Shamanism is a big subject that I find intriguing. This was a great overview on the subject.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advanced reader copy. This is my honest review.

What a great overview of a meditative and natural healing and Earth connection practice. Not common to find such a good overview of Shamanism, which few know of or understand - but is a precious practice that should be embraced by more! Definitely recommended!

Shamanism is a subject I have long wanted to explore in more detail. I will be buying this book for sure! With an abundance of information as well as rituals...a great starting book for those with an interest in Shamanism.

I'm usually not a fan of non-fiction, and I specifically requested this book because I'm interested in the topic. It did not disappoint with the amount of information to be found within.

What I really like about this book is the fact that it is not only a guide on how to use shamanism, but also contains many rituals that I have never seen explained before! , All the basics are covered such as the three worlds and the variety of spirits shamans may encounter. Mr Nelson explains why shamanic work may help and also what to expect if used. There are may examples of real people doing the rituals and their experiences and results. This book is very unique in that it fills the void that many shamanic books have. That is what others have experienced when doing the rituals and also more detail on how to actually perform the ceremonies. This is an excellent book for beginning and IMO also the more experience shaman who wants some new ideas on how to repair and heal the human condition.

There is so much to read and learn about shamanism and it cannot all be stuffed in one book. Nelson however does fit an incredible amount of useful info into a 200+ page book, including the basics (history, tools...), and a section on healing, nature and intermediate work. This is a great reference piece, not necessarily something I would read in one go (which I did just do for reviewing purposes), but rather pick up whenever I need to get more familiar with a certain subject, whether it be a ritual or a correspondence. So I would like to have this in my library as a psychical book, can recommend!
