This was a paranormal romantic suspense where I liked the suspense aspect better than the romance. It read like a mafia trope where 2 factions (the witches versus the vampires) were warring over a person. (Willa in this case) I found the first half of this story a slow read but the last half was where all the action happened so I found that quite exciting. I didn’t feel the romance since Willa and Killian didn’t really spend much time alone together to build an intimate relationship. However, there definitely was sizzle when they got together.

I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

Well, that was a quick read with a lot of potential. Honestly, if it had been fleshed out a bit more (who am I kidding, A LOT more) then it would have been a great story. Now it was just a little on the juvenile side, like a teenager wrote something smutty for the heck of it and posted it on Wattpad. But the potential was definitely there, so that's too bad, because I would have given this 4 stars if it was written better. Alas, it's gonna be 2 stars from me.

The paranormal romance strikes again! I was nursing a hangover from “The Ex Hex” when I saw this on @netgalley open to request. I’m so glad I found this as I LOVED it.

This is definitely a book for the fantasy lovers. There are covens and governments ran by vampires. And of course, for the ultimate successful romance book- the protagonist runs a book shop. I loved the twist on the witch’s familiar. Historically, it’s a black cat but in this book- it’s dragons.

I enjoyed the low fantasy world this book is set in. It is almost a dystopian notion, as it is a world following a war between vampires and humans. The plot isn’t jus focussed on the romance and there is a deeper, darker storyline.

The character development for Willa and Killian is spot on and it’s clear that the author has spent a significant amount of time on their back stories. And de-mist those reading glasses because this book is STEAMY and it’s written that perfectly that you are left wanting more.

I would say that I would like to know more about the characters and the world they live in, but I was gassed to find out that this is going to be a series and I’m obsessed. Stacey Kennedy, I need to get my hands on the second book!

WHAT THE FANG? is the first book in Stacey Kennedy’s “Undead Ever After” series. This story takes place in an alternate reality in which supernatural beings like vampires are out and about, and not hiding from humans. Willa Farrington is a mild-mannered witch who owns a book shop in Charleston. As a witch, Willa is basically a dud. Most days it doesn’t really bother her. She’s making her own way in the world and has two fab vampire BFFs. At the start of the story, some vampire baddies harass her and try to abduct her. That’s when he walks in – Killian Constantine. Killian is the vampire Warden of Charleston, and a tall, dark, and all-business hottie.

A big chunk of this story is about the past haunting the present. With her mother dead and her father unknown, there is the orphan vibe that Willa gives off. She’s not self-pitying, but you do feel sympathy for her. Willa has built stability in her life but, all of a sudden, various unknown forces seem determined to shatter her world. The witchy world played a big part in her upbringing up to a point, when she didn’t pass the magic test. This early rejection makes her a little conflicted when it comes to her witch heritage. By contrast, she finds some degree of acceptance from the vampire world. Specifically, her vampire customers and her two best friends. And when she finds herself in danger, it’s Killian who comes to her aide. Because Willa seems to be in danger from person or persons unknown for much of WHAT THE FANG?, I expected there to be the requisite conflict between the hero and heroine over her safety, and her sense of autonomy. Happily, that was not the case in this book. Killian is protective, without being smothering or condescending. Likewise, Willa wants to maintain her independence, but is cognizant of her limitations and the danger posed to her. As for the romance in WHAT THE FANG?, there are oodles of smoldering looks and sexual tension.

WHAT THE FANG? offers readers supernatural slugfests, sexy vampires, and a compelling romance. It will be interesting seeing how relationships evolve and what new conflicts arise in future books. Whatever the conflict, I hope that this hero and heroine remain on the same side and work together. I’d also like to see Willa’s friends find loves of their own eventually. I look forward to the next installment in Stacey Kennedy’s “Undead Ever After” series.

An enjoyable book but felt rushed. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters either as we didn’t really learn anything about them.

I was excited to be gifted this arc from netgalley because I just loved the premise and the look of the cover.

The good: Very quick read - if you're looking for a straightfoward story with very little twists and turns this is your book. May be a great easy read if you're in a book hangover. It's got fantasy and romance, with a little action thrown in. The friends of Wella are great - and I love this aspect of it!

The Bad: It's very fast burn - if you want that sort of thing then this is good. There is very little drama or dimension to their relationship other than falling for each other. (or being pulled toward each other). Wella takes everything as it comes and has very little 'reaction' above the normal cry and that's it. Again, it's fast paced so keep that in mind.

Overall, very sweet cute fantasy that kept me entertained for a few hours.

Tropes: Soulmate type relationship, Opposites (Vampire/witch) attract, Great Friendships.

Spice - 3/5
Story - 3/5

his was my first Stacey Kennedy and I throughly enjoyed it. Poor Willa has been outcast by her witch coven and finally is able to find her home in the vampire city of Charleston. She opens a book store, befriends two fantastic vampires named Finnick and Gwen, and is a happy dragon mom to a loveable Ambrose. One day her world turns on its head and she finds herself seeking the help of Warden of Charleston Killian. This was a very fast paced book, that I finished in one day. The characters are superb, the chemistry is sizzling and the storyline will keep you on your toes. I am already eager for the 2nd book and will be picking it up on pub day for sure.

Thanks to netgally for the Arc.

Fast paced, fun characters and a dragon! Enjoyed this book. I definitely would read the next in the series. Why not 5 stars then? For some reason the romance part just didn't work for me. It felt off. But read this anyway. Thanks #netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

I don't even know where to begin. I loved everything about this book! This story had everything I could possible want! Witches, a hot vampire, family, amazing friendships, a bookshop, steamy romance and A PET DRAGON! From the first chapter, this story just drew me in and I read it in one sitting.

