful. He with the help of his best friends from college have created one of the most popular dating apps out there. Harrison is running from the poverty that held him back as a child. Raised by a single father that was not kind or good has been the catalyst that drives Harrison.
Sienna is a dreamer living in survivor mode. Sienna was the HEA. She wants to be loved and cherished by a man. After a terrible date on a dating app that has left her ghosted by the guy she has given up on men. Her plan is to just keep her head down and figure out her next move. Sienna has been beaten down by life but she isn’t bitter or angry. She seems complacent in her life, which we have all been there.
One week in a sleepy North Carolina beach town in February with his best friends from college leads to more than Harrison ever bargained for.
This was not a typical one-night stand billionaire romance. Instead, this was a story of two people who had more in common that they had different. I really loved this unique take on the trope. Harrison was such a cerebral character. He knew his limitations and boundaries, he was thoughtful and respect full of Sienna’s. He pushed but not in an over powering dominate way. He never pushed away Sienna’s feelings. He listened, that might be one of the swooniest things a hero can do. Not only did he listen but he also respected himself enough to know when he needed to walk away.
I really love this authors take on the billionaire romance and can not wait for the next book in the series. These guys are going to fall so hard and I hope all the heroines are as feisty and strong as Sienna.
I highly recommend this book even if you aren’t sure you love a billionaire romance give this a try. It is fresh take on the story and so well done!
One Night with a Billionaire by Lane Hart is the First book in the Playboy Billionaire Club Series. This is the story of Siena Butler and Harrison Avery. Harrison started out with a rough life. But him and his friends ended up creating an App and business that has now made them very Successfully. This has lead Harrison to keep his eyes focused on work and his friendship with his fellow buddies. But when he meets Siena he knows that she is something he wont be letting pass him by. Siena is a hardworking women who has had a run of bad luck in men...especially the last one. So when Harrison starts to show interest in her she tries to knock that down. But he is making it hard to resit him. Really enjoyed this book and I will be looking for more books from this author.
This book took me back to my roots and what got me into romance in the first place!
Siena has sworn off dating when she meets Harrison, an arrogant billionaire who normally gets what he wants. The spark is undeniable and he can’t help but want to see more of her, no matter how much she fights it.
I plowed my way through this book and was telling my book club they needed to read this before I even finished!! It had me so sucked in I stayed up way to late finishing it because I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!!!
I was in the mood for a romance. So I was happy when I got approved for ‘One Night With a Billionaire’
After an awful experience Siena sworn off all men in her life. But she’s a strong woman and she goes on with her life. She has her best who’s also her roomie and her job at the beach shop. Everything is going as usual….till Harrison Avery comes into the picture. A young billionaire who gets what he wants. From the beginning there is a certain spark between them. Does Harisson always gets what he wants? And what’s the secret Siena is hiding.
If you want the answers to these questions then I recommend you to read the book 😊
I really enjoyed reading this book. It reads easy and the chapters aren’t too long either. And can we appreciate the bookish references and the LGBT rep, yes that are extra bonuses! In the future I can’t wait to read more books from Lane Hart.
I was so excited for the book because it has tropes that I enjoy.
So let me divide this review into 2 parts.
The pros:
1. Enjoyable plot - you may think that the plot is typical. But I love how there’s a certain twist and shocking factor to it. The story is extremely fast paced, but I think that it was built up just well.
2. Spicy scenes were amazing. Considering that I picked this up as it belonged to the new adult genre, the spice it promised was there. Probably one of the best parts of the book.
3. Presence of chemistry between characters - you know whenever mcs are dull and bland. Though i’m not a fan of the characters individuality, together they make a strong impression and scenes.
Cons:
1. Writing style - overall I had issue with the writing style. It was very awkward to me especially the first few chapters. Lines were very cringey and some gets me second hand embarrassment.
So no matter how much I wanted to enjoy the plot, since the writing was a bit off to me, it became less enjoyable to read the book.
Overall - I’d give The book a 3.5/5 rating only because the last few chapters redeemed the entire book and the spice a good 4/5 - loved the part in the beach shop :) look forward to it smut readers, it’ll have you heated in no time.
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book because I didn't really like the title, but I was very pleasantly surprised! The storyline pulled me right in and I definitely felt the connection between the main characters. The supporting characters were also intriguing and I am hopeful for spinoff books featuring them. I read this one pretty fast because I couldn't put it down. A great fun read!
Unfortunately this book wasn't my favorite, I think there is too much dialogue, and every chapter it shifts the male-female lead POV a bit quickly so I get really confused. But the plot was good and it was a light read.
This is a entertaining enemies to lovers story which took a little while to get into but halfway through started picking up and ended brilliantly.
One Night with a Billionaire was a fun, sweet read with a little bit of a beachy feel, and while it does involve a billionaire, I absolutely adore that he's a billionaire who is willing to step outside of his lavish lifestyle a bit, so a billionaire romance with a twist if you will....
Siena has recently sworn off all men after a horrible experience on a dating app, so she spends her time working at a shop at the beach where she lives. Harrison is a workaholic billionaire, who has stepped away from the office for a short vacation with his best friends from college and finds himself in the touristy town Siena lives and works in. When Harrison meets Siena, there is something about her that is different from all the other women he has ever met, and that makes him want her even more. Their relationship starts off very much like a game of cat and mouse and turns into more than either could have expected.
I enjoyed the story line greatly. I have read many of this author's books and always find them to be enjoyable and engaging. I really enjoyed all of the characters. I liked Harrison and his friends and I liked Siena and Kim. I especially liked how much growth Harrison's character showed throughout the course of the story and how devoted he was to proving he wanted to be with Siena...utterly swoon-worthy. I read this in one sitting, and cannot wait to read Micah's story!
