One of the loveliest books I've read for ages! An absolutely beautiful story of villagers trying to save their local library, along with a gorgeous romance!

I adored the main characters of Elsie and Jacob, and absolutely loved seeing them both grow in confidence over the course of the book. Both of them gripped me from the first page and I was rooting for them the whole way through.

I absolutely love Katie Ginger's books, and one thing she's a master of is building a village - perfect descriptions of the setting, and the most wonderful side characters. Every villager is unforgettable in their own way, and I felt like I got to know all the inhabitants of Meadowbank - even the smaller characters have personalities that jump off the page!

I was utterly bereft to have finished this book - talk about unputdownable! Every time I put my Kindle down, I wanted to pick it back up again and read just a little bit more!

It really highlights the importance of libraries and how many people use them for a wide range of things. It's a love letter to books and to libraries everywhere - a truly special book! Cosy, heartwarming, and uplifting - everything you want in a book about books! Highly recommended to all booklovers! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

I wanted to love this book. I really did. I understand that I received an ARC of this book, but this thing was riddled with plot holes and typos. In the first scene, when the main character is being interviewed, it feels like a chunk of text has just been....removed. The question about ice cream is boring and not well explained, and that continues thematically for the rest of the novel. The hero was fine, but the narrator is so bland and unlikable that I can't even remember her name. With heavy editing, this could be great--but it's not.

The Little Library on Cherry Lane is a delight from start to finish. Packed full of Katie’s trademark warmth, the story wraps you in the cosy arms of a community full of friendship, love and care. I want to move to Meadowbank right now!

I love a book by Katie Ginger, it always makes me wish I lived in a lovely little village like Meadowbank where everyone looks out for each other and there is a real feel of community.
Elsie is the local librarian who lives for her books and the members of the library. She knows everyone and looks after some of the older community of Meadowbank. Then along comes Jacob, with his good looks and his charming personality.
Jacob comes to manage the closure of the library so his fathers company can knock it down and develop affordable housing.
The whole village are devided between wanting new houses and keeping the local library.
Elsie along with her best friends Gemma and Orla take things into their own hands and decided to protest and try to put a stop to it.
Will Elsie’s attraction to Jacob stand in the way of her biggest fear or will Elsie sacrifice a future with the first man to make her feel alive.
Join the residents of Meadowbank and save the their library.
Another cracker of a book by Katie left in my opinion for a sequel.

A Little Library on Cherry Lane was such a sweet story with themes of community, family, and friendship all while revolving around books! Reading this felt like I was in Stars Hollow, but Meadowbank seemed even more picturesque. I really appreciated how this story was not romance heavy, and while the ending is somewhat predictable, the reader isn’t sure how it’s going to all come together until the last few pages. In addition, the character development of Elsie and Jacob was strong, as we got to know their genuine shortcomings and motivations. What seems like a romance novel is truly a story of what a community is capable of providing its members - warmth, comfort, family, and growth. I enjoyed every bit of my reading experience and will definitely be checking her other books out!

Elsie loves her job in the library, but all that looks set to change when she finds out the library is being closed and houses being built in its place. Worse still, it is being led by Jacob, a man she thought she could fall for.

She is determined to stop the closure and he is determined to get the project done, so do they have a chance at being together?

This book has everything a book lover could want to read!
Elsie loves books and she loves her library. When her library faces the danger of being closed, she stands up for not only her library and the job she absolutely loves but her community.
The town of Meadowbank is a place I would love to visit. I would love to spend time in the Little Library on Cherry Lane. I would love to have the friends Elsie has in her life. They all click together perfectly.

Elsie is my new BFF - she loves books and works in a library (and loves it). She has that insecurity and self-doubt we all had, have or will have. And when there is a cause worth fighting for... Bang, signed, sealed and delivered. Elsie discovers what she is made of and what she is capable of. The fact that Jacob is charming, cute and they both have things in common would be a fairytale... until reality knocks on the door.
A mix of what is old and new, a reflection of what is community and family, all mixed together and written in a captivating way.

