Abbie and Matt were a perfect couple ... at first. Now, they're fighting all the time over silly things, and the magic has gone. So Abbie hatches a plot to remind them both of why they got married in the first place!

I was expecting something light, but this book was actually a bit heavy in places. I enjoyed it well enough, but something about it just didn't pull me in and I found it a bit forgettable.

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I adore Sophie Ranald, I always know I’m going to have a read with great characters and a lot of laughs. This book definitely hasn’t disappointed.

This is another fun and addictive read. I have devoured page after page in just one sitting. I found myself completely captivated and unwilling to put this down.

Abbie and Matt are wonderful characters and have made this book a great read. I’ve loved the journey throughout this book with them.

Ranald has made me feel all the feels as I’ve read this one. I cannot say anything negative about this book. It’s a fab read and quite possibly my favourite.

I’ll definitely be recommending this book.

PS I Hate You is a cute story by Sophie Ranald.. It's not an actual romance tale, as it's about a married couple trying to rekindle their stagnant relationship. It's all sweet and cute, and was worth a read. The couple goes down memory lane with lots of glimpses into their past. It's emotional and extremely realistic. There are some deep down tough to read scenes that left me struggling to get through. The pain is real and jumps off the pages for sure.
Overall, it's a nice second chance romance with a whole lot of heart.

Oh my goodness i lovved this beautiful book and the writing remarkable. Safe to Say Ms.Ranald has a reader in this girl especially with blurbs and writing like that.
P.S i hate you follows Abbie and Matt's love story alternating between Past and Present and rekindling their love.
I loved reading every bit of this book and sad it's over.

Abbie and Matt have been together for twenty years, married for nine. Marriage has been good, but they both seem to be facing a brick wall in their relationship. While they do love one another they seem to no longer be in love. How can they get that loving feeling back? How about Operation Memory Lane, going back and re-creating memories that set the foundation for their relationship?

While they are navigating these waters, they do have some very serious issues that they are facing, and it is these issues that might break the tenuous hold they have on their marriage. This second chance romance is different than most books that use this trope since the couple is married. While they are looking for the secret to bring their joy back into their marriage, the story shifts back and forth to special moments in their marriage.

The title and description did not connect with me. In fact, both were misleading enough to keep me looking for something that I never found in this book. Instead, Abbie and Matt face very difficult challenges, even to the point where they may never find their connection again. Also, this book dealt with two very serious subjects that gave this book a lot of levity. In many ways this was a relatable read for couples with long relationships. It was interesting see how Abbie and Matt worked to find that sizzle although everything was from Abbie’s point of view.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

I thought P.S. I Hate would be completely different than what the story actually was. I think I was expecting enemies to lovers vibe within the second chance romance. I never really thought these characters actually hated each other. They had just been through the fire and were now trying to put out the flames that were torching their current life. Together they needed to take the time to heal.

P.S. I Hate You is the story of a broken relationship. Abbie and Matt have been together 20 years. They started dating in high school and survived the long distance of college and the early hiccups of married life. Sadly the difficulty to conceive has put them on one long dry spell. Abbie is determined that they will not fail and initiates a plan called Operation Memory Lane where she tries to recreate happiest memories.

Creating these memories proves to be both fun and difficult. The memories were created in a different time of their lives. Revisiting them causes feelings that have long ago been buried. Along with these feelings are secrets - secrets that have been hidden from the people who know them best. With everything out in the open, the questions about their relationship just won't stop. I found this to be realistic as things are not just fixed overnight. Abbie and Matt have been struggling and although the love still there, it is not readily available. They have really hurt each other.

Abbie and Matt's story felt a little uneven to me. There were jumps in time that didn't really move the relationship forward. There is also alot of detail involving Abbie's job creating advertisements for a sex toy company. I really thought that was going to play an important role in their relationship and dry spell. Perhaps it did, just not in the way I had thought/wanted it too. I did enjoy learning about Abbie and Matt's past and how they fell in love. The memories they created were so sweet and I could understand why Abbie wanted to go back to that time and recreate them.

