Was this book weirdly long? Yes
Was the ending a bit chaotic and rushed? Yes
Did any of that hinder my enjoyment? Absolutely not

This book was perfectly Pippa Grant and I truly had a great time. It was hella funny, it was heartfelt, and it felt an awful lot like a Hallmark Christmas movie in which the mega-rich big city girl ends up in a small town and realizes how awful she truly is and falls in love with a small-town boy who loves to watch her fall in the lake but there’s a bit of a twist and I want to tell you what it is but that would SPOIL it but omg it was fun.

I do wish about 100 pages had been chopped out (whoops) and I somehow have a lot of questions???? but I loved the characters so much I really didn’t mind and I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series and head back to Tickled Pink and hopefully this one won’t end as chaotically??? We shall see.

This was a chaotic review (sorry) so long story short this was fun and I liked it and I like Pippa Grant and you should read it because Phoebe and Teague and the rest of the town are wonderful and I had fun.

The One Who Loves You is the first book in the new Tickle Pink series. It has everything you would expect from Ms. Grant’s books: hilarious, cute-meet, family drama, romance, and more. The location itself is telling since it takes place in the small town of Tickled Pink, Wisconsin.
Realtor Teague Miller is a single father raising his teenage daughter in Tickled Pink. When he is approached by the Lightly family's matriarch who wants to buy the old high school building, he has no problem making the sale and using the money to benefit the town. He doesn’t expect the family to last too long in the quiet and remote town of Tickled Pink.
Phoebe Lightly’s family is wealthy, and she is used to her New York lifestyle. She has planned and worked hard to take over the family’s company one day. Phoebe and her siblings are shocked when Gigi, her grandmother, has a near-death experience and decides to move them to Tickled Pink. Gigi thinks the family needs to improve their souls and living it rough in a small town will do it. Phoebe hopes Gigi will change her plans and needs Teague’s help to accomplish it.
This was a hilarious, small-town rom com with a grumpy single dad and an outgoing socialite heroine. I loved watching the Lightly family grow closer helping the community and working together to improve their living conditions. This was an excellent book that left me smiling at the end. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

The One Who Loves You by Pippa Grant
Tickled Pink #1

For a book I almost did not finish…I have to say I am glad I stuck with it even if I did skim for the most part. There were times I felt the H/h were caricatures and acting much younger than their purported ages but by the end of the story I did become invested in them, the town, and the future of the series.

What I liked:
* The setting in Tickled Pink, Wisconsin
* The small-town community
* The abundance of quirky characters – they were confusing and hard to take at times
* The premise of the story: rich people moving to a small town to become better people
* The secrets that came out
* Teague: the hero and book boyfriend, a bit hokey at times, has a secret, not easy to warm up to, kind of a mixed bag, lives in a treehouse, divorced, father of a teenage girl
* Phoebe: heroine of the book, New York socialite, wealthy, spoiled, hard to warm up to, grows a lot in the story
* The supporting characters: Tavi: sister of Phoebe and influencer, Carter: wannabe musician and brother of Phoebe and Tavi, Gigi: matriarch and grandmother…rather difficult, Bridget: daughter of Teague, and others
* The secrets (two major ones) that came out at the end and how they impacted the H/h
* That more than one of the Lightly family became more self-aware
* That I persevered and enjoyed reading a new-to-me author

What I didn’t like:
* It took half the book to really get into the story
* It didn’t grab me, and I had trouble relating to the characters
* It seemed longer than it needed to be and felt it could have been edited down by 100 or more pages

Did I enjoy the story? Yes…eventually
Would I read more in this series? Yes…I would give the next book a try

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC – this is my honest review.

3-4 Stars

Once again Pippa Grant has written an amazingly thoughtful and funny book. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire journey from start to finish and my favourite will always be the goats!

I adore Pippa Grant, but this book was a bit harder for me to get into. Those who loved Schitts' Creek will likely adore this book. Once I got into the book I found the pacing perfect and started to understand the characters. It was a solid story and while not my favorite of hers, it still had all of the elements that make Pippa Grant fantastic.

The One Who Loves You is a perfect read. It's quirky, hilarious, and so sweet. I adore Teague and Phoebe, the banter is off-the-charts amazing and kept me laughing. The entire town was the perfect amount of eccentric, it has a very Schitt's Creek vibe which is, of course, the best. If you're looking for something fun with a lot of heart, I highly recommend this one!

If you love romantic comedies, Schitt's Creek, and a cast of characters that bring a small town to life in hilarious ways, then The One Who Loves You is the book for you! Pippa Grant always writes magical, hysterical, outrageous romances with so much comedy and joy that you're left smiling for days, and this definitely delivers!

Phoebe's life is thrown off kilter when her grandmother has a near-death experience and decides her whole family needs some reinvention to save their souls. She's definitely out of her NYC Upper East Side element in Tickled Pink, and the town is challenging all of her life goals. When Teague Miller comes trying to run her family out of town, they two of them butt heads, but soon they're busting each other's hearts wide open. They challenge each other, but also make each other want more. Secrets threaten to tear them apart, but at the end of the day, their love gives them each the strength to make the changes they need to make to be together.

The audio, narrated by Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood, is the perfect complement to writing. They bring such truth and honesty and emotion to the roles of Teague and Phoebe, and it's such a fun listen.

I enjoyed reading this story by Pippa. Love how she incorporates twist and turns into her stories. I also love when you see alot of different side characters. The grandma was a fun little surprise. I also enjoyed listening to the audio. Love small town romances with a bit of mystery.

A great read - can't wait for more books in this series!

