A lovely little short story. Very easy to read and fun along the way of reading it.
A good beach read.
Bridget has been running a little bakery and delivering the goods on her bike. She wants to open up the in’s bakery building that has been left to rack and ruin. She has big plans it takes a lot of cleaning to get it ready there’s a party to celebrate the opening and then a lovely surprise about ownership iv the shop. Lovely summery, if short, read
Bridget is back and her bakery needs new premises.
She finds a redundant bakery tucked away and sets to cleaning and sorting it out. She has the help of the community and her family and her new boyfriend.
Feel good!
Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. This was a lovely easy read full of great characters and a good storyline. I liked it.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy in return for an honest review.
A light and quick summer read, perfect for the beach! This is a sequel, but you don't have to read book one to read this one, although the previous book is equally sweet and enjoyable.
Loved the book! Perfect holiday read! Once I started it didn’t want to put it down! Had me craving lots of cakeee!
Another great book by Alex Brown. The second in the series and it’s definitely worth reading the first book 1st. As Bridget looks to open up a bakery rather than just deliver on her bike can she go ahead with it or not and is boyfriend Jack having an affair. Easy to read this short story although I must admit I wanted more.
Thanks to Alex and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley.
I quite liked this book. I wasnt aware when i took it that it was part of a series. I do feel like i missed out on a lot of character development and connections but as a story it was a nice read. I liked the premise of a person living in a small seaside town baking bread and delivering it to all the vulnerable people by bicycle, there was something incredibly heartwarming about it.
It seems like an age since we have been in Mulberry On Sea and first met Bridget and watched as her bicycle bakery took off. This is almost like a flying visit to see how everyone is getting on and see what delicious treats Bridget is cooking up for us.
The bakery has outgrown the kitchen and Bridget is looking for new premises, the old bakery seems a good place to start, but there is some doubt about its owner. With the support of loyal customers and her new love Jack, it seems that perhaps she can make this new venture work, but then something distracts Bridget and perhaps the new bakery is not the only thing she has to worry about.
A lovely short story, which packs a lot into the pages and leaves you wanting a full length novel. A perfect summer escape with no extra calories.
A Summer Holiday at Bridget's Bicycle Bakery by Alex Brown
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Blurb
It’s summer in Mulberry-on-Sea and with the arrival of warm, sunny evenings and happy tourists full of candy floss and ice cream, Bridget’s Bicycle Bakery has gone from strength-to-strength. There’s only one small croissant-shaped problem – her cosy kitchen isn’t big enough for all her delicious bakes! The seaside-town’s old, boarded-up bakery would be perfect for Bridget’s scrumptious sausage rolls and sourdough loaves but she’ll have to breathe life and love into it, just the way she did with the local community. With the help of newcomer Ellie, old friend Mrs Grace, the local Sea Shanty Society and gorgeous beau Jack, is Bridget’s Bakery dream for real, or is she about to wake up to a new surprise?
My Opinion
Bridget is having to turn customers away as she can't bake any more in her own kitchen, she has plans to reopen the local bakery but first she needs the council to help her as she has been unable to find the owner. This was quite an entertaining, quick read - at 88 pages this took me less than an hour to finish.
It was nice to catch up with Bridget and her bicycle bakery and for a short book there is plenty going on. A great read.
Rating 4/5
I really enjoyed this short story and hope it won’t be too long before there is more in this series. Having read others from this author this perfect short story was just lovely. I do hope things turn out ok for the characters. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Having read Bridgets Bicycle Bakery I was excited to get the ARC of the follow up. What a perfectly lovely little catch up with all the characters, easy to read and with real warmth. My only complaint...... it wasnt long enough!
A short, summer romance that is part of the Bicycle Bakery series. Fun, light, somewhat predictable but very sweet.
With thanks to NetGalley for my advance ebook in exchange for an honest review.
It is a busy summer for the bakery when there's an opportunity to open an actual brick and mortar bakery. It is a dream and would help Bridget financially and serve the community even more. Also, romance continue to grow! Such a lovely story that I enjoyed reading.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Bridget loves to cook. She is thinking about expanding her business, but us unsure of herself. Many people in the community rally around her. This was a quick read.
A short story to continue the life of Bridget with her Bicycle Bakery. The story is a continuation from the exploits of Bridget's personal life and the Bakery. A very light and enjoyable story which is readable sitting in the sun with a glass of choice. Great for taking on holiday.
Firstly I'd like to thank Netgalley and the Publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.
What can I say about this book?! It follows on from the first " A cosy Christmas at Bridget's bicycle bakery"
It was just as heart warming, and enjoyable (a little shorter maybe).
I love the fact that there's suspense the whole way through the book both for who "owns" the Bakery and also what is Jack up to?
From the fear of heart break for both Bridget and for the reader, to pure joy and happiness. I sincerely hope this book does really well.
Happy reading!
Short story. The next chapter in the bicycle bakery. Can be read as a stand alone or part of the series. Will make you smile.
What a lovely and heart warming short story. It was fabulous to be back with Bridget and her family and her bread dreams.
This is a really quick to read short story that is probably best enjoyed if you have read the first book in the series, so that you really know the characters. It meant I felt right at home, back in Mulberry-on-Sea, with all of the locals I already knew I loved.
There were a couple of mysteries to keep us hooked, and I kept hoping that they would have positive outcomes for Bridget.
Thoroughly enjoyed this installment and really hope there will be a next book in the series.
Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Hmmm, not for me, although I really liked the first book in this series. But in this short story the misunderstanding looked like a cliche to me, and I can't get past the fact that it is often the female main character that is clumsy. In this case so clumsy her knickers are showing. Not funny, well not to me.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.
