Out of all of the books I have read from this author this one did not work for me. I did not care for Sam's character as he just used his power over Ariel to watch the child that was left on his doorstep. the child was not hers yet he expected her to drop what she was doing, preparing for a cooking show audition her goal to take care of the child. which is good but he put his wants and needs above everything else. Did not work for me.
I liked the story, I admit it's not something that keeps you interested all the time or that you haven't read before, but it was definitely excitingly written. A book for relaxing in free time. I would read more books from the author.
I received a complimentary copy of Cowboy's Doorstep Baby in exchange for an honest review. This was a mediocre read for me. The main theme of this book was a surprise baby left on the doorstep of the main character Sam while he was trying to expand is ranching business. With that being said, there was no back story to how and where this baby came from, other then it was Sam's baby and the mom dropped off the baby with everything it needed, Very strange segue into a plot.
I was not impressed with Arielle. She let Sam "run all over her." Arielle was working on a lifetime goal of being a chef and time and gain she let Sam take advantage of her by having her watch his child when she should have been preparing for her debut on a cooking show. Hard to like or respect someone that doesn't value herself.
The writing was well done, and the story moved along at a decent pace. This was a stand alone but could be read solo too.
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day.
Fun, sexy, romantic read with a hea. Will recommend to readers of romance who are looking for something with a bit more oomph.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Arielle and Sam. Arielle is a chef and had been hired to be the hef at Sam’s camp and Sam is a rancher that holds camp for boys during the summer. As they meet for the first time a woman drives up and leaves a four months old little girl and says Sam is the father. They each had problems from needing a nanny, needing a cook, trying out cook fancy food, their attraction for each other and trying to cook and get to work with a famous chef. Eventually they worked the problems out and fell in love.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This book is part of a series, but really its a stand alone. It's a quick read, but I found it really out there. I just could not believe the situations. Not my thing. 3 stars
A complimentary copy of this book was provided by NetGalley for my honest review and opinion. The unexpected baby on the doorstep was nothing compared to the new chef he no longer needed. This cowboy was trying to save his land while steamrolled by becoming a dad and falling in love. This was a sweet romance.
Im a massive fan of Leslie north but honestly did not enjoy this one at all. The story was rushed and the writing stilted at times, main characters also were very irritating
This book was a healthy and wonderful dollop of silly and cheese and everything I love about romance novels. It could also be titled "Men are Dummies" and then there wouldn't even need to be a blurb.
Take two hard-headed ambitious people, thrown in a doorstep baby, add in a dash of forced proximity and tension, and you have Cowboy's Doorstep Baby. It was fun and cute and far from perfect, and Sam was a grade A nitwit, but I loved it all the same.
The first installment of the Windy Creek Romances brings us a wonderful romance in a beautiful ranch setting at Carden Ranch. Sam is dedicated to his ranch and really has no time for anything else. Then one day, out of the blue a woman shows up on his doorstep and leaves him with a baby, apparently the result of a one-night stand. He doesn't know the first thing about taking care of a baby, but luckily his temporary chef, Arielle was there to help him. When his regular chef returns, Arielle agreed to stay and act as nanny to the baby. As they both cared for the baby, Molly, they inevitably closer, but failure to communicate results in them pulling away from each other. Arielle was only supposed to be there temporarily, and then she would be off to chase her dream. But the bond that she has built with Sam and Molly is something special. This was only meant to be a temporary arrangement, but is it possible it could turn into something more permanent? The character development was wonderful and the storyline was well-crafted. I enjoyed this very much and look forward to the next installment.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This was a light read. The plot moved forward, but at times the transitions weren't smooth, and the characters were mostly self-absorbed and abrupt.
Sam is trying to save his ranch and get funding to continue his kids' cowboy camps when a former fling drops off the baby he didn't know about. His new chef, Arielle, arrives in time to witness the exchange. When the old chef returns to work unexpectedly, Sam offers Arielle the job of nanny, but promises she can still practice for her cooking show audition.
ARC via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
What a cute light read!
