I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you NetGalley and Stacey Kennedy.

After being shunned by her coven for not passing the Summer Solstice Rite. Willa Farrington moves to Charleston, a city now run by vampires. She opens a bookstore and unexpectedly makes friends in the vampire community.

One day. some strange vampires visit her bookstore and when she's leaving for the night, they attack her. Out of nowhere, Killian Constantine, the Warden of Charleston, shows up to save her. Unbeknownst as to how (as she is a powerless witch), she summoned him telepathically.

Since she's clearly in danger and he's highly intrigued by this course of events, they set out to try to find out what's behind the attacks. As they get closer, the attraction between them becomes stomper, but a liaison between a vampire is still frowned upon and  she's unsure of how to respond to it.

With her life in danger and having so many questions about her own identity, Willa puts her life in the hands of the vampires and hopes for the best.

I absolutely loved this book! It starts with the fact that she has a freaking pet dragon! A baby dragon! A tiny thing that she can carry in her arms and that, like her, is a little broken (he can't breathe fire - just "sneeze" some sparks). The romance is of the "fated mate", swoony, dreamy kind and when they get together they combust!

The turn of events in the end is a little expected but it's a great fun!

Great secondary characters and lore development, but I wanted to know more about the witches, but since it's book 1, I hope to see more of them in the next one. Great fun!

Possible triggers: violent attacks, a beheading on page

This was a fun and entertaining read.

A fast paced page turner that also packs some steam.

A HFN ending and although part of a series, everything has been tied up nicely and no cliff hanger to leave you pining for the next installment.

What the Fang? is a laugh out loud fantastic paranormal read. I loved this one so much. You are going to be thrown into the world of vampires and witches as you get to know Killian and Willa. Willa is the cast-off witch who never got her powers with a loveable dragon pet. Killian is an older vampire and Warden of Charleston. You are going to fall in love with this book so hard. I love the chemistry between Willa and Killian as they discover the reasons behind Willa not having her powers and the pull between the two of them. Killian is so swoony. Willa is sweet and will have you giggling. I could not get enough of this and cannot wait for more Undead Ever After. This whole read put a smile on my face. You need to one click this fun read today.

Willa Farrington’s magic is broken. Shunned by her coven for failing to pass the Summer Solstice Rite, Willa escapes to the one place no witch belongs – Charleston, a city that belongs to vampires. Determined to embrace her new life, Willa opens Cauldron Boil Books, and unexpectedly finds some friends among the vampires. Until one terrible night Willa ends up on the wrong side of a pair of fangs. Thankfully, her captor’s plan is ruined when Killian Constantine, the drop-dead gorgeous Warden of Charleston, shows up to save her. Intent on finding answers, the two embark on a journey to unravel the mystery behind Willa’s attack and their unusual connection.
This is the first is this two part series & I found it to be well written but I also found things to be a bit rushed, I would have liked it to be longer so that things could be developed more. I did like Willa & Killian but I didn’t love them. That said it was a fun, quick read but all ends seemed to be tied up I wonder what the next book will bring
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Willa is a witch without any powers. Having been banished by the witch council, she moved to Charleston and opened a book store for vampires. She happens to be the only witch in town, but that's ok. Her kind does not want her. When something strange happens at her store and she is subsequently kidnapped, Willa must find out why. She is at the mercy of the local Warden of vampires for help. It just so happens that Killian not only is the most powerful vampire in the area but he is hot to boot.
Opinion
If you follow my reviews, you know that I love paranormal romances. This one is absolutely delightful. Who wouldn't love a story where the main character had a pet dragon? From the beginning, Kennedy had me vested in the story. This is a one sitting book, easily devoured. I think the best part is that is the beginning of a fun new series.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Stacey Kennedy for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Wow, I read this book so quickly! It had all the things I love - witches, vampires, smut, and magic! As book#1 for a series, I am surely hooked.

