As an Egyptophile, I gravitated toward this book. It focuses on a woman and her brother who visit their aunt in Egypt. The aunt suggests that they cruise down the Nile with an archaeologist friend, who turns out to be a romantic interest for the young woman. It's the typical hate-to-love relationship that is common in romance novels. The archeological details are a bit sketchy, and one also wonders why they would travel there in the summer. I would have liked to see more archaeology and a bit less of the interpersonal drama. Just a bit too light-weight for my tastes.

Unfortunately, the book disappeared from my mobile so I was unable to read it.

What a pity!!!!

I wish you lots of luck with the book.

I picked up this book on NetGalley because I was intrigued by the title, but ultimately came away disappointed. Love on the Nile tells the story of Natasha and handsome archeologist Kyle who find themselves on a 10 day sail down the Nile River. A bucket list trip for Natasha and her brother Nicky, this overly cliche but non descriptive story follows the classic enemies to lovers trope without ever spending enough time to develop the characters.

I wish I could leave a more thorough review, but all in all I was disappointed that Gray didn’t spend more time developing the characters, the plot line, or even the amazing back drop of Egypt and it’s history considering how obsessed the main character was with it.

I made it through, but for a while this was a DNF contender for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchanged for the honest review!

Love on the Nile I knew would be the book for me - a little romance, cruising down the Nile - where do I sign up? Many years ago, I had such an adventure and was so pleased to revisit and relive both the locale and my great love of this idyllic place. It was the perfect combination of romance and realism with the places visited along the way.

‘From an early age, she had developed a keen interest - some might say an obsession - with Ancient Egypt and, as a teenager, was hardly to be seen without a book on the subject.’

Egypt was always on my bucket list since I studied it in the first year of high school. All my dreams came true once I found myself staring up at the Sphinx. Ellie has done a superb job in recounting trips from Cairo to Luxor. It is as if you are there walking amongst the ruins or crawling into the tombs.

Add to this once in a lifetime trip some well written romance and it is almost perfect. I really enjoyed all the characters in this story as they were likeable, particularly Natasha’s brother, Nicky. It is also great that Ellie writes from the perspective of both Natasha and Kyle thus enabling the reader to understand both points of view.

This is a sweet romance along the majestic Nile River with day trips to exotic locations and likeable leads, what’s not to love?

‘Natasha couldn’t help but smile with happiness. This was the Egypt she had dreamed about: camels, sand, dust, searing heat, and an ancient city … the fulfilment of a lifetime’s ambition..’

What an enjoyable read. Romance while floating down the Nile. Loved the characters specially Nicky the brother. The description of the places they visit makes you feel like you are actually there.

The cover is very attractive, and the blurb interesting. The setting fascinated me, however the story is more focused on the couple. It would have been better if the descriptions of the place were more vivid. I like the Meidum adventure though.

It's a nice, romantic story. The characters are interesting, I liked their chemistry. However, I felt it was slow paced, plus a bit repetitive.

Overall, a light interesting read.

I picked up this book as even if the genre is out of my usual, the abstract looked interesting and I hoped for some vivid descriptions of Egypt, it’s culture, rich history and locales. After all, Kyle, one of the central characters is an archaeologist as well.

Natasha and her brother Nicky decide to on an Egypt trip for a few weeks. They go over to their aunt Lucy’s place first, where they overhear her talking to Kyle. Lucy is requesting Kyle to take them on a tour on the Nile on his boat, and he is trying to wriggle out of it. This prompts Natasha to tersely tell him that they do not need him, starting their relationship off on the wrong foot. However, Kyle grudgingly agrees and their trip includes stops at a few historic places for viewing of old temples, tombs and other places of interest. On the boat, Kyle and Natasha are strongly attracted to each other. At one of the stops though, Gemma, who Kyle has known since some time makes her appearance. This creates stress, with a lot the tour still left.

There are some references to Egypt’s history & locales but they are sketchy. I appreciate this is not a non-fiction book about Egypt and yet the book could have gone much further than it did. The book plays it very safe with nothing at all out of the usual in the story. That said, I appreciated the honesty of the story – most of the characters are very likeable and there is no pretentiousness. I would have liked to see something unique and the characters better developed.

A cute little love story as a light read.

My rating: 3 / 5.

What a wonderful adventure this book was to read! Beautifully written with characters that I absolutely adored! Kyle….oh my… totally swoon worthy and with so much heartbreak in his past to overcome. I was also so impressed with how well Nicky’s character was written, touching on a subject close to my heart. An outstanding read and I highly recommend grabbing this book up!

I was intrigued by the setting of this book, and I was not disappointed! While the romance was nice, I really, really enjoyed the travelogue. I learned so much about Egypt and now have a bucket list of places to explore. Now who do I know who owns a luxury yacht suitable for cruising the Nile...?

The characters were all appealing and I was at least as invested in their family and the obvious care they had for each other as I was the love story (which was PG-rated but sweet). Pick this up if you're fascinated by traveling and looking for a book that offers more than a by-the-numbers romance!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

I thought there’d be a little more fantasy/mystics in this book because of the curse and was a bit disappointed this wasn’t the case.

It’s a nice story taking place in Egypt. The ancient places made me want to visit them myself.
The story of Natasha and Kyle is a standard love story that could’ve happened anywhere to be honest.

But for a quick read on the beach it’s a good book.