P.S. I Hate You was different than I expected. Even with the time jumps, it felt slow paced. The flashback scenes were well done and likely my favorite part of the book. I enjoyed learning about Abbie and Matt's connection. It made me root for them to refind it again. I only wish that the stories had been told in dual perspectives - that really could have added another level to the story.

Oh my goodness this book was perfection, I loved both the characters and really enjoyed reading about their struggles and trying to rekindle what they once had.
I liked how we got a full picture of their relationship not just the now but the story of how they met and fell in love right up to when the relationship had difficulties and everything thereafter.

Not the usual romantic story but something much deeper and special.

Absolute perfection, I feel this story will stay with me for quite some time.

When I requested this book I thought it would be different from what
it turned out to be, but even though I was a little disappointed at first
I ended up liking the book. I enjoyed the romance and the trope and
the writing was great! It is a very easy book to read.

It took me quite a few chapters to get into the premise, but once hooked, I couldn't stop reading. PS I Hate You is a sweet second chance romance, a trope I seem to be reading a lot lately. I loved the general flow of the story and how Ranald was able to keep it breezy and fun while touching some serious topics. I loved reading both main characters, and supporting cast was great too. I can't wait to read more of this author.

P.S. I Hate You by Sophie Ranald is a sweet, witty and heartfelt second chance romance. You really get to know and feel for the characters, both the main characters Abbie and Matt but also the book's amazing side characters. I loved how Matt and Abbie through reliving old memories got to know themselves and each other better and realised that change doesn't have to be a bad thing.🦐

I did not love this book. I just think the book wasn’t necessarily for me. I liked the characters but they weren’t enough for me. It was a very cute read. It would probably be better for someone else. I didn’t entirely like how the plot overall wasn’t what I expected in the end. It was a cute quick read. I needed more angst (grumpy characters) then what they were. I may have enjoyed this book at a different point in my life. It just didn’t vibe with me.

Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I have read a few of Sophie’s books and I have always loved her style.
Sophie deals with some very tough topics in this book. There are some really emotional scenes. The reason I like Sophie’s books is because they are realistic. You read things and think yes I get that or I totally understand how that character is feeling etc. there is nothing in there that you think woah I can’t relate to that at all.
I loved seeing Abbie and Matt's love story through the ages. I loved jumping back and forth and seeing the background to some of the chapters. I loved Operation Memory Lane and thought it was a very sweet thing to do. I loved the nostalgia of it all. I haven’t been with my fiance as long as Katie and Matt but I totally get the teaspoon anger. There have been things just like it that infuriate me.
This book will have you going through all the emotions from tears of laughter to tears of sadness. From those little smirks and smiles to full-on cringing (especially some of the 00’s fashion). If you are looking for a book that has all the romance and feels then this is for you.

Abbie and Matt are childhood sweetheart and have been together for 20 years. Abbie once wishes she would only ever kiss Matt for the rest of her life, but standing their kitchen looking at his dirty spoon on the side she now wants to kill him. Question she has to ask herself is, is there any hope for their relationship or is it time to walk away.

Firstly I found this to be one of the funniest books I have read this year. Abbie on the advice of her besties decides to starting recreating significant moments from their past. Honestly they are so funny as we get to read the actual event and then today. It’s written really well because it’s a true redmflection of modern relationships espically regarding working from home .
Honestly this was a very raw story about marriage with humor to make it easier to digest. I feel I had a better connection with Abbie but maybe because the book was told from her pov. Plus the love of cats was a surprise I must say but I found myself attached to the poor abandoned cat shrimp.

Let’s just say this one will leave you laughing, crying and satisfied easy 4 stars. Recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre pick this up and get stuck in.

Thanks to netgalley the author and publishers for the advanced digital copy of p.s I hare you in exchange for my fair and honest opinions .

