I really don't know where to start honestly. Like what the heck was this wippised to be? Am I the only one who just could not and I mean could not get over the h and her inner dialog and the was she acted? I made it a whopping 4% before I was laughing so hard at the ridiculous way this was going that I just gave up. I'm not one to give up before giving it a shot but holy heck this is not it. 1⭐ dnf 4%

This story follows Kissie who lands herself wingwomaning her heartbroken friend, Dawn, in a bar in Mystic Springs. She flirts with the Hot Bartender while making sure her friend follows her 7 Rules. Hot Bartender is actually named Trig and he falls for Kissie fast and then she leaves to go back home to Missoula.

I like little novellas every once in a while. They are super satisfying to read because you can read them so quickly and feel so accomplished! I think the first half of the book was stronger than the second. It's almost like Trig did a 180 on his personality and I really didn't like him at all in the second half. This is perfect for a little pick-me-up. Nothing too heavy. Sweet with a little spice thrown in!

This was a great short read. Jess did a great job in making this novella comprehensive for a novella. Kissie and Trig both have issues with past relationships. They meet when they both needed each other and reconnect later. I love that this story did stretch overtime which made it seem more deep and fuller for a novella

The characters were developed enough that it didn't feel like a novella at all

This is a story about Kissie, a Jingle writer who likes to live her life by the rules. After her boyfriend dumps her, she decides to find a no-strings attached rebound guy and move on fast in the small town called Twin Hearts. Enter Andrew Trig, a sexy bartender at the resort Kissie is staying in. It's not long before sparks start to fly and Kissie has to make the decision about whether she should play by the rules or listen to her heart.

I liked this book. Trig was a really nice guy, too good for the world honestly. I found Kissie to be a bit stubborn instead of being firm. I do wish this book was a bit longer because it felt like they'd only known each other for two whole days before all the drama happened.

I feel like the drama with Lane and Kissie, and Trig's feelings of betrayal about it were justified. Even if she didn't cheat, being with Lane for whatever innocent reason cannot be right. And I kinda don't like Kissie because of it.

Overall, if you're looking for a small town romance, with a hot bartender who likes Taylor Swift, talking bears and hallmark vibes situation (with extra bits of spice!), this one's for you!

This was a fun small town romance. I loved the witty banter between all of the characters. Trig was such a romantic and I liked how he respected Kissie’s rules. I also liked how Kissie was determined not to change her life for a man ever again. This was a great story about how things don’t always go as we plan and sometimes taking a different route from what we planned turns out for the better.

This was a quick, easy, fun and sexy read that I whizzed through. It was well written with well developed characters that I found very relatable and likeable. The storyline was good and kept me engaged all the way through, an enjoyable read.

This book had a rough start, truthfully but it ended up pulling it together at the end.

I loved the concept of the small town vibe and everything that surrounds it, felt very magical.

It felt immature and very insta love at the beginning BUT as it went on I feel like the author found the direction they wanted to go and really stepped up. It felt more adult like and I felt a lot more connected with the characters.

I felt myself rooting for them the whole time and wanting them to be together. The ending was strange but Kissie and Trig for life.

Trig was so genuinely sweet. Kissie. I have mixed feelings about this woman. Okay, I liked the writing style. This was my first time reading any book of this author. I liked one of the main characters. You guys can guess already which one. I can't say I liked the plot. Pretty forgettable one. But this book had so much potential. Could've been a nice read. Instead it ended up being just an okay-ish read I guess.

For a novella, there is a lot going on. Although the story was okay, the behavior of the characters was more in line with younger people. They are both at or near 30.
There was also a scene that concerned me where the characters have had too much to drink. And one tries to convince the other to have sex. That popped me right out of the book.

Kissie and her best friend visited Mystic Hot Springs 2 years ago after Dawn was dumped. Kissie has a moment with the hot bar tender Trig, but according to the (laminated) rules Kissie uses she cannot hook up as a wing woman to Dawn. Forward 2 years and Kissie and Dawn are back, now with Kissie as the newly dumped and she asks Trig to be her wing man when Dawn gets sick. But Trig has been thinking about Kissie for 2 years and has no intention of letting her get it on with someone else!