Willa is a witch, but she never grew into her powers. She lost her mother at an early age and never knew her dad. Being raised by her aunt, the leader of her set of witches, she was particularly disappointed when she was shunned upon not showing any signs of magic. She's resigned herself to her new life, even embracing her misfit status by being the only witch running a business in vampire run town. Vampires are "out" in this world, but have segregated themselves by "owning" key towns in the US. They are OK with Willa in one of their towns for the most part, probably only because she hasn't presented any powers so is pretty much human.

The big shift for her happens when she is suddenly attacked and promptly rescued by vampires. Sounds confusing, and it is, but it brings Killian, the warden of her town, into her life. Willa, however, is a force to be reckoned with. She's awesome in just about every way in her handling of the twists and turns of her new life. Oh, and her friends are AWESOME. In fact, all of these characters are amazing.

The big story here, without spoiling anything, is that Willa's life comes with some mysteries. All those mysteries end up coming out in sudden ways, leading her into a whole new future. Killian is the vampire entering her life for the most part, with smutty goodness. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book to see what antics everyone gets up to.

I love this book, it's different from the paranormal books I've read over the years since I started mostly reading adult books. For starters, the pacing is quite fast. With just the first chapter, you get a pretty good idea of the plot, and you get to know the character as you go further into the book. Personally, I don't mind that approach, it didn't give me any chance to get bored, and it still managed to flesh out the characters.

It's in first POV, which I initially thought I wouldn't like just because I prefer my romance books to be dual perspective if it's told in first POV. Surprisingly, I didn't get bothered by that in this book, I think because it didn't wholly focus on the romance.

I LOVE AMBROSE. He's so adorable! The addition of him to this story really upped the entertainment factor. There was no dull moment where he was concerned.

The conflict was really good. I thought I had it all figured out but then it changed track, only to have more twists. Despite all this, it was never confusing.

In terms of characters, I love pretty much all of them. Even if they're not fleshed out to the T, at least we got a thinking heroine, she wasn't stubborn for a heroine in a paranormal/fantasy book. I liked that she knew when to help and when to step back so she wouldn't be a burden. I love Gwen and Finnick almost equally, but Finnick's sense of humor gives him an edge.

And Killian...he's a dream. He was so sweet and protective but his aggression wasn't overly done, which was perfect, in my opinion.

I couldn't give this five stars because even though it has an HEA, the conflict was not fully resolved. It would've been nice if they tied up everything and if they wanted a sequel or for this to be a series, it could've covered Willa's adventures alongside the vampires instead of following the timeline of the conflict. It's not a total turnoff, but I much prefer my books to be completed -- companion series over an actual series.

Nonetheless, if you want a light and fast-paced paranormal romance book, pick this up! I'll also have a review up on my blog, in case you're interested as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed this fun and thrilling paranormal romance.

Willa is a witch without any magic and settles herself in Charleston to live among the vampires, who are more accepting. She also runs a bookstore, which I love. Right from the get go What the Fang? takes you on a wild ride. There's kidnapping, teleporting, witches and vampires gone rogue, family drama.

While the connect between Willa and Killian was on the instalove side, you absolutely believe in the end, especially considering all the things that go down. I really appreciated Killian, especially since while he wanted to wrap Willa up he did not and asked her to make a good choice rather than demand.

I can't wait to see what the next book has in store for them!

Some parts I really liked and others not so much. The cover (I'd buy a copy just to be able to look at it), blurb (put me right in the mood for some lively paranormal romance) and world building are all amazing. Particularly, I really enjoyed how detailed and well thought out the world this story is set on was.

But I found the pacing to be really off. There's quick paced and then there's rushed, and while this story strived for the first one, I felt like it ultimately ended up veering in the second direction. Maybe that was because of how much needed to be squeezed into under 200 pages? I don't know. All I know is that it didn't work for me.

The book delivered in everything the synopsis promised, but it was done in such a way that I found really awkward and clumsy. Everything happened SO FAST. And between that and the somewhat repetitive writing, I had a hard time connecting to the characters and story.

Ultimately, this book didn't work out for me, but I seem to be in the vast minority, so give it a shot if it sounds like something you'd enjoy.

