This is a fun, sweet, fast-paced and entertaining novella. Both Kissie and Trig have chemistry between them and their banter is pretty entertaining too. Even though I feel the shift in their relationship happened a bit too fast, I wished it was developed more even when it's an insta-love romance. I think this is a pretty decent read.

I hate to admit how much I loved this story. I finished it all in one sitting! It was the perfect length and pace to get you out of a reading slump. I should have known the book would be a new favorite of mine when Taylor Swift was referenced in the first 20 minutes of reading. Seriously though, if you're looking for a short fun read with some steam and some magic, I think Kissie and Trig's story would be perfect for you!!

Kissie lives by the rules. Rules that makes her life more confortable. Until she meets Trig, a sexy-hot bartender, in a small town called Twin Hearts.

This book is full of magic, love and friendship. It is a story to read on a rainy winter Sunday. The prose is well written, the dialogues are amazing, super catchy and witty. It's like love is pouring out of every page of the book. With this book I really believe that "magic is in the water, love is in the air".
If I would say something negative about this book is that the cover didn't catch my attention at first but the story is worth it, it will give you hope and joy.

"And this moment, this step, was presenting him with the chance to have everything he ever wanted. No matter how brief it might be, no matter how much it might hurt when it ended, when life gave a person a moment like this, they needed to fucking grab it."

So my advice for you is follow your heart to Mystic Hot Springs and give it a try.

This was a well written, low angst, (kinda)holiday romance novella with a gem of hero. How I loved him! He was thoughtful, kind considerate and a romantic. Unfortunately the heroine spoiled the book for me. She kind of redeemed it in the last part but still I didn’t like her. And I also loved the magic Mystic town and it’s wonderful people.
Epilogue was sweet.

If this book was a cooking show, then they were cooking with heat & a few dashes of spice, if you know what I’m saying! Also, they may or may not have broken some health code violations! The chemistry & the banter are absolutely electric.
The love interest Trig is a man with an overflowing bookcase…do I need to say more?! He even gives one of the epic speeches where they name all the best qualities & cute quirks that makes them fall for his love interest. If you’re a millennial, I’m talking One Tree Hill Lucas Scott for Brooke speeches in the pouring rain. (Yes, I know how that ended but it was an epic speech!)
This was a wonderful, quick, dual point-of-view romance that just made me smile. It’s an easy 4.5 stars for me!
I would also love to read a Dawn & Ryan story with hopefully cameos from their best friends & the interesting cast characters from their town that we met from this book!

Extra thing I loved:
-There’s the undercurrent of magic with healing waters & talking bears, which sounds ridiculous, but honestly, I would like to visit!
-It mentions Valentine’s Day events & decorations, so it’s the perfect read for this time of year!
-I loved that Kissie’s job was writing jingles! It’s clever & unique.

I would describe this novella as "Hallmark after dark" - it was short, sweet, and spicy. I think it's an absolutely perfect read for February/ Valentine's Day. I think that I would have connected better to the characters and plot if the book had been longer (a full length novel instead of a novella).

This was short and sweet.
Kissie and her best friend, Down are on a trip to Mystic and their aim is to have some fun. But, when Kissie and Trig meet for the first time, it's an instant attraction. For Kissie, Trig is just a hot bartender that she can't get out of her head, but for Trig, it's a love at first sight, not the-I-kinda-like-you love at first sight, but the I-wanna-spend-the-rest-of my-life-with-you love at first sight. Well, you get the idea.

After some years, kissie returns back to Mystic, the small town,where Trig lives and both of them are still attracted to each other.
As she spends time there Kissie fights the feelings she has for Trig and all the while he tries to convince her that he is the one.

Well this was a very sweet book. I loved the author's sense of humor and it was hard not to fall in love with Trig and Kissie.

I was ready to love this book, but there were a few things that just bothered me, the fight scene was one, and a talking bear. Oh, no, thank you.

Overall, this was a good romance with very likable characters.

Breaking up is hard to do, but when you have a list of laminated rules to get you back on your feet all will be just fine, right!?! What happens when you find yourself wanting to break all your own rules? A sweet small-town boy living in a magical tourist town and a girl with big city dreams cross paths and love leads them in unexpected directions. If you like a good, sweet romance story with a bit of misunderstanding sprinkled in and a bit of steamy exercise then this book is just the ticket for you. It reads quickly and is light entertainment for the romance inspired reader in you!

