Don’t hate me, but I really found the main character a bit too annoying for my taste. Molly was a bit too much throughout the whole book. I don’t understand why she could not chill for a bit. I understand she wanted a break from dating, but did she really? Throughout the whole book, she kept swooning over this marine biologist, Max. And I did not feel the connection between Molly and Max.

A line in the Sand is a cute fairy tail story about a girl, a guy and a dog. I love how the author brings conservation to the book. Sea turtles are amazing creatures that have a special place in the story.
Molly is a mermaid at a local aquarium and Max is the new director. Things start off Rocky, especially when Molly's dog Ursala comes in. Max isn't so fond of the dog but she wiggles her way into his heart, just like Molly does.
I was hoping for more dog finding sea turtle nests, but it was the cutest thing! This book really was a special book that I could definitely see myself re-reading.

So, where do I start? Yes, I had high hope for this book. However, I was very disappointed with it. This didn't really seem like an adult or even a young adult novel. This book seemed to be geared more towards the pre-teen crowd.
Several things I really disliked were that there was truly nothing about the main characters that made me 'feel' anything for them. They were childish, self-absorbed, immature, and silly. Also, the overabundance of dogs was a put-off for me; although dog lovers may like this aspect, I suspect that even the most avid dog-lover will be a bit put off by this many pups.
These are some things that I did like:
Clean -no sex whatsoever, just a lot of thinking about kissing. Sometimes I just need a book with no heaving chests, passionate thoughts, or explicit descriptions of sex. No, I'm not a prude-but I have to be in the mood!!!
Some people won't like the elderly people in this story-it is the one trope that I did love. However, I like the trope of the feisty elderly person, and the twist at the end of the book made this aspect even better.
I did like the idea of the dogs being able to sniff out the turtle's nests. It would be cool if they really could do such a thing.
I loved learning more about how a rescue center like this works, and I also liked learning more about the sea horses.
All in all, this was not a horrible book; it was just a bit too fairytale-ish for my tastes.

A Line in the Sand by Teri Wilson
Turtle Beach series book 2. Contemporary romantic comedy. Can be read as a stand-alone but some characters from the first book play a role though minor.
He fired the mermaid. And her dog that was dressed as a lobster. Even though she had saved his life the previous day from drowning.
Molly loves the aquarium. She loves the children that visit and the social benevolence of saving the sea turtles on the local beaches. What else will she do now that she’s been fired?
Never fear, the elderly group of locals have a plan.
A fun romp of discovering the joy of living and loving in the moment as Max learns more about island life, while being put through the paces of yoga, bingo, wheelchair volleyball, and a Cavalier King Charles puppy that simply adores him.
The interfering elderly were a hoot!

Aaaah! So cute!
I had so much fun with this book!
Molly and Max just too cute!
I really liked the dynamic of the characters here having Max start out the way he did helped make the story seem real. This a great romcom for the end of summer!

The story of Max and Molly who meet when he moves to town. There first meeting she saves him, but then their encounters lead to her losing her job. How will they cope as neighbours?
A great read, looking forward to more books in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for the opportunity to read this book.
This book is about Molly, who works as a mermaid in an aquarium of Turtle Island, along with her puppy Ursula, when suddenly everyone wants to pair her with Max, the new director of the aquarium.
This is small town semi-clean romance. A nice reading for summer.

I love Teri Wilson's work! All of her books have a definite Hallmark-y feel and leave you feeling happy and optimistic after you finish them. I need this in my life!
A Line in the Sand is an enemies-to-lovers romance that involves a lot of adorable dogs and amazing sea life. Max returns to the island to take over running the aquarium so his Uncle Henry can enjoy his golden years. He jumps in without having the greatest of understandings of the inner workings of the aquarium and its employees. One of his first acts was to fire Molly the Mermaid and her little puppy pal Ursula. BIG MISTAKE! Molly is the darling of the island and a vital employee at the aquarium. The islanders don't like the man who picks on their Molly!
Max has a lot of realizations to make and he discovers a lot of things about himself in the story. Apart from the great people interactions, we get to learn a little about sea turtles and seahorses! I loved it! More drama comes in when we learn the aquarium is borderline bankrupt and Max has to figure out a way to save it. Can he do it alone or can he sweet talk a certain mermaid to help?!

✨ PRINCEMAN REVIEW ✨
Debate question: Are animals support for us humans, or are we support humans for animals?
A Line in the Sand by Teri Wilson had me thinking about this a lot! I instantly wanted to read this book since a Cavalier King Charles was on the front. 🐶 I was cracking up 😂 the whole time because Ursula, the dog in this book, reminds me EXACTLY of Prince! I can tell Wilson owns a Cavalier because they are super "needy" dogs.
📝: Half of Molly's heart and soul lies with the aquarium in her small-town beach community. The other half is with her King Charles Cavalier.
Max is new to town as the aquarium's director. He's feeling the pressure of financial issues, and cuts Molly's job due to budget cuts. While they may not see eye-to-eye, saving turtles 🐢 is something they can both agree on. Can they work together to save the aquarium?
What I 🤍:
🐶 Ursula, the Cavalier
☀️ Grumpy x Sunshine Troupe
💕 Lighthearted, Fun Read
🧜♀️ Aquarium/Coastal Setting
👵👵👵 Meddling "OG Charle's Angels"
This was such a fun read! It was pure escapism offering a sweet, clean romance. 💕 I absolutely adored all the side characters in this novel. The 3 meddling ladies were the best matchmakers and brought all the fun shenanigans! 😂
Prince's Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Steaminess: 🔥 (Kiss)
Read if ➡️: You need a light, sweet, escapism read. Perfect to read after reading a scary thriller.
Overall, I loved the setting and plot line. This would make the perfect Hallmark Movie. I did feel like the chemistry was lacking between the two main characters. Molly felt a bit immature for someone in their late 20s and Max came off hot/cold too much for me. This is a miscommunication troupe, so it's perfect who love that storyline.