This book is such a pleasant surprise. A romance set around a library and it's librarian. I had expected something sweet and slightly predictable and am happy to say I was beyond wrong. The character development of the main and side characters are phenomenal. A classic in regard to finding courage withing yourself and growing to your true potential (for more than one character even). A wonderful rollercoaster of emotions, friendships, family dynamics and love. I read it in two days, and with my schedule never happens. And I can happily say I made it all the way to the end without knowing how this poor village was going to solve their conflict and heartache. Best of all I am happy to find that there are more books to this wo derful world that Kate Ginger has created and I am already going to go find them as soon as I am able! Absolutely a delightful read. This is even one I could let my daughter read when she gets a bit older! Bonus! I will be sharing this one with friends and family!

As a book lover any book with a library as the main event draws me to it! And I certainly wasn’t disappointed with this book. The characters were likeable and the plot line was enjoyable and a really nice storyline

What a lovely book!
This story is set in a village called Meadowbank and the library is the meeting place for the residents including coffee mornings, book clubs, etc.
I found myself cheering Elsie on and hoping that she and Jacob could put their differences aside as they are so obviously mad about each other!

I enjoyed reading the story of Elsie and Jacob, and especially loved the village of Meadowbank. It was fun to see both characters develop and blossom as they each found their own voice.

I will say though that I found it to be very repetitive at times. I know that was intended to demonstrate what the two main characters were wrestling with and trying to overcome, yet I found that it didn't effectively move the story forward since most of the time it was rehashing the same things again.

That said, I loved the community spirit and how central this library was to village life. And even when people disagreed about the best path forward, they all pulled together in a crisis.

Katie Ginger writes the feisty underdog heroine so well. I loved Elise and was championing her efforts to save 'her' library from the get go. I also loved her friends Orla and Gemma, giving her the support crew she needs to fight the good fight against the property developers and even 'Bookzilla'.
As she is the queen of slow-burn, this was another satisfying dive into a fave romantic trope - no spoilers but I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Jacob. Utterly charming and another must read from Katie Ginger.

Any book which features a library will no doubt grab any of us book lovers out there, I don’t know about you, but for me the library was the starting point for my love of books, and my library card was a laminated little source of pride- I had somewhere to belong to, where the people behind the counter nodded to me as I walked in, then chatted about my choices as they scanned them out.

The library on Cherry Lane brought this feeling of home and belonging to the locals too, sounding like a slightly busier version, with the local group meet up going on, but no less warm than ours. I nodded appreciatively at the goings on and descriptions, and swooned for our lead, Elsie, who was one in a cast that was, without doubt, the most worthy of being cast on the big screen I’ve found for some time.

Put with the premise, that of saving the library when developers came in to knock it down, the action added to the cinematic feel, helped by Jacob, a man who needed to prove his worth to his building tycoon dad.

This book had it all and then oodles more! It was warm, bright, vivid, vibrant, funny and gorgeous, everything you need from a feel good read. This is definitely going to be a contender for book of the year! Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the book in return for an honest review.

This was a cute and uplifting story. I loved seeing Elsie grow from the shy timid girl who can barely talk to strangers to someone who openly stands up for what she believes in.

While I did like the story, I felt like it was slow at times and it took me forever to read even though it's really not that long.

The library setting was great and I felt that Elsie's character was relatable. And I loved the cottagecore vibe the story had.

A good cosy read with great characters and a good story line which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Lovely to be back in the community of Meadowbank again, this time with the story of Elsie, the librarian who is as quiet as a mouse and blends in to the background. That is until her beloved library is threatened with closure. Is a library just a place for books or is it so much more than that? Read it to find out!

What I would give to escape to Meadowbank...

Both Elsie and Jacob are beautifully developed characters and I loved the chemistry between them, The slow-burn/enemies-to-lovers romance fit perfectly with the rest of the story. Things developed naturally, the romantic relationship between them never felt forced.

This book is the perfect reminder of how important libraries are to our communities, both to provide access to books to everyone and as a meeting place to connect with others (and ourselves).

Overall this was a heartwarming and upligting romance. I would defenitely reccomend it!

What a great, heart warming story about coming together to fight for something special.
When the library that Elsie works for and loves is scheduled to be torn down and replaced with housing, she needs to dig deep into her shy self and fight for what she wants. The community backs up her battle and soon the developers are in for a challenge. Mix in a sprinkle of love and it equals a special book.