We follow Trig, a small town bartender for a hotel, with a love for his town. And then we have Kissie, a big city girl, on a getaway after being cheated on by her stupid boyfriend. Kissie has 7 rules for moving on, and these rules are really important for her.

I really enjoyed this book! It was the perfect Valentine’s, small town, hot book. I really enjoyed the characters and how they were pictured, and I love the story line.

The only thing I didn’t quite enjoy is that nothing really happened in the first half of the book. Most of the story and romance happened after the 50% mark, but it was still really enjoyable.

I liked that it was short, but complete, I wasn’t left hanging and I got the HEA I wanted.

Overall, I really liked it!

I really wanted to enjoy this book because the cover is super cute and the synopsis sounded like something I’d enjoy. But, it just left me disappointed.

Most of the way through I thought it was quite good - not brilliant but also not terrible. I loved how the chapters were each named after the 7 rules and that the content of the chapter applied to the rules. I thought the author was very clever with that.

But then the talking bear made an appearance…

I just don’t understand why that was needed. It suddenly made the book feel really naff and it completely ruined the story for me.

I’m not sure if the author intended it to be humorous or something else but I just didn’t get it at all. It seems a shame that one tiny scene made my rating, and my enjoyment, go right down.

As it was a novella, it was very fast paced. It was good in some instances because it prevented me from getting bored. However, in other parts, it felt overly rushed. The romance didn’t really have much detail and the scenes were quite short. Trig was an absolute sweetheart so I really wanted to see more of his romantic side!

There is some spice but again it happens quite quick and it’s not that explicit. I guess personal preference would decide whether that was good or bad.

What this book lacked in plot it made up for with steamy romance and amazing characters. Hallmark movie ish with its small town magic and romance.

What started of as a spontaneous road-trip to help her best friend get over heartbreak lead Kissie to find love of her own in somewhere unexpected.

This was an absolutely lovely novella! The pacing was perfect and I still can’t believe it was only 163 pages-so much happened, it was a truly well rounded story. I was fully invested in Kissie and Trig’s story, riveted until the very end. Jess K. Hardy did a wonderful job establishing these characters and the quirky little town of Twin Hearts in such a limited number of pages. I sincerely hope this is the start of a series and that we’ll see more of Trig & Kissie and Twin Hearts in future stories… Ryan’s perhaps?

This small-town romance is the perfect mix of sweetness, humor, and spice. While The 7 Rules of Moving On is a novella, it is just the right length. It can easily be read in one sitting and will leave you warm and fuzzy. Other than the party the Valentine’s Day theme is not heavily prominent.

I hope the author plans to continue this as a series. This was so well written. The banter had me grinning from beginning to end. This was the first book that I have read from this author but I look forward to checking out some of her other works.

short and easy read if not a bit too insta-lovey for my liking even though it didn't bother me too much because this was a novella but other than this i thought it eas a rather forgettable read.

The 7 Rules of Moving On is a perfect snowy Saturday read, especially with Valentines Day fast approaching. Romance isn’t usually my genre, but this novella had so much to keep me interested: character development, humor, fun scenarios (magic bears!), organic conflict, and a setting to die for (hot springs, northern lights, small town Montana resort). It was a delight to escape into the story for a while and lose myself in Trig’s Keanu-Reeves-inspired brown eyes. Hardy has a real knack for making all her characters come to life (even the supporting ones), and by the last page, Pudge, Grandma Betty, and the town of Twin Hearts felt real to me, like I could hop online and book a weekend at this place. Absolutely delightful and refreshing read!

While Dawn is dancing of depression, Kissie finds herself making googly eyes with the hot bartender, and her stomach exploding with butterflies when he kisses her. They hit it off immediately and so naturally, but the realization of that she is only there for the weekend hangs over them like a dark cloud.

Fast forward 2 years and now Kissie faces a broken heart, and is dragged to Twin Hearts. Trig(aka Hot Bartender) hasn’t stopped thinking about her ever since they met, and even saved one of her jingles as his ringtone. Now Kissie needs to follow her own 7 step rule, convincing Trig to be her wingman. With so much tension and possibility in every interaction, will Kissie finally stop following the rules, and start following her heart?

This was a quick, funny and spicy read. If you love small town romance you’ll absolutely eat this up. For such a short book the chemistry was fantastically written and the banter to die for. The ending was quaint, but left me wondering if something will ever happen between Dawn and Ryan..
