Karen M. McManus is an auto buy author of mine, and this is probably her best work yet.
With One of Us Is Lying, i felt like it was lacking true mystery vibes but this book really solidified that.
This reminded me why I love YA mystery so much. It was mind twisting, heart breaking and deep.
I enjoyed the true crime podcast aspect - it made it feel real and modern but not in a cringe way.
The characters were all fleshed out very well, which stood out to me because I rely on good characters for a book.
I think this will be even more popular than One of Us is Lying

Nothing More to Tell was such a good book. The story alternates between two characters. The book had a good storyline, interesting characters, and a good setting. The book was a fast read because I wanted to know what happened! I had a hard time putting it down. However, I would have liked a better ending, more wrapped up.

Overall, a very good read and solid writing. I would recommend this book and the author. I would read more from this author as well.

This book had me right up until the end — I’m not totally on board with the conclusion, but it was such a thrilling ride to get there! Finished this in two sittings.

This is truly one of these books that I had no clue who "Did It" until the very, very end!
OH- There were lots of times when I was absolutely positive I knew who killed the favorite teacher at this private school.
I was always wrong!
The novel is an intense YA mystery that is filled with suspense.
It kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through the book!
If you like mystery, suspense and a student who is looking for truth, then you will love Nothing More to Tell!

I loved this one. I thought the characters were all very well written, none of them felt unnecessary (except for maybe one towards the end) and I thought the twists were really great. I read McManus' previous release You'll Be the Death of Me and tbh was not a fan. BUT THIS, this is why I love her. All these teenagers, teachers, parents and cops that seem a little sketchy - my love language. Brynn was a great MC, Tripp was equally as great, and I really enjoyed them rekindling their friendship after some time apart. Tell me why I was not only on the edge of my seat for the mystery, but also the romance? FOR TEENAGERS. Karen gets me I tell ya.

MY COMPLAINT: The ending seemed to go off the rails a little bit with some dude wearing a you know what showing up at you know where and taking off with you know who. I just didn't see why this was necessary.

Mark your calendars for 08/30/22 because you will want this YA thrill to put you in the FALL MOOD.

Guys...I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If you haven't read a Karen McManus book yet, what on earth are you waiting for!? She's hands down my favorite YA thriller writer. Every single one of her books provides something different, yet they're all consistent in that they're absolutely fantastic and you feel yourself feeling everything the main characters are.

This one provided a little bit of everything I love - Dual timelines, multiple POVs, and a little bit of YA romance. How is it that every time McManus writes a stand-alone I'm begging for a sequel? She just leaves me wanting more, each and every time. I loved the character development in this one, and the unique podcast plot. I always appreciate and love seeing LGBTQ+ characters in my books, too. 💕

My favorite part of this book is all of the Easter-Egg references to her other books. I spotted at least 3 but there's probably more! If you haven't read her other books no worries, I don't see it spoiling anything for you. However, I'd recommend it because they're all different yet great.

Ah she strikes again!!! I’ve been a KMM fan since her “One of Us is Lying” days and “Nothing More to Tell” definitely gave me OOUIL vibes. It had the classic KMM dual POV, mystery, romance and all in such engaging ways. I ended up finishing this in a single read and I have zero regrets about it.

Without giving too much away I loved the blend of high school detective meets true crime podcast that McManus has in NMTT. The characters are well developed and the plot was very fast paced (a bit too much towards the end). I did find that I would have liked the ending to be slowed down a bit as (no spoilers) all the twists came one after another. That being said, I have to say I didn’t quite figure out truth and appreciated the way it played out in full McManus Mayhem.

Definitely another hit for KMM and I’m so glad I got to experience her magic once more! Definitely a great read for any mystery fans as the twists kept coming!

Nothing More to Tell was a prominent story.
With very personable and an outstanding group of characters I just couldn't get enough of.
This pulsating read kept me on my toes and my eyes glued to my Kindle.
I found NMTT very addictive, I didn't want it to end. And to me that is worth every star rating possible.
I think her books are so unique and riveting.
This was just a phenomenal book. Karen is an absolute favorite of mine.
She could write a shopping list and I'd still buy and read it!

I love Karen McManus books and even though she targets her books for a YA audience, I enjoy her thrillers. Three middle school students are working on a leaf project after school when they find a dead body - their own English teacher. He was hit on the head with a rock and the talk of the town was that he was killed by a drifter. However, 4 years later another student, Brynne, is a budding journalist and a fan of true crime and she decides she wants to solve this mystery of the death of her beloved teacher.

If this story didn't grip me in from the beginning.

We follow our two main characters in a duel POV Tripp and Brynn (estranged high school friends turned enemies turned friends again), 4 years after a murder of a teacher happens in the woods behind their school. Tripp, Charlotte, and Shane find the teacher dead.

Brynn comes back after being gone for a few years because her fathers job got relocated. When they come back she gets an internship with a crime show and when she pitches the mysterious unsolved murder of her old teacher our story takes off.

While the story gripped me pretty quickly, there were times I was asking myself why this is dragging out in the way it was. Some parts were just boring and I found myself skimming through.

I thought I had it figured out, but I always do when it comes to Karen McManus' stories. It was a fun YA thriller/murder mystery and I always enjoy myself while reading these kinds of books.