Sam and Arielle’s story started out as employer and employee (with a rocky start!) but along the way between the crazy ranch schedule with the cowboy camp and caring for a 4 month old they fell for eachother.
Arielle’s struggle with her family I really could relate to being a middle child myself. Not feeling good enough when compared to your siblings’ achievements. As well as feeling under seen by your family.
The 🔥 scenes felt a bit underwhelming in my opinion as I felt at times the chemistry between the MLs wasn’t built on enough.
All this is made up tho by the cuteness that is Molly. That baby stole the show in every scene she was in!
This book was a fun lighthearted first introduction for me to Mary Sue Jackson’s books. Will check out her other work!
This is the first in the Windy Creek Romances. Sam is trying to expand his ranch and cowboy camp when a one night stand from his past shows up and drops his 4 month old daughter off in his arms. The daughter he did not know he had and it could not come at a worse time. Arielle was hired for the summer to be the new chef and was going to spend the summer working on her cooking skills to try to audition for a job with a restaurant. He lets her go because he old chef is back early then expected but gets an idea after seeing Arielle with his daughter and ask her to be the new nanny for the summer. She agrees after he agrees to her using the kitchen to practice for her audition. They develop a relationship but both are focused on their careers and do not listen to each other. Of course at the end they see the light and you get your HEA. I always enjoy and look forward to books by Mary Sue Jackson. They are will written with a HEA and are a quick read. I read in one sitting. Recommend.
I receive this book from Netgalley for my honest review.
this was read thanks to NetGalley, however they didn't have a say in this.
This book has everything that I need a lovable characters, a nice love story, and more romance. I recommend this book for those who love cowboys and romance.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I really Enjoyed this book by this author. The storyline was great and you felt the pull and tug between the main characters. Molly was also a great addition and you fell in love with her and the mini cowboys. Even the millionaire seemed down to Earth which is refreshing.
I would definitely recommend this book to others.
Imagine opening the door and having a baby that you know nothing about being thrust upon you. This is exactly what happens in this story.
Sam is in the process of securing financial backing for his ranch when he is faced with caring for a four month old adorable little girl. He knows nothing about babies. Miss Molly is just about to change all that. Arielle has turned up at the ranch as the newly employed chef, only to be fired in the next breath. She is non too happy about the situation as she had planned to refine her culinary expertise during her down time. When she sees Sam struggling to handle the little one, she steps in. It's comical how he tries to handle the situation. At the same time, he has a brain storm and offers Arielle the post of a live in nanny. Panic averted for the time being. Arielle accepts the responsibility like a trooper, even though she resents the fact that she might miss on the opportunity of being a famous chef. They come to an agreement, but Sam is so focused on his legacy that he fails to see what's more important in life. Will it be too late when he realises that he is giving up on happiness in his zeal to succeed? Arielle too is focused on her career and nothing else matters. She has a point to prove to her family. In the meantime, they grow closer, but miss the most important thing.
Sam sets out to put things right when he realises that his feelings for Arielle run deeper than he thought,or chose to ignore. It's a bit of a struggle, but they get there in the end. Molly is a little darling, and all the staff on the ranch are great. The little campers are a bundle of joy and Sam's patience with them is extraordinary. Arielle fits in nicely until it's time to part ways, but when they realise what they are losing, they redeem themselves and it all works out. Ann and Calvin deserve a mention too as they are great secondary characters. It's a good read.
I received an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
The writing in this story just didn't work for me. The story felt stilted and I feel that some scenes weren't finished. I thought Sam was a selfish, immature jerk as well.
I really enjoyed this. I flipping love this trope. Everything about this book was amazing. From the passion the h had for cooking and the baby to the H and his passion for his ranch. Ugh perfect. 4⭐

Cowboy's Doorstep Baby is the first book in the new Windy Creek Romances series by Mary Sue Jackson.
I could not get enough of this book! I read it in one sitting because I could not put it down! I absolutely loved the characters, they made me smile and laugh to myself. I thought the story was beautifully written and was captivating. The romance was steamy and the characters felt genuine and had depth.
I can't wait to see what's next in Windy Creek! I highly recommend reading Cowboy's Doorstep Baby!
