Conversely from other reviews that focus on the style of the author, the lack of editing, or even the implausibility of some contextual aspects, I’d like to concentrate my review on other facets.
First of all, this book is NOT a textbook. It is a fictional novel. As such, the author, as far as I understand, has all the poetic license in the world. Thus, had he desired to describe an eventual pact between Nazis and Martians, that would have been absolutely fine. I’m saying that because yes, it would have been quite unlikely for a German family to have kept a Jewish maid by the end of WWII. It would have been also quite unlikely for a luggage firm to have selected holocaust stories as the advertisement context for their bags, as well as having a tattoo artist managing a brothel inside the Dachau concentration camp.
Secondly, the author managed to create an interesting plot, albeit a predictable one after a certain point. Moreover, he also succeeded in describing some of the horrors of the war (and I emphasize SOME), and potential dilemmas that German soldiers might have faced.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and will recommend it to my network.

My apologies; if I requested this book, it appears that due to family commitments I was not able to read it before the book was archived. I'm sorry it has lingered this long.