This is a really cute small-town romance novella with some great steamy scenes.

Kissie is wingman for her bestfriend to help her get over her break-up. Here she meets Trig, gorgeous, bearded barman at Mystic.

I really enjoyed how the relationship between Kissie and Trig was built over time and the chemistry between them.

After reading this, I'm very interested to see what happens with other characters we were introduced to from the town.

This is an adorable novella that's perfect for Valentine's Day. It's a cute, short read. The 7 Rules of Moving On was a cute novella.

A wonderful feel-good romance. It was just such a joy to read from page one. The characters' growth and progression is so seamless and yet at the same time… the banter, the steam, the love it’s all so well done. The setting came to life and the characters were fun, well rounded, and so relatable. Hardy has a magical way of transporting you from your reading nook and making you feel a part of the story and characters lives.

I really enjoyed the premise and how the Kissie's rules moved the story and the characters through the story. And, don't get me wrong, I love angst and drama, but it was absolutely refreshing to not cringe my way through any of this book. It was well paced and kept me flipping from start to finish!

For anyone who wants to sit and simply enjoy a phenomenal and delightful story, with a bit of magic *wink*, this one is for you!

This is the story about Kissie and Trig. Kissie is a rule follower that likes to have control of everything she does. On the other hand, Trig is a small town bartender that just goes with the flow.

After a romantic weekend between them, their paths cross together 2 years after, and even though Kissie wants to follow her rules the tension is inevitable.

I thought this was a light rom com that can be read in an afternoon. Overall this was a MEH for me. Not the worst one not the best one.
It kinda wants to recreate a Hallmark movie with a bit of spice in between.

There's a lot of lagoons I can't comprehend though. Some parts were sweet and funny, others I was smashing my ebook on my head because I didn't know what was going on. There's parts that doesn't make any sense and are completely unrealistic.

I understand the author wanted to make Trig a men written by a woman, but I think it was very forced. In the other hand I didn't despite Kissie but towards the end her actions didn't make any sense.

The narrative is simple and not intricate which I think is good for people who is starting to read in English or has a basic knowledge of it.

Overall is not a bad book but I probably wouldn't choose it if I had others to read.

What a wholesome yet steamy read this novella is! It has everything typically cliche about a Valentine's Day read - a small town that is full of warmth, magic, and love for the festivities, a hot bartender that has a heart as well as an amazing body, and a really sweet story about two people who meet by chance and reunite two years later.

I really liked the storyline of this novella. Kissie is a stickler for rules and has 7 of them on how to get over a breakup. I loved watching how she implemented these the first time around with her bestie Dawn, to then find that rules and Trig didn't quite mix when it was her turn to use them - or that he was worth breaking all the rules for. I'll admit it, I hate instalove at the best of times, and this story is riddled with it. But for some reason, it didn't bother me nearly as much as I thought it would. Trig and Kissie make falling in love seem so easy and right, even if there are genuine fears and concerns around that. Further, the chemistry between them was executed well, not too detailed and yet enough to make this the perfect romance to read on February 14th.

And now she needs to abide by the rules that she made, the super-hot bartender will act as her wingman to move on.

It was a quick, fun, and a little spicy read. I love the small-town vibes of the book. And can I just say that their names are ridiculous? Kissie and Trig... Anyway, I love the banter between them, and although it was short, the romance was still well developed and I can feel the chemistry between Kissie and Trig.

this book was so good! i have never read anything by jess hardy so i wasn’t sure what to expect but this was the perfect valentines romance. i felt like i was dropped right into a valentine’s day halmark movie, in the best way. i loved the characters and the description of the town. and trigg 😍 the hot bartender who loves taylor swift? it doesn’t get much better than that!

Some novellas are hit and miss with me. Again, this is my opinion, and this one is a miss. I get that this is a novella. It's short. I just couldn't get into the insta love aspect. Some might read this and think it's a sweet romance. In a way, I can see that. There just was not enough buildup for the characters to fall for each other, for me to find it believable.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t a huge fan. I definitely struggled to finish this novella. In theory, this book could have been fantastic (it had the right setting, lovable best friends) but it just didn’t work. This story felt very generic and didn’t have anything to set it apart from the hundreds of books exactly like it.
