Steve L. McEvil’s cover and description immediately grabbed my interest and the anticipation was not unwarranted. Author and illustrator, Lucas Turnbloom is quite the talented guy, giving us plenty to love about this book. He starts by giving us excellent characters, including the main character, Steve L. McEvil, who just wants so badly to be bad but often struggles to make that happen, his hilarious villain of a grandfather, and a few friends from school who add to the laughter, to name a few. He also gives us wonderful illustrations that are expressive and funny. Reluctant readers and graphic novel fans will love this book. With its excellent illustrations and funny storyline, this book will be loved by many readers.

I can't decide if this one wants to be taken seriously. The humor, while present, is rather off kilter. The ongoing gag of Steve's glasses didn't work for me. It all comes together in what I'd classify as a mid-tier graphic novel: nothing terrible but not one that would top my list.

This was such a fun and silly graphic novel, I really enjoyed it. I think it will be great for young readers!! I can't wait to see what Steve gets up to in the next installment!

I didn’t finish this book. Even though it was a graphic novel, it seemed to take way too long to get to the story. I got bored less than halfway through. I know there is probably a point to discussing his glasses over and over again, but I couldn’t get far enough in so that it mattered.
