This was a great continuation of her first book in the duology, The Arrangement. In The Amendment we pick right back up where book one left off, but I love how KMod added in some super dark twists right from the beginning. I didn't find this one nearly as suspenseful and thrilling as the first book for most of the story, but the ending had me absolutely deceased and I did not see any of it coming....I'm beginning to see why they call her the queen of twists, Thank you NetGalley for my audiobook ARC in exchange for a review!

I may be becoming a bit of a Thriller snob but this one did not impress me in the slightest. I didn't feel drawn or connected to the characters which has proven to be a red flag when reading. The novel did, however, start on a high note and really pulled you in. That ultimately did not last long. The story was far fetched and didn't include the imagery that I crave when reading. This one definitelyย fell short for me.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this Audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I will start off saying I didn't know this was a book 2 until I had already started it. I didn't read The Arrangement but now feel like I really need to!
This was one definitely twisty book, and what a messed up marriage these two have. The mind games they play with each other - well. They are both messed up and the fact they they are raising children is a bit frightening. I had several WTH moments in this one!
I feel like reading book 1 would have given me some prior knowledge, but this one can be read alone (well, because I did it!) and still be an impactful and jaw dropping story.
Off I go to find book 1 and give it a listen (hopefully, because this one was so good in audio!!)
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review. I will definitely be checking out more by this author!

I was lucky to receive an eARC from the author, and once I saw the audio on NG I knew I absolutely needed to give it a listen despite having just read the book. I thought the narrators from the Arrangement couldn't get any better in their delivery as Peter & Ainsley, but once again they absolutely nailed it.
Kiersten Modglin Is an absolute genius and has managed to write a sequel even better than the first, and I am blown away. Of the 16 KMod books I've devoured, this one takes my favorite place at #1.
Spicy, twisty and sometimes downright disturbing, I am begging for a third book in this saga. Don't forget to read the Arrangement before listening to this one!

Thank you to NETGAlley for the opportunity to read this for my honest opinion!

I didn't like this book as much as Ms Modglin's others. It had a bit of a Gone Girl feel to it and that was not one of my favorite books either. It is a continuation of The Arrangement, and you must read that first to understand this book. We pick up with Peter and Ainsley after the shocking events of the first book. Their marriage is still shaky. Can they ever trust each other? Should they? Neither of these characters is particularly likeable. I realize that is the point of the story, but it makes it hard for me to relate to them. In The Arrangement I felt a little sorry for Peter at least at first. That is definitely not possible this time. As with all of Ms Modglin's stories there are twists galore that will keep you reading far into the night. I received a copy of the audiobook from NetGalley. The narrator did an excellent job. It was good, just not my favorite. I look forward to more twisty thrillers from Kiersten Modglin.

Excuse me while I sit down... my head is still spinning!
Just when you think there is NO WAY she can add another plot twist... SMACK. Kiersten Modglin followed up her wild and nutty book, The Arrangement, with this insanity. The Amendment was the perfect completion to Ainsley and Peter's story. It was the sequel I wasn't aware I needed, and oh.... oh how I LOVED and devoured it! Thank you Kiersten for yet another incredible, twisty story! You never cease to amaze me with these deliciously twisty books!

I want to first of all say that I read The Amendment without reading the first in this series. I do think that I may have enjoyed this book more if I had read them in order and I do plan on reading the first. This for me was a 3.5.
The Amendment is a very twisted and dark story about a married couple, Ainsley and Peter. From the first book, that I have not read, came an agreement between the couple trying to save their marriage. They agree to move forward together in spite of past lies and deep sins. However, because of the fear of exposure of these dark secrets they modify this agreement with a new arrangement. The new arrangement requires a total level of trust between the couple. Who can you honestly trust? This couple finds out the answer is much deeper than they could have imagined.
I will say that my enjoyment of this book did greatly increase with the final twist. I was mouth open and honestly smiling.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in return for a honest review.

What a ride! I was so excited to get an advance copy of the sequel to The Arrangement.
I donโt want to say too much because both books are filled with such awesome twists and I donโt want to spoil anyone.
Instead, I will say that this book picks up where The Arrangement left off, and Peter and Ainsley are still having some marriage difficulties. Kiersten Modglin is a master at slowly unwrapping a mind-blowing plot in such a way that the implausible seems likely..

Oh my.....I love a good thriller/mystery, but this one was ALMOST too crazy. I mean, Ainsley! Come on!!! Just kidding, it wasn't too much. I loved it! The character development was great. I read the first book in this duo but had forgotten some of the details. The author did a good job glimpsing back to the first book. You could almost read this one as a standalone book.

Full disclosure: I received this ARC without knowing this was the second book of the series. I was able to follow along, but I'm afraid some of my dislikes possibly stem from not knowing what came before.
For example, both main characters are incredibly unlikeable. But is it because I didn't get to know them in the first novel? Therefore, I don't feel like I can justly rate this book.
I did end up giving it 4 stars because the twists were really good.