I want to give this review with the caveat that I’m not normally a fan of paranormal romance. I can read it sometimes if I’m really interested in the story or the characters but it doesn’t happen that often.

After all of that, I want to express how much I loved reading What the Fang! Let’s start with the cover. It’s adorable and for some reason made me think of Bewitched. So that drew me in first, followed closely by the title, and finally the blurb. Everything about it made me want to devour it. And devour it I did.

I read it in less than a day and was so sad that I came upon the end. Not only did I really enjoy the main characters, but I also fell in love with the supporting characters. I want a dragon just like Ambrose or at least a pet that acts just like him. Killian was the brooding alpha on the outside but you could just see what Willa did to him without even trying and she had to figure it out on her own. While it does end with an HFN, the ending leads into the next book without it being a cliffhanger really. I’m sad I have to wait so long for its release but I know it’ll be worth it. Hoping to get more of Willa and Killian’s relationship as it continues.

This book is the perfect balance between fantasy, wholesome characters and spicy romance. "What the fang" tells the story of a witch without powers who lives in a vampire city with her cute cat-dragon (he reminded me so much of my little demon cat). She owns a bookshop (my dream job) and lives a quiet life until vampires start attacking her.

I really enjoyed all the characters, Willa is a joyful character that doesn't dwell on the fact that she is powerless and just enjoys her calm life. Her vampire friends are super fun and wholesome and I even liked the love interest. Being a short book the pacing is a bit fast but it doesn't feel rushed as it keeps the same rhythm throughout the whole narrative. Even though the plot twists were a bit predictable it's like a Disney movie: you kinda know the ending but you're enjoying so much the journey that you are just going with the flow and letting yourself have fun.

I will definitely pick up the sequel but I'm happy this doesn't end in a cliffhanger!

Just finished an ARC of What the Fang. This was a fun, fast paced, supernatural read! Willa is your not so average witch next door, living without her powers in a city of vampires.Witches and vampires aren’t natural pals. You quickly fall in love with Willa and her journey to finding her magic. It helps that there is a very attractive vampire that is there along the way. You are left wanting to see what trouble she gets into next!

I always love a good witch and vampire book!

This was a fun and fast paced read in the supernormal genre. The story follows Willa the witch who is living in the city full off vampires but without her powers.

Along her journey to find her powers Willa of course comes across a very sexy vampire.

Overall this was a great book and I am looking forward to the next one!

Thank you Stacey Kennedy and NetGalley for the ARC of What the Fang!

Danger, mystery, and some forbidden romance- this book was everything I was hoping for and more! A powerless witch living in a vampire city, it was perfect! The drama and action start right off and had me hooked from the first chapter. I adored all of the characters, can’t wait to see what happens with them next!

I loved this book. Willa and Kilian were amazing. You don't get too many stories about witch and vampire couples so I really enjoyed this. Her friends added a lot of spice and her family a lot of love. Looking forward to the next book

Hmm, this is a tricky one. Although I didn't necessarily dislike this book, because of some of the decisions the author made in this first instalment, I now have no interest in carrying on with further books.

Let me try to explain without spoilers.

First, let's start with the good bit, the beginning, where I was more than happy and even updated my Goodreads status to say, "Really liking this so far", or something to that effect. It was bright and fun. There was a pet dragon, the beginnings of some nice worldbuilding; the main character seemed cool and interesting (why did she never develop her witchy powers?). There were some awesome, sassy best friends and then whoop-whoop! There was a hot vampire on the scene... What more could this Urban Fantasy mega-fan possibly want?

Well, my problem now seems to be that the author gave me everything I might ever want for this character regarding her powers, her love life and any and all future mysteries surrounding her ALL IN THIS BOOK!

I actually went back on Goodreads because I was sure I must be mistaken, this must be a standalone Paranormal Romance, not book one of an ongoing series and that's why everything was getting wrapped up with a neat bow because there are no more books coming.

