Crimson Summer by Heather Graham is another nice addition to the series. Amy Larson FDLE & Hunter Forrest FBI are investigating a mysterious mass murder in the Everglades which lead to more questions and additional murders. Fast paced romantic thriller with a surprise ending. Looking forward to the next!
Wow. I devoured this book. I love this series and I can’t wait to read more!
While this is book two in a series, you can read it as a standalone.
Rival gangs, FBI agents and the second in a great series revolving around the four horseman !
I am an avid reader of Heather Graham's books, most especially The Krewe of Hunters series, but for some reason, I just could not get into Crimson Summer.
I don't know what it was, but this just wasn't the book for me. Please don't let that stop you from trying this one. Not every book is for everyone and you might really enjoy it.
Heather Graham is a wonderful author and I'll definitely be reading more by her in the future.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for approving an ARC at my request.
What can I say that I have been waiting for this book forever?!? After the major cliffhanger in the first book, I had to get the second book. But of course, it's still been written since it was published last year. So I had to wait patiently for the next book, and I'm glad that I did.
Crimson Summer has brought their game up with the twists and turns as Amy and Hunter track down their suspect. Expect a lot of surprise as Amy and Hunter investigate the clues along the way.
I won't say much, but this book leads to something bigger than before. I just can't read the next book leading to it.
I received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This is the 2nd book in the series of the Four Horseman and apocalypse. I enjoyed and first book and couldn’t wait to read the second one in the series. It was just as enjoyable as the first. Great suspense, the pace of the action was perfect. Once again Graham has kept us guessing. FDLE special agent Amy Larson and FBI special agent Hunter Forrest cut their vacation shot when they received the red horse. They come flying back to Florida and find a gang was killed and was made to look like the Seminoles did it. But they both noticed right off that the weapons weren't the kind used by them. Then another killing happens in New York and a few more in Florida and Amy and Hunter feel the tensions rising with the gangs and know that they will be following a dangerous group of extremists. Will Amy and Hunter figure out who is in charge of these murders or will the killing continue and escalate to a turf war in the US?
I enjoy the ongoing theme - The Four Horsemen. It's a very interesting story line. I enjoy the characters, the settings, the interagency dynamics. What I am not crazy about is the simplistic, somewhat forced dialogue between some of the characters - especially Amy and Hunter. It makes certain sections feel drawn out, with unnecessary words that don't really bring anything extra to the story.
Other than that, I can't wait to see what happens next.
Thank you #netgalley and #htp #mira for the eARC.
Mass murders are found In different cities that appear to be gang related, but there could be more to the story. The book is fast paced with action from the first part of the book. This is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
I have really loved this series, and Crimson Summer didn't disappoint as a continuation. This is fast paced an exciting, with so much more to come with it's over-reaching story arc...while this one is 'solved' there is a bigger picture that I just love.
Amy and Hunter found the White Horse now they are back in Crimson Summer looking for the Red Horse. This book takes us from Florida to New York City to Chicago. It’s fast paced and brimming with suspense. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
A good, solid detective/FBI story that will keep you guessing. Amy and Hunter work together to find out who is doing the killing sprees around the country.
Crimson Summer by Heather Graham is the second book in this series, but it can be read as a standalone book (which I did as I hadn't read the first book and didn't feel I missed anything).
The characters were okay, and the story's premise was better than the actual storyline. The dialogue got irritating when the one character continued to mention that Amy (the main character) was an artist and could see things at a crime scene that others couldn't. This repetition pulled me out of the story.
Overall, the story was good, and the writing was done well enough to hold my interest for the most part. I would rate this a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I may check out more in this series.

This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand-alone. Rival gangs and a rising body count and an evil cult. The first book had the cult giving the FBI a white horse, this time it is a red horse for the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Definitely want to read the next book in this series
The author continues to craft excellent scenarios into which she places characters we can appreciate.
Another great read by Heather Graham. This was a good follow up to "Danger in Numbers" but can be read as a stand alone.