I enjoy this book, I think it’s a perfect Beach Read for this summer! Funny and sparkly romance 😍
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the book

Just like with the first book in this series, A Line in the Sand is the perfect easy summer romance. There's very little in the way of plot, but a whole lot of sugary sweet fluff that could bring a smile to anyone's face.
Complete with an adorable tracker dog, a touch of enemies to lovers, a sea turtle hatching date, and an aquarium to save, this books was a delightful read. The only complaint I would have is about the pacing. Some parts felt rushed, and some parts dragged, but most of all was the abrupt ending of the book. Other than that, I really enjoyed reading this installment in the Turke Beach series.

What a fun new book from Teri Wilson! I loved returning to Turtle Bay for Max and Molly's love story. This one was a little slower than A Spot of Trouble, the number of interrupted potential kisses was a little high for me. My favorite part was actually a tender conversation between Molly and her Father near the end. Much like the first book the OG Charlie's Angel's kept up with their crazy schemes, those old gals really know how to get a couple together! It's sweet, it's fun and it's a perfect beach read for the summer! If you love mermaids and a good romcom, definitely check this one out!

This is the second in the Turtle Beach series. I love when there are elderly characters cause they just don't have any qualms about pushing things to go the way they think they should. They are usually right so listen to your elders.
Ursula the puppy was such a huge character from the start. She's a conversation starter, a problem solver, a matchmaker.
I loved the enemies to lovers romance between the mermaid entertainer and the new Aquarium director, Molly and Max. I loved his uncle's motives for getting him to move to the island to help him save the aquarium. Also her dad's motivations for being so hard on her and trying to get her to go back to school for her PhD.
I want to eat all of a Violet's yummy treats and be in her yoga class.
I loved the sea turtle project and who was helping find the nests. I've always been fascinated by watching the babies find their way to the sea.
Thank you sourcebookscasa and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

When marine biologist Max takes over his uncle's small-town aquarium, it's just barely getting by. He feels like he has no choice but to fire mermaid-costumed Molly (along with her lobster-costumed cavalier King Charles spaniel puppy). He doesn't realize how integral Molly is to the attraction's success. When the two turn out to be neighbors, sparks fly between them. Can they get over their initial prejudices?
This book is every bit as cute as the cover. I just want to take it in my arms and squish it like a plush toy. Molly is quirky and fun, Max is nerdy and cute, and the townspeople are a hoot. If you're looking for a smart, fun, heartwarming summer romance, look no further.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

As soon as I saw the cover I just knew I had to read this book!
A Line in the Sand was a cute and quirky story, perfect for when you want just a light read. It has a small town, cute dogs and turtles! Couldn’t ask for better!
I loved everything about the premise but after that things fell a little bit too flat, specifically the romance that just wasn’t sitting right with me. Unfortunately I had a hard time connecting with the characters, specifically Max, who I think was a bit too harsh on Molly. Their chemistry was a bit off.
But Ursula the puppy stole the show and made me forget about all that!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Rather cute rom-com, especially loved Charlie's Angels. Nothing really made it spectacular but it was cute and fun, if that's what you're looking for!

This book is about a girl named Molly who works as a mermaid at the local aquarium/marine animal rescue that specializes in helping sea turtles. Molly’s little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy Ursula goes everywhere with her and even works at the aquarium in a crab costume. That is until Max the aquarium’s new Director fires her and Ursula stating that they are “scientifically insignificant.”
The town is upset, and make life really hard on Newcomer Max not to mention he starts to realize how much Molly did for the benefit of the aquarium. It’s not long before he’s begging her to come back.
When I first saw the cover of this book I knew I had to read it! It was a quick and easy breezy read for me. It was a cute story and I loved watching the town rally around Molly after she is let go. Max is a brainiac and can’t always see that sometimes fantasy adds to the magic of real life. The ending of the book is exciting when they discover Ursula’s secret talent. I love all the work that the town puts in to helping Sea Turtles. Something that was missing for me was the connection between Max and Molly. I just never felt the spark between the characters.
If your looking for a sweet romance that was made for an animal lover this book is for you ❤️

This was a cute beach read. The characters were likeable and the setting was quaint. A lot of it seemed a little implausible but the overall story held my interest and kept me reading. The romance itself didn’t really work for me. It was hard to believe and barely came together at the end. Recommended for a fun beach or vacation read.

Rating: 3
A Line in the Sand was an okay read. While, there were several moments I enjoyed the romance just really wasn’t my favorite.
This is the second book in the Turtle Beach series but can absolutely be read as a standalone. It is dual POVs of the main characters as well and has some great tropes like: opposites attract, a small town, slow burn and slight work place romance.
The premise of the story was quite enjoyable and well written. I loved the aquarium, the turtles, the doggies, and all the meddling old folks.
The romance on the other hand just felt very underdeveloped. There was really no emotional connection between the main characters and while they did have some cute moments, I just didn’t understand how they got to the “I love you stage.” So I did have a hard time just believing in their romance.
The last few chapters and ending were quite rushed as well, but there was still a heartwarming conclusion. I will say though, I would have liked an epilogue. Overall, just a quick and lighthearted read.