But, no. It's definitely only book one of a UF and believe me when I say, literally nothing was left for me to read on for, everything happened, everything was fixed, instalove was done and dusted. The end.

So it will be the end for me, I'm afraid.

What a shame.

While this was an easy read… there were quite a bit of cheesy cliches.. the storyline could have been deeper, but I sure kept turning each page. Killian is obviously dreamy, and Willa is a likeable main character. She is loyal to her two best friends, and who doesn’t love an adorable dragon companion.

This is one of those series that you love but you really can’t pinpoint exactly what it is about it that Keeper you coming back for more.

I feel like the bones to an epic fantasy story are all there. There is a great villain.. fun different magical abilities. Several different fantastical beings.. even fated mates is a trope I do love. I will definitely be reading the next books in this series.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. I do not typically read fantasy but I loved this book. It is Vampire Diaries meets Twilight in the best way. In this book, Stacey Kennedy created an alternate reality for the United States where vampires and humans can co-exist. Vampires signed a peace treaty with the U.S. government and have full jurisdiction in Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA, and New Orleans, LA. I thought this was an interesting concept - vampires living in historically haunted cities. Humans tend to stay away from these cities for obvious reasons.

Willa Farrington is a young witch who flunked out of training before receiving her powers. She lives in Charleston, SC which is full of vampires. There are still unresolved issues between vampires and witches but they generally accept her. She owns a book shop there. All is well until she is attacked by a group of vampires. She must face the truth about herself and her family.

I liked learning about the witch and vampire customs in this book. In some fantasy books, it is hard to follow along with all of the unfamiliar terms. The author did a wonderful job laying out the world in this book.

The book is just under 200 pages. I wish it was longer so I will definitely be reading the sequel when it comes out.

The first book in a new series by Stacey Kennedy, What the Fang? follows Willa Farrington, a witch without magic. Banished from her coven years ago, Willa makes her home in the vampire-led city of Charleston. When she is attacked by vampires one night after work, Willa is rescued by the enigmatic and dangerous Killian Constantine, who is a vampire and the Warden of Charleston.

Killian doesn’t know why he could hear Willa’s pleas for help, but after seeing her attack, he suspects Willa’s danger is only beginning. Killian promises to keep Willa safe, but the stakes get higher and more deadly, and shocking revelations change everything. Will Killian be able to protect the witch he’s starting to fall for?

This is such a quick and fun read! I loved the characters and the story, and most especially the romance!! The world-building is also really immersive and intriguing. This is a world where witches and vampires live openly among humans and have created laws and rules to abide by. Though they have reached a tentative peace, power-hungry, blood-thirsty, and vengeful beings threaten to destroy everything leaders have worked so hard to create. Willa and Killian are drawn into many dangerous and potentially deadly situations, and they must figure out how Willa’s past relates to what is happening to her in the present.

Willa is a great protagonist, and I really enjoyed her character’s journey. She is strong and resilient, and though she’s led a difficult life of tragedy and eventual rejection, she maintains a great outlook. And Killian is a dreamy hero! I love a dark, mysterious, brooding love interest who is tender and loving underneath. That’s Killian! A powerful vampire and right hand to the leader, Killian has a reputation and is feared and respected by everyone. Of course, he’s much different when with Willa, as he lets her see past his stoic and intimidating façade.

The romance between Killian and Willa is fast-building and filled with chemistry. The sparks really fly with these two, and it’s pretty clear they have a connection from the start. Willa and Killian have great banter, and I love how they confide in and trust each other. The story also highlights some amazing friendships, and I really enjoyed this aspect of the novel. The found family element is strong, both in Willa’s and Killian’s lives, and there are some wonderful messages about friendship, family, and love. And Willa’s dragon is the cutest, fiercest, little protector, and I need one of my own! He was such a sweet and fun addition to the story, and I love the connection he has with Killian. So cute!

What the Fang? is a great story for readers who enjoy paranormal romances with mystery, humor, suspense, great characters, and a few plot twists to keep you on your toes. Thanks so much to the author and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
