Bob Kingley’s Book of Records recounts a history of how he got into the radio business and focuses on a dozen or so of the artists he met and befriended over the years, including interviews they did on air over the years.

As a girl growing up on country music in the 1990s, Bob Kingsley was the voice of country music radio. As soon as I saw this audiobook, I knew I had to listen to it, and it is well worth the listen! It is a quick read and great tribute to Kingsley’s career. If you are a country music fan, I definitely recommend checking out this audiobook.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

I must admit that since I’m not from the US, I was completely unfamiliar with Bob Kingsley’s work and his importance in radio and music in general. That said, I think this audiobook was a wonderful way to be introduced to his legacy. Hearing so many different artists tell stories made me realize how much of a beloved figure he is. My main criticism is that it’s too short, every chapter only gives a brief glimpse into his relationship with an artist and for someone completely unfamiliar with it, I felt like I needed more context and would be happy to learn more about them and Bob Kingsley.

Book 9 -Bob Kingsley's Book of Records by Bob Kingsley
Format : 🎧
Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thoughts : I was offered the opportunity to listen to this book by its publisher @orangeskyaudio . Being the HUGE country music fan that I am , I grew up on Bob Kingsley so I was absolutely thrilled to listen to this book. Bob passed away in 2019 and my Sundays have not be the same without his Country Top 40. This was such a well done audio , it featured story telling and old audio clips with Bob , the only reason it didn’t get a five star rating is because I thought it was too short and I wanted more. #BobKingsleyBookofRecords #bobkingsleyscountrytop40 #bobkingsley #countrymusic #netgalley #bookstagram #audiobookstagram

Bob Kingsley's Book of Records gives a brief overview of Bob Kingsley's career in country music radio and includes clips of interviews from his radio show. While the audiobook was good quality and interesting, there really isn't any new information included. If you're interested in anecdotes about popular country musicians though, it's quick and definitely worth a listen.