Phoebe ends up in Tickled Pink after her grandmother has a near death experience and wants her family to be improved. They all end up living in a old school together and things don't get off to the best of starts. Lots of secrets are being kept by different people, so what will happen as these are revealed.

I liked how it was told from both points of view.

The One Who Loves you was a fun and cute read. I loved the build up to the little twist and the life lessons along the way. The family drama, sexual tension and LOL moments kept me interested the entire story. I love Pippa's writing and I can't wait to see what she writes next!

As her first traditionally published book, it is a bit of a departure from the style Pippa Grant's existing readers are used to. That's not necessarily a bad thing though. While I have really enjoyed most of the books I've read, they are "a lot" in the sense that they're totally ridiculous. Entertaining for sure, but completely outlandish and over the top. This book felt a bit more realistic.

There were things I enjoyed about this story, but on the whole, I felt like it was about 100 pages too long (except at the end when it was a bit too abrupt). It also was a bit TOO much like It Happened One Summer for me. Not implying anything nefarious there, just that I have recently read a very similar book that I felt was a bit better done than this one. Nothing about this one really stood out aside from the fact that I typically really like this author..

While this wasn't my favorite, I will absolutely read the next book in the series.

The One Who Loves You was a lot deeper than I was anticipating it to be, but that isn't a bad thing. There were plenty of funny moments but there were also a lot of personal growth moments. Together they made for a wonderfully put together story.

Phoebe works for the family company and comes from an extremely rich family. After her grandmother's "moment" her and her family are forced to live in Tickled Pink, WI to learn how to be good. (Her grandmother picks this place because of a fictional movie.)

Phoebe has A LOT of growing to do, and watching her through the experience was truly inspiring. At first she thinks she is the best in the family, but as the story unfolds you find out things aren't always what they seem. And Phoebe herself realizes that she has a lot of work to do - and starts working on things.

Teague is a divorced dad living in an awesome treehouse. His family situation is quite complicated, but it's best to go through those complications as they unfold in the book. I really liked Teague and how he appreciated and supported Phoebe through her discovering her new self.

Highly recommend!

Thank you so much Montlake and Netgalley for a copy of this book!

The One Who Loves Me is a new romantic comedy by Pippa that I really enjoyed!

Phoebe is a Lightly, her whole family is extremely rich and privileged. When Phoebe’s grandma almost dies she decides the whole family should learn how to become better people so they can go to heaven. She makes all Lightly family move to a little town called Tickled Pink and start living without maids, chauffeurs and WiFi. But not all locals are happy with having to tolerate Lightlys in their beloved town and the one complaining the most is our MMC, Teague. Let’s just say Teague and Phoebe’s first meeting doesn’t go well but they soon bond over their mutual desire to get the Tickled Pink rid of all Lightlys. That’s how begins their swoon worthy romance but when it turns out Teague has some carefully hidden secrets will their new relationship survive or will Phoebe go back to her privileged life in New York?

I loved all the great pranks local people were concocting for the members of the Lightly family, I was laughing so many times at all the shenanigans. Phoebe and Teague made a really great couple (it’s an enemies to lovers story which is my favorite!) and after a bumpy start they had a beautiful romance. I adored all local people and even the Lightly family members become quite lovable in time (and definitely the funniest! Grandma Lightly makes the most hilarious “villain”, I laughed in every scene with her).

The One Who Loves Me is a great romantic comedy and a really great summer read. Can’t wait for Tavi’s book coming in December!

To me this is a mix of Schitt's Creek and a Lifetime movie turned in to a romance book. I enjoyed it.

Basically, a family of spoiled New Yorkers is thrown in to a small town because of their matriarch who watched a movie set there and wants to make her family better people. This gave me Schitt's Creek vibes. The main character is the uptight executive who meets a brooding lumberjack fisherman and that's where the lifetime movie element comes in.

I haven't looked this up yet but I need to know more about some of the characters. So I hope there are other books coming.

I’ve been a Pippa Grant fan for a long time so I was really excited to receive this one. My favorite thing about her books is that she writes ridiculous so well while weaving substance into her stories. This book was not the exception.

It was great seeing the characters be both reflective and introspective. There wasn’t a magical “I can fix you” or “I am fixed because I’ve met you.” Instead, there was recognition that the ways we are set in are not necessarily the ways we want to continue living in. Also, changing takes work and there are times when old habits die hard. Even when we want the best, we’re not flawless.

I recommend this one if you like: grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers, Schitt’s Creek vibes.

OMG, Pippa Grant outdid herself with this book. As an avid fan of her books, I love that her characters are always so relatable and show growth or acceptance of their character by the end of the novel.
This book was a little different. Usually her heroines are kind with a quirk that not everyone accepts. In TOWLY, Phoebe starts out as a not very likable person. She is a NY socialite using her name, blackmail and other people to work her way to the top of her family’s company. After her grandmother has an “epiphany” and sees her family is headed toward eternity in hell, she packs them all up and moves them to the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. This is where the story develops and I fell in love with Phoebe and her journey to discovering who she is without her name and influence to get her way.
The entire town of Tickled Pink is an adorable, quirky town full of genuine people who judge you on your actions and personality and not on who you are and how much money you have. They don’t trust newcomers but once you prove your worth as a person, they accept you with open arms. I absolutely loved all of the characters from there especially Teague and his family.
There is so much more I could tell you about the story, but the best way to get you to read it is by saying that this book gave me so many feels. It made we want to step back and see if I’m the kind of person I really want to be as well.
Get this book. You won’t be disappointed.