Can you really go wrong with a McManus book? Another exciting tale full of twists and turns. Every time I thought I knew what happened another twist would happen. McManus is a master story teller that is sure to engage any reader.

i think this is a very good thriller. For me the beginning was far too slow and I admit I almost didn't pick the book up when i set it down. I started the 27th at 10% and took me a full day to read 2%.. but then I decided I needed answers and absolutely devoured it. I wish it was not so slow at the beginning because it ended up being really good. I thought I understood it.. but I was no where near the right answer.. SOOO many times.. This was a great intro to this author for me

I'm happy to report that Nothing More to Tell is my favorite McManus book since One of Us is Lying! I loved Brynn as an MC - this underage sleuth gave me some serious Pippa Fitz-Amobi vibes. The mystery here is compelling - an unsolved murder with plenty of suspects and plenty of secrets. I loved the cast of characters in this academic setting - the rich boy, the popular girl, the boy on the outskirts of popularity, the journalist - this formula is similar to what made One of Us is Lying such a hit, and it works really well here! I did not guess the culprit, and there were plenty of surprises along the way that kept me on my toes.

If you're into YA thrillers, definitely add this one to your TBR!

I’m obsessed with anything Karen McManus writes. She’s definitely an auto buy author for me, and this book just further proves why.

As a young journalist, Brynn is on a mission to find out the truth about what happened to her favorite teacher, Mr. Larkin, but she gets into some sketchy situations along the way.

This one didn’t take me as much by surprise, but it was a really fun read and there was one twist I didn’t see coming. If you’re looking for a fun murder mystery with some serious elements thrown in, this is the book for you!

Wow this book!! Honestly, I have yet to be let down by this author. Every time i am instantly drawn in by the wild plots, fun characters, and selfishly, the tiny bits of romance sprinkled in. I love it! This book was fast paced and so interesting. I got some Pip vibes from AGGGTM but of a lesser degree. Brynn was a strong female lead and i really liked her. She had a reason for everything she did and i felt awful at the end when she was really struggling. Tripp was such a wonderful POV to have. I really enjoyed seeing inside his brain and watching him work through so many intense feelings and experiences. One thing i love about KMM's characters is that they always have a level of complexity about them that really adds to the story. The reason i gave this 4 stars was only because the ending felt slightly rushed. I felt like things should've wrapped better but it didn't change the way i felt about the entire story!

For the people like me who crave romance regardless of the genre, i think you will enjoy the small parts of romance in this book. even though this is a murder book, i still swooned a little over certain parts.

Solid YA mystery. Highly recommend.

Another YA mystery that had me in an absolute chokehold until the end! This book was so well written— from the character development, to the mystery plot, to the romance sub-plot, all of it was *chef’s kiss*. It would have been a 5 star read for me if the ending wasn’t so rushed.

Don’t get me wrong— it’s a good ending. I can promise you will not anticipate the events that unfold to lead our protagonist to the killer (“killer”). The reason you will not anticipate it? Because it’s so damn confusing. Literally every character you meet throughout this book plays a role in the murder. For this reason, I wish the author had prolonged the ending and added more explanation. There was too much packed into the last 15% of the book. I found myself having to re-read it to try to understand what was happening.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this to my mystery-loving friends, but I would encourage you to drink a huge cup of coffee before reading the ending.

I loved this book. I’ve read the One of Us is Lying series as well, but I think this one may be better. The character development is great and the story has enough twists to keep you guessing. I honestly didn’t guess the ending. The dual POV from two likable characters works well too. There’s a quick nod to her other books as well, which was fun to see!

Brynn leaves her private school around 8th grade when her dad gets relocated and after one of her teachers is murdered. Happy to have a life away from Sturgis and St Ambrose, Brynn has to go back for senior year. Working for a true crime show, she digs into the murder of her teacher trying to find out what truly happened. Tripp, Brynn’s classmate and former friend has been nowhere near the same since the murder. And Brynn being back only leads to further feelings of guilt.

Nothing More to Tell is written in the first person narrative through the perspectives of Brynn and Tripp. Four years ago, Brynn left Saint Ambrose School following the shocking murder of her favorite teacher. Larkin’s body was discovered by three Saint Ambrose students and the case was never solved. Now Brynn is back and starting an internship with a True Crime podcast who love her pitched idea of digging into Larkin’s case. Brynn is determined to solve the murder, even if one of the suspects is her ex- best friend Tripp. But everyone at Saint Ambrose is keeping their secrets very close to their chest and a lot of people want to leave this mystery in the past. Four years ago, someone got away with murder. And they never left.


Definitely my favorite McManus book and I think other people will agree this is her best one yet. I love how this one is centered around a true crime podcast and an unsolved murder, some of my favorite elements in a thriller. I actually wish we got more about the true crime podcasts, like chapters with an episode. Plus there’s mention of all the other McManus books throughout the story too as they talk about other “teen true crimes.” Lots of interesting reveals, secrets, untrustworthy characters with questionable motives, and the reader is kept guessing right until the very end. The plot was well-paced and I loved the two likable main characters. Overall a very layered and well executed story. McManus made the right call keeping a dual POV because too many is risky. A very satisfying read indeed! Highly recommend if you enjoy McManus’ books, dark academia, or unsolved murders.