We follow Willa, a witch who never came in to her power and was sent away by her coven. She opens a bookshop in a vampire town and leads a quiet life with here friends and her pet dragen (who is just the cutest thing ever!). Her quiet life turns upside down when she is suddenly attacked by vampires and she somehow accidentaly calls out to the vampire Warden of the town for help. She doesn't know why they where after her, but we start to suspect there is more to her than meets the eye.
There are so many elements to this story that wil keep you flipping the pages from the hearwarming romance, the found family and the lingering dangers that follow Willa.

The story ends up in a place that will leave you content, but we still get a hint of what is to come next. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series!

I recieved this book as an ARC through NetGalley, but I will absolutely be buying a physical copy when it comes out. I want this series on my shelves for sure!

In a world where vampires, witches and humans live side by side after a bloody war culminated in a peace treaty, a young witch called Willa who has no power runs a book shop in Charleston- a city belonging to vampires.
But then one night she's kidnapped by one of her customers and blacks out after mentally screaming for help.
When she wakes up, she's on the couch of the gorgeous, but stone cold Killian who is a vampire and warden of Charleston.
He claims she called him for help, but how since she has no magic? And who kidnapped her? What do they want with her?
This goofy, sweet mystery has more than a hint of romance. It's so much fun to read if you want something quick and easy that will make you laugh and smile.

"What the Fang?" like the name suggests was a very fun and very short novel about witches, vampires and a world that is a little different than ours. I really liked how much detail about witches and vampires the authors managed to put in even though the novel was really short. The conflict was interesting and considering there is another book coming, tied this one nicely over to the next book. The chemistry between the female and male character was nice and spicy parts were tasteful.
However, i think the book needed a little more length. It felt a little rushed, and the romantic development felt a little out of the blue. I understand why it was like this, and that there is a reason, but i would have still enjoyed if the characters got to know each other a little more before falling madly in love.
Also i think the female representation in this book could have been a little better. For example i would have like if the positions of Ari and Zara would have been changed. Right now all the powerful positions and characters seem to be male, and female characters were all a little underwhelming. They either needed help, or were bestet by male characters or sacrificed themselves. I am definitely looking forward to Willa becoming a badass in the second book and becoming the heroin I believe she can be. Also i hope we get a lot more of Finnick and Gwen in the second book.

Willa is a super adorbs witch and this book was quite the adventure. I enjoyed it and the fast pace of the story. I loved the romantic storyline between Willa and Killian. Warning: Contains dragons, witches, and a dragon! i gave this 3.5 stars!

I quite enjoyed reading this. It was extremely fast-paced, we got straight into the plot, things were moving right along. This did mean, though, that there was barely any character development happening, and we hardly got the chance to engage/ connect with the story. The romance was fine but a bit too 'insta-love', again, there was no development between them- just straight up wanting each other. Despite the blurb, this was not a forbidden romance, there were zero obstacles for their relationship. Some of the book was predictable but it was still light-hearted and fun.

I love witchy love stories, and if the author adds vampires to it, you've got me. These characters made me fall in love with them, mostly for their belief in the sacred love between souls.

Such a good and fun book to read, it gets at least a couple of smiles out of you. I just can't wait for book 2.

📑This ARC was granted to me through NetGalley and approved by Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

Alright, so I’ve mentioned before that I am not a “judge a book by its cover” kind of reader. That’s still true, but I have to confess that certain covers catch my attention and one of those types of covers include the cute cartoony ones. Ridiculous I know, but it is what it is. So, when I saw this one I couldn’t resist checking it out. The story is just as cute as the cover suggests, but there’s a lot more to Willa and this story than the cover reveals.

There are a lot of twists and turns in What the Fang and it turns out that nothing is quite what it seems and at times it’s hard to figure out who Willa should trust. One thing she does know is that someone is after her, she just has to figure out exactly who and more importantly why. She’s also determined to keep those she cares for safe, whether they like it our not.

I adored the story, I loved the supporting characters as well as Killian and Willa, the romance was as heated and intense as it was sweet, the action never really slowed down and as a bonus, the story included an adorable dragon. ❤ The only issue that I had was that the world building seemed to come in spurts. All things considered, that was minor because I really liked where this story ended up and the fact that there’s obviously more to come made it even better. Needless to say, taking a chance on that cute little cover paid off and I can’t wait for the Undead Ever After series to continue.

What's not to love? Witches, Vampires, and an adorable little dragon?

Stacey Kennedy had me hooked from the very first sentence.

This story starts out in a little bookshop in Charleston, owned by our main, a witch, named Willa.
Banished from her coven for having no powers she moved here to own a bookshop in a town full of vampires.
Things get heavy when she's attacked and the warden vampire of Charleston, Killian comes to her rescue.
Adventure and turmoil ensures.
Why is she being attacked?
Who is attacking her?
And why is she undeniably attracted to Killian?

I don't blame her, he's attractive, who wouldn't want to be with - that.
I enjoyed this story and found myself intensely involved in her story and wanted to know every twist and turn of this little adventure.
I was not disappointed and highly recommend this read!
Definitely worth the 5 stars!

This was read thanks to NetGalley,

I loved the character and their development and how good they interacted and how well set is this world, highly recommended.

I was thankfully gifted this ARC and aren’t I glad I was. This was my first Stacey Kennedy book, but she was far from unknown to be after so many people fawn over her books and I can see why.
This book has it all: a quirky main character who is comfortable in herself and who she is and the main love interest who sets you blood boiled and heart racing with the two best friends a gal could ask for.
But the story wasn’t just a spicy one between these two, and trust me there is spice, but also a twisty plot that unfolds brilliantly. I cannot wait for book two!!

Oh what fun! This tale tells of a young woman who is different. She’s a witch with no powers living in a town run by vampires. Through this story she finds herself and love. A fantastic romp of self discovery.
