This book was a bit overwhelming. There was a lot of information forced into it that made it a bit of a hard read. I felt like the author really could have broken it down and made it into a few books to make it easier to get through. If I had been new to this I might have been turned away but the amount of information.

I think this book has too much information in it. I know. I did however like that it has an empowerment focus.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advanced reader copy. This is my honest review.

I'm sure that this a great book for some people but I had some text formatting issues and everything was mixed around. This meant it difficult to read the text without getting a headache and the picture were constantly cut off. But I do appreciate being given the ARC.

This was another great book for those who are interested in learning more about witchcraft. It’s full of information as well as tips to get you started on this path. This book also has a focus on empowerment which I really enjoyed. I did however find that I took quite a while to read just because I contains so much information.

I gave this 3.5 stars.

What a great book. There is a lot of information which makes you think about how you are doing things. New and different ideas to incorporate in your own magic. A book that should be added to every witches library. Thank you Net Galley and Llewellyn Worldwide for allowing me to read this book.

Zoe Howe brings witchcraft into the modern age with her new book Witchful Thinking. A guide to living a magic inspired life, the book includes spiritual advice, ways to develop a magical mindset, and develop a sense of empowerment.  Using the archetype of the cunning woman, Witchful Thinking acts as more of a self-guide. This helps those who might still be unsure about what their currently beliefs are while they explore their new mindsets.

Witchful Thinking includes contributors like Madame Pamita, Linda Yael Schiller, and Laura Keeble. For those wanting to experience an enchanting life, this book acts as a great jumping off place.

Witchful Thinking is now available from Llewellyn.

It is like a handbook by giving a number of different topics./ideas introduced with a bit of explanation. Get some extra tips and contributions from other people.

It took me quite awhile to read this book, not because it wasn't good. It was excellent. There was just so much information to absorb and think about.
This is the perfect book for someone just starting out on their witchcraft/pagan practice or someone who needs a boost in their practice. The author gave such wonderful information and so many things to think about.

This book took quite some time to work through. Perhaps it was the reader, but there was also something to this book that both intrigued and confused. Is it for any witch? Is it geared toward those in Cronehood?

Charmed Living is an interesting concept and this reader was looking for more of a title that incorporated witchy practices into daily life by the description and subtitle. Instead, it gave me an overview of a lot of basics which is good for a beginner. The little asides with other practitioners were interesting and it did lend to the book's information.

Although, the book was almost abandoned at part 2. Part 3 was interesting in covering how to manifest things and how words have power which is a very important concept and could easily be covered in a book on it's own. Then Part 4 shifted to body positivity and menopause. This reader found that by this point, the book's direction and/or scope seemed confusing from what it aimed to do.

Overall, this book is a little bit of everything, which is both good and not. For this reader, it seemed that the book would have been better split over a few books or broken up a little differently. I suspect some readers will devour this and others will be turned off by a certain point.

Witchful Thinking, The Wise Woman's Handbook for Creating a Charmed Life by Zoe Howe, is a great book for the beginner and the advanced practitioner. It is very empowering for women of all types, and I think readers will really enjoy checking this one out.

I think it's a very useful and informative book if you are starting the Path but some ideas can also be useful if you are more experienced or need some new ideas.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

While there was nothing objectively wrong with this book, I think it was a little too "beginner level" for me. Covers a wide range of topics that could be helpful to new witches but I wasn't fully sure how the concept of "witchful thinking" differed from witchcraft in general. Overall not a bad beginner read, just not for me.

I enjoyed this read, I wish I'd read it years ago. Very empowering read for anymore wanting to bring a bit more magic into their lives, great ideas and recipes included.

This book is perfect for a baby witch or someone who needs guidance to empower themselves and live their most magickal life. While I didn’t really relate with they book on a personal level, I’m already comfortable with who I am, both as a woman and a practitioner. But this book may be just what you are looking for, so read the overview and if it calls to you, this book is for you.

Witchful Thinking is a guide on what it means to be a witch. Zoe Howe's gentle and encouraging tone was a breath of fresh air in what is typically a condescending topic. While there was nothing unique or groundbreaking about the info shared in this book (standard witchcraft/new age practices), the tips and interviews offer the reader the opportunity to experiment and find the craft that works best for them. Witchcraft is exploratory and Howe veers away from the dogmatism and commercialism that has hijacked this practice. Ultimately, witchful thinking is about embracing the power of who you are and who you want to be.

This book is more of a motivational witchy read, a how-to-guide for those new to the craft. If you are looking for a more original educational book on the topic, this might not be the right book for you.

3/5 stars for me because despite the author's kind voice, the info was typical- nothing you couldn't read anywhere else.

While the introduction says that beginner to more advanced practitioners of witchcraft could find thus book useful I have to disagree. The first 2/3rds of this book is information readily available in beginner literature or by a simple internet search. The last section did provide some meaningful insight into accepting growth within ones practice. I enjoyed some of the recipes and exercises throughout the book.
