This is one of my favorite authors, and when NetGalley gave me the chance to read an ARC I felt like I won the lottery. The characters in this story are likable, the book kept my interest (read: staying up way too late to keep reading). Kasie West won't let you down. Read this one. Read any of hers. You can't go wrong.
Precious YA romance. This one will be popular amongst my high school romance readers. Cute friends to lovers, with a road trip aspect!
Places We've Never Been By Kasie West is fabulous read about friendship and how they change over time. I love love love Kasie West! This is a fabulous read I promise you will not be disappointed! Happy reading!
A very easy and quick read! We love and enemies to lovers trope. Ahhhh to be young and in love again.
I tried so hard to get into this one but I just couldn’t. I lover other books from this author but this one just wasn’t for me
I wrote a review on goodreads, and have it linked here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58784450
I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I will gladly read/devour anything Kasie West writes. I love the fact that her stories can be picked up and read in one sitting. She manages to suck you in to the story and make you fall in love with the characters so effortlessly. This novel was no different! From the very beginning, I felt like I was transported and part of the story. Truly, Kasie West wrote another heartwarming story.
Man, really disappointed this one didn't work for me. Kasie West does produce some of my absolute favorite YAs but unfortunately I couldn't connect with this one. Thank you to the publisher for the ARC of this novel!
Kasie West has always been a go to romance author for me. And she has done it again with this one, a sweet young adult romance novel that will have you swooning by the end!
Norah and Skylar's friends to lovers romance was adorable. I loved the road trip aspect and their second chance at being together and falling in love. I LOVEDDD the drama of the multiple secrets everyone was keeping. Overall, this was a cute read and I enjoyed it.
While I generally enjoyed Norah and Skyler, it sometimes felt like they were pushing too hard against each other, as though they were trying to keep their mutual distaste intact rather than deal with it like (young) adults. I also hated the parental secret-keeping; these are not stupid kids, and it rather insulted everyone's intelligence, including the reader.
I was done with this book sometime back. This was such a cute and lovely book to read.
When it comes to characters, both Norah and Skyler are both pleasant in their own ways. Though Skyker may seem to be a difficult one, as there is a conflict, ( that I’m keeping it out here and for you to find out about when you read this book) 🙃
Basically it’s enemies to lovers, that later turns into friends to lovers trope and it’s my most favourite trope. Hence, I really enjoyed reading this book.
However, the many secrets and family drama were a little bore for me.
Overall, it’s an adorable and enjoyable read.
Kasie West writes the Cutest and sweetest romcoms ever! I loved the characters and couple and I rooted for them the whole story! West Sometimes makes me feel like she can read my mind and takes me back to when I was a teenager or in college. The moments are so so sweet and swoonworthy and cute!!!!
5/5 like all of her books!!!!!
This was a cute YA romance by Kasie West. I enjoyed the friends to romance trope, but in a YA setting, and I also enjoyed the adventurous setting of the RV trip and camping.
Overall, this was a cute book - but not one I will be recommend highly. It was decidedly fine.
Kasie is my favorite YA author. This was so cute and I really liked the RV setting. There was a little enemies to lovers/childhood friends trope. And some secrets with the moms to unravel. Great summer book for teens.
Did anyone else have a family that allowed you to have a built in best friend?
Growing up we had a family like that to mine. All of us kids were about the same age, moms were friends, and our dads worked together. So many of my childhood memories are intertwined with that family … until they moved. We still visited and kept in touch but it wasn’t quite the same.
Places We’ve Never Been felt so nostalgic for me in thinking about my memories from that time. This was the first novel I read by Kasie West, and I really enjoyed it. The plot felt very similar to The Summer I Turned Pretty … but this one was better?! I loved both Skyler and Norah. They both were such likable characters, struggling through hard times and feeling like they had to hide their feelings from the people who are closest to them.
Overall it was a cute, quick YA novel that grabbed me by its cover.
A Sweet summer read friendships that change over time, a life that gets in the way...all combined make for a great read, You get to know Norah and Skyler and we all remember those summer friendships and crushes and even flings. We go along for the ride as they learn about their new selves and the together friendship. I think it's a wonderful read.
I thought this was a really cute friends to lovers YA romance. I loved the RV adventure setting in the book. I thought that was really fun and unique. The book is filled with romance, family time, drama, and so much more. It was a little on the younger side of YA for me, but overall it was good. If you’re looking for a quick, easy YA read, I highly recommend it!
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you so much @DelacortePress & @NetGalley for giving me this eARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 31 May 2022)
SYNOPSIS | Norah & Skyler were best friends who used to live in the same neighbourhood. Skyler's family moves away and sadly with the distance, their communication grew less & less until they drifted apart. However, this summer their parents have planned a summer family RV trip together which Norah is very excited for, until she realizes that Skyler would rather be anywhere else.
WHAT I LIKED:
- the author is fantastic at creating just the cutest, sweetest YA romances
- big fan of childhood best friends - to strangers - to lovers
- huge focus of family & friendship that was just really wholesome
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- I could have used a bit more angst
- the 'conflict' was resolved super quickly at the end
I love Katie West. She does a fabulous job at writing teen romance novels that don’t cross the line into vulgar. In this novel, two old best friends have to figure out what their friendship is now after years apart and a long history of complications. West adds in an amazing chemistry between the two Mia. Characters, and you end up with a story that I couldn’t put down.
