Cube Kid's tales are insanely popular with juvenile and middle-grade readers who are into gaming and Minecraft. For any teacher or librarian struggling to get the gamer kids to read, these cute and funny stories are a great addition to their collections.
Not my normal read, but I did enjoy the story. I chose to read this book because I thought it may be of interest to some of my students. Definitely will recommend it to them!
My kids are obsessed with Minecraft and absolutely loved this book. It was such a fun read! We highly enjoyed it.

I have a confession. I’ve never played Minecraft. Don’t know much about the game except that it’s hugely popular. I do know about RPGs and how these systems work despite not being a gamer.
I got this book because it seemed like it would be fun and different and a break from my normal reads. And overall it is a fun adventure that actually felt like a game. I got a little bored when game play (such as inventory, health and leveling up) was explained but it was definitely useful and a cute way for Eeebs learning about his new powers.
I liked the format of the story told in diary/journal format. It was super cute. I also think it have lost some of its creativity in the audio format as it sounds like there may have been some pictures accompanying some parts of this story. Michael Gallagher did a great job with creating distinctive voices and making this story a fun listening experience. I would hace given this tale 4 stars but the abruptness of the ending with no actual ending made me drop it down a star.
I received this audiobook for free from NetGalley. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten: Lost in the Nether: An Unofficial Minecraft Adventure by Cube Kid is the story of Eeebs, a kitten with the superpower of monsters in the world of Minecraft.
When Eeebs plays with two other kittens in the forest, got lost and find himself in the land of monsters, the Nether, who want to attack his world.
Eeebs Adventure began, he should warn his people, protect his family and friends, learn more about his new powers and find a specific villager to help.
This was my second book in Minecraft world by Cube Kid and Narrated by Michael Gallagher, funny and entertaining.
Many Thanks to Andrews McMeel Audio and NetGalley for the ARC, I have given my honest review.
Another wonderful Minecraft inspired read for young bookworms who are just starting their journey into chapter books and graphic novels alike. My 7 year old was able to read and comprehend the entire book, and absolutely loved it. I appreciated a story that made him problem solve and think, and wasn’t clamoured with potty humour (which most boy-geared books for this age range are). A fantastic read for any young minecraft fan, and mom-approved.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Diary of an 8-bit cat follows Eeeb, a cat who stumbles into the Nether. He makes some unlikely friends with a Ghast, a witch, and even a Wither Skeleton. It follows him and his new friends on his adventure in finding out a prophesy, how he fits into it, and saving the Overworld.
My kids love Minecraft, and we often play it together as a family, so when I saw this book, I thought it would be a good opportunity to see if my kids would enjoy books about it too. I think the story was cute. I enjoyed the characters and how the author made some of the "hostile" mobs friendly, and gave them likeable personalities. I thought the narrator did an excellent job with his expression and pace. I think my kids would love this book.