I really enjoyed this book but I believe the title does not really fit the book. "Hate" is a strong word and I do not think at any point the characters hate each other. They might be frustrated with their situation, facing doubts about their relationship - but definitely not hate, not even close to it. Also, something about the title led me to believe that it would be a romcom, but the book definitely had more serious undertones (I am not complaining though)

While this book was very easy to read, the plot felt a bit unorganized. I understand that the Abbie and Matt were going through a rough patch in their marriage and they were both working together to fix that. But plot was all over the place. One moment they were trying to recreate their old memories, next moment they were adopting a cat. Abbie was working with a sex toy company. I thought it would come into play at some point but that did not happen. Abbie seemed close with her group of friends in the first half of the book, but then they were barely mentioned in the next half of the book. I wish we saw more of her bond with her friends and also her colleagues. I also do not understand how two characters who have been together for 20 years (since high school) have such major communication problem.

That being said, the book had many cute moments. The story how Matt and Abbie met and started dating was both hilarious and adorable. I loved how they realized their marriage was in a bad place and was willing to put in efforts to fix that. And I am glad that they finally learned how to communicate.

This is the first book I have read by Sophie Ranald and I enjoyed it.

an easy read where a married couple realise there lives together isn;t quite how it used to be.

It goes backwards and forwards but easy to follow and emotianal in parts.

A good read

Synopsis:
“Relationship: Hanging by a thread.
Sex life: Dead on arrival.
Alcohol: Essential.
It’s normal to hate the man of your dreams, right?
Once upon a time, Abbie and Matt had swoon-worthy mini breaks in Paris, and Abbie would cook him steak wearing nothing but an apron and high heels. These days, they’re experiencing the longest dry spell on record… And Abbie is keeping a very big secret.
But she’s not ready to give up. Nobody knows Abbie like Matt does, and it helps that he’s tall, dark and handsome, with hazel eyes and dimples to die for.”

This book was definitely not what I expected from the cover or blurb. It’s not a light romcom, but a dive into the relationship of a couple named Abbie and Max. They’ve been together, and happy, for years but their relationship is stalling as they approach their 9th wedding anniversary. Abbie thinks that maybe a trip down memory lane, literally, will help them rekindle their romance.
They’ve been happy together but not everything has worked out the way they thought it would so many years ago. They’ve got to move beyond the couple they used to be, and fall in love again.

Ultimately I enjoyed this book even though it had a few slow sections. 4 stars.

Trigger Warning: infertility, IVF failure.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was read thanks to NetGalley.

This book covers what happens after you realize that your marriage isn't working anymore, we follow a couple that realized that they weren't in sync like they used to, so she and her husband start working on what to do with their marriage, the way this book is written, is hard for people who have never been married, however, it does a great job to cover the daily task of marriage and how hard is for two people be together for years.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Sophie Ranald for providing me with an ARC of this novel.
I enjoyed the it! I liked the format of mainly being in the present but also going back to the past.
I think it's super relatable as often relationships do lose that spark and seeing the characters navigate the issues was good.
I highly recommend it!

I have not had the opportunity to read anything by Ms. Ranald before, so this was a first time read for me. Based on the title and cover I thought it to be a lighthearted rom com. While the story did have a lovely romance, it was more of a heartfelt story with and emotional journey of hope and second chances. Even though it was not quite what I expected, I still enjoyed it very much. Abbie and Matt have known each other most of their lives and are in fact childhood sweethearts who ended up marrying. Abbie is now at a stage where she feels the connection her and Matt once shared is not as strong anymore. Through various attempts, Abbie tried to salvage their relationship, but both of them have harbored secrets and as these secrets start to come out, issues begin to arise between them. Ms Ranald did a nice job of creating relatable and realistic characters. The story seems to been have written in the time of the COVID pandemic, but there really is no specific mention of it. It is sort of just in the background of the story, which was nice. This is a book that takes you past the happily ever after and into the realm of real life and I found myself rooting for Abbie and Matt the whole time. This was a cleverly written story with heart, humor, and emotion and I enjoyed it. I would definitely like to read more of Ms. Ranald's books in the future.
