Really enjoyed this story, but it made you wonder. Are abused females believed or helped. Not always!
This was a heartbreaking read. It was well written, although the authors sty;le took me a while to get into, a compelling yet highly emotive storyline and well developed characters. I really enjoyed it.
Tunisia could pinpoint the day it all went wrong: when she met Dee, a much-older, handsome Marine who dominated the basketball court and whose attention made her feel beautiful and special. Tunisia thinks he could be “the one,” even though Dee isn’t the man she thinks he is. This deception - and their improper relationship – leads her to devastating consequences.
I am not sure how I feel about this book. The writing makes It feel like you are hearing directly from a 15 year old (which is the point) but I had a hard time getting into the book. I like the premise but I really couldn’t get into the book.