It began with an arrangement and ended in more lies and secrets. Peter and Ainsley have been married for twenty years. She wants back the man she married all those years before. As they work to rebuilt the trust that was crushed by all the lies and secrets Ainsley become a woman desperate to save the man she loves.
The story is told in alternating points of view. This is ideal as it allows readers to gain instant feedback from both sides.
Kiersten writes with the sole purpose of shock value. Let me say the twists and turns get the shock value they deserve. She achieves to gain her readers attention with these shocking revelations. Itโs fun and entertaining and that makes for a good read. Itโs a dark thriller that I think fans of Dexter might enjoy. Another reader compared this story with that of Joe and Love from You and I must agree with her comparison.
I didnโt read book 1. I know other readers insist you must read book 1 before reading book 2 but I found that Kiersten gave me enough details to clue me into what secrets Peter was hiding. It was easy transitioning into this story.
Narrators:
George Newbern is the voice of Peter.
Sarah Molly-Christensen is the voice of Ainsley.
This is my first time listening to both of these narrators. My narrator experience continues to grow as more and more authors add audiobooks with each new book release. I love broadening my listening experience. These narrators gave top notch performances. Iโm becoming spoiled by audiobooks. I almost no longer want to read a book without investing in the audiobook as well.
These are the same narrators who performed book 1 The Arrangement.
I listened using the Netgalley app at 2X speed.
This type of book is best received in audiobook format. To have these voice actors giving voice to these characters enhances my book experience.

I absolutely loved reading Ainsley and Peterโs story in Kierston Modglinโs book ๐ป๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐; so I was thrilled when the author announced she was continuing their story in ๐ป๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐๐!
The story begins a couple of months after the first book ends. Ainsley and Peter are still having marital problems that stem from lack of trust. Ainsley is willing to do anything it takes in order to save her marriage, and she and Peter make an amendment to their earlier arrangement (see first book). But their problems keep presenting new challenges, and Ainsley and Peter find very daring and interesting ways to meet these challenges!
๐ด๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Through back stories and family drama, Kiersten Modglin carefully develops Ainsley and Peter in layers so the reader begins to understand the mindset of both characters. The story is told in alternating viewpoints between Ainsley and Peter; the chapters are short and the action moves quickly. Be ready for twists and turns; you wonโt predict the conclusion of this one! This is truly#KMod at her best!
Read ๐ป๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ first. Then, you will definitely want to read ๐ป๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐๐ next!
My sincere thanks to the author for my ebook and to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook. The narrators, George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen, did a fantastic job! My thoughts are my own.

Enjoyment 5 stars
Overall 4.57 stars
It's hard to talk about The Amendment without spoiling The Arrangement. Let's just say that Peter and Ainsley's marriage is still in need of some fine-tuning.
The Arrangement's explosive ending has nothing on this whole novel. The Amendment is took everything great in its predecessor and turned the volume all the way up.
There is intrigue, tension, and a whole lot of batsh*t craziness. Modglin has become one of my favourite authors; I am addicted to her prose, plots, and characters. Her books always put me in a lighthearted, joyful mood - even when the characters are the most devious, amoral, hedonic people you will ever meet. and The Amendment isn't an exception.
I listened to the audiobook produced by Dreamscape Media, narrated by George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen - their chemistry was off the charts, and having both narrators was absolutely the right choice. Peter and Ainsley's relationship is dynamic, tense, and dysfunctional, and every little bit of it was brought to life by George and Sarah. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and read it in one sitting.
If you haven't picked up this series, you must!
Disclaimer: In exchange for an honest review, I am thankful to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of The Amendment.

I really was so excited for this book after reading the Arrangement, I absolutely loved the Arrangement. This story gave me the same vibes as the show You with Joe and Love they reminded me so much of Ainsley and Peter relationship. I wish that this story had more of a connection with the couple, I did not feel any connection with them and I was hoping for bigger or darker twist but I was a little disappointed to be honest. I am still glad I listen to this audiobook but itโs not a book I would re read. I absolutely love Kiersten Modglin so it was a little hard for me to write this review but this one wasnโt a favorite of mine but I am still excited to read more from her.

This book caught me by surprise. I was initially so stunned by the events and the reactions of the characters that I couldn't fully embrace the story. In the end, I became indifferent because for me I was still a bit confused about what was happening. The very end made me want to read a part two but at the same time, the overall vibe for me steers me away from it. For people that like this genre, I say give it a shot. Everyone is different.

I think I liked this one a little more than The Arrangement! I felt like the twists were more nuanced, and the characters had more complexity. I even got a bit of a Dexter vibe during part of it, and hope she continues down that path with future books.
While I would've liked an ending with a pretty bow, I think she has left it open for a continuation of the series.

The Amendment is a fantastic, jaw-dropping follow up to the Arrangement. I really wasn't ready to say good-bye to these deliciously devious characters at the end of the Arrangement, and wanted to know more about the shocking twists. I wasn't expecting a sequel but this story answers the questions I didn't know I had, takes the story in new directions and is full of surprises. It delves further into Peterโs and Ainsleyโs past and future as well as a few of the people around them, and I think I enjoyed it way more than is healthy! This book just had me grinning with anticipation from start to finish.
George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen both did a fantastic job narrating the audiobook, they really kept me on the edge of my seat and their voices really sounded like Peter and Ainsley. It's a good thing this is a relatively short book because I couldn't stop listening to it until the last word.

Another quicky book. I found this one quite predictable. I was expecting intensity like the previous book but it didnt quite deliver. Dont get me wrong, it was a fun follow up but the bar was set really high with the first one..
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

Okay, Can we confirm a book 3 now!?
The Amendment picks up right where The Arrangement left off as we follow this twisted couple through their interesting love dynamic. I donโt want to give anything away but if you read and loved The Arrangement then youโll devour this sequel! And I love an ambiguous ending.
