Thank you to the publisher for the review copy! I just couldn't get in the mood for this one, but I do love this author!

A cute story with a sweet dog? Add turtles to the mix and what do you get? A great story that makes for excellent light reading.

The text was a bit convoluted that set me back a bit. But otherwise, I quite enjoyed it.

3 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC.

If you enjoy series with recurring characters then you’ll like this book. The meddling old ladies are at it again, this time their matchmaking involves a “Mermaid” and the new director of the Turtle Island Aquarium. It's bonkers, and I had a good time. Honestly, I probably won't think about this book ever again, but it sure was a good time.

I really tried to get into it, i did. I tried multiple times but i was just never hooked, which is really sad, because the cover is so cute!

Super cute romance! No spice. Read if you like meddling octogenarians, sea turtles, and dogs. Bonus points for the FMC who dresses like a mermaid and has a dog named Ursula.

When Molly's puppy Ursula keeps disrupting the beachfront area where marine biologist Max is studying sea turtle mating habits. Ursula won't stop digging in Max's beachfront yard and reveals her unique ability to sniff out sea turtle nests. The two team up (with Ursula’s help) to save the sea turtles.

So, I didn’t think I would like this because I didn’t like the first book in the series - BUT there was a Cavalier on the front cover, so I had to try it. I didn’t like it.

The cover really drew me in and the story was definitely a great storyline with lots of love and laughter. And any story can be made better with a dog in it!

A light hearted summer read, perfect for picking up on those days when you are sitting besides the pool or on the sand at the beach.

This book might not be for everyone but it gave me a wonderful escape.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for a copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

This was a cute book and a fun summer read (even though it is now technically fall). It is the perfect recipe for a lighthearted summer romance - puppies, mermaids, turtles, and meddling old people. Were the main people conventionally attractive? Of course. Did I hope for some more elaboration on their backstory that was making them act certain ways? Sure. Did I want more diversity in the characters? Always. Did any of these things but me too much to enjoy it? No - it was a lighthearted book that I could just enjoy and not think too hard about. This book is the second book set at Turtle Beach, and it was nice to see some familiar characters. I enjoyed the growth Molly and Max had, and I liked that the relationship developed at a rate that seemed natural. I would honestly like to read a continuation of their story since I want to know more about turtles and Ursula the puppy, but I think it had a satisfying ending as well. It was a good time and easy read.

This book was okay. It was cute at times and a fun one if you’re looking for a light, fast-paced and quick read. I was a big fan of the scene stealing puppy.

This was a cute book, but it definitely wasn’t for me. This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. It’s closed door romance with barely any kissing. It’s a cute book, but not my favorite type of romance.

A sweet and delicate romance perfect for any beach read. I loved the idea of trainings dogs to scent out turtle nests to ensure protection for the hatchlings! Fun idea, fun story and even funnier characters (LOVE OPAL)!

3.5/5 stars (rounded up to 4)

I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

When Max returns to Turtle Beach to take over the aquarium as the new director, he's shocked to find that it's financially struggling. He has to make some budget cuts and decides to start with the aquarium's mermaid, Molly, and her cute dog. However, it soon becomes clear that Max will need Molly's help if he truly wants to save the aquarium.

This was such a cute read! It had a lot of tropes I enjoy, including enemies to lovers, grumpy x sunshine, and opposites attract. It also takes place in a small coastal town with meddling townspeople and lots of dogs. If you enjoy any of the above tropes, I think this book would make a great summer read!

I did wish the romance was focused on a little more to make Max and Molly's relationship more believable, but I was still rooting for them to get together!

I would definitely suggest this to fans of small town romances, especially if you like dogs!

I loved a lot about this book including how they met, but the hero was not for me! I liked the cast of characters and the small town!

Read this book if you like: Dual POV, grumpy sunshine, dogs, coworkers, saving a business, slow burn

This was so adorable. The meet-cute was awesome. Molly and Max have a bit of banter, which is perfectly done. The characters are well-developed. There are lots of people in the town, yet it's not confusing. It's so funny, sweet, and there are plenty of dogs. I love a good "business saving" story. This was good. It's definitely a slow burn as far as the romance goes. There also isn't a lot of romance and tension, in my opinion. It takes a backseat to the rest of the story. I still loved it. I highly recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the gifted e-book! ❤️

This was a sweet romance that had an adorable premise with a woman who dresses as a mermaid and a marine biologist who cannot seem to get along. With a feisty group of seniors who are intent on matchmaking and a rambunctious pup who continuously causes trouble between Max and Molly I loved the idea of this book. It sounded like the perfect read to remind me of summer. While I enjoyed the characters, and found a lot of this book hilarious, some parts I felt the pacing was a little slow and I found myself setting this book aside. I’ve loved other books by this author so I eventually finished it. While I did enjoy it overall, it just wasn’t a story that pulled me in completely.

How cute! I had no idea this was part of a series, but this adorable small town definitely has me wanting to read the first one. The town of Turtle Beach loves dogs, its elderly population, BINGO, cupcakes, and of course, sea turtles. When buttoned-up Max moves to town, he isn't exactly a good fit. Until Molly and her puppy Ursula charm him into loosening up, that is.

The side characters in this book were unmatched--both humans and dogs. I love a rom-com that features meddling old folks! Ursula was adorable and stole the show, especially when she discovered her unique talent. I also loved the sea turtle project and the initiative to save the island's ecosystem.

The romance was honestly a bit overshadowed by all the side-plots, but not in a bad way. It just took a back seat and felt a little rushed at the end--too much time as enemies and not enough as lovers!

It looks like I'll be reading this series out of order. Will the bookstore owner get her own book next?

Book 2 in the series was just as good as book 1.

I love Ursula - she may be my favorite character.
Max, a biologist is studying turtle mating habits
Molly, a mermaid at the aquarium.
Ursula, cutest puppy ever able to sniff out sea turtle nests who works her magic to have Molly and Max fall head over heels for each other.
I love a feel good rom-com

I just reviewed A Line in the Sand by Teri Wilson. #NetGalley

I didn’t love this. It was so predictable and was very insta-lovey (which I’m not a big fan of). Honestly I found both main characters kind of annoying. I considered DNFing but was listening on audio so just put on 2x speed to get through it faster. I like the sea turtle aspect of the plot but honestly it was one of the only things I liked about this.
