Caressa Sidana runs a billion dollar company and when a new business opportunity arise, she wants all in. Meeting Ishmael Abdur-Hafiz brings in a intense attraction she's never felt before... it could lead to a business AND personal relationship she always wanted but she has to deal with a vengeful ex lover/employee who is intent of taking her out. Also her relationship with her head of security is not going the way the thought it would.
From the cover, I assumed this was a paranormal read but its not. I would say this is more the lines of mixture of thriller and romance....more heavy on the thriller though. The story plot is solid and the characters are written with a strong hand. However, I do feel like things are slow to start and the first half of this book feels a bit murky.
All and all, I did like Queen of Cambridge. If you like your romance heavy with thriller aspects, then this is definitely a read for you.
Caressa Sidana is daddy's little girl in this racy romantic thriller. An only child, she is a heiress to her father’s chocolatier business. Billionaires and ‘’Queen’’ in her own right she seeks to take her father’s company to greater heights than she has already done.
Hurdles crop up in her way in the form of an ex-boyfriend and employee Carter. He shows up at a private meeting to pitch her clients and future business partners. She plays it cool knowing she has the client’s eating out of her hands.
Contrary to what her father taught her, she discreetly indulged in business mixed with pleasure in a polyamorous relationship with ex-Carter and bodyguard Marco. Though Carter threw himself out of the love triangle by being fired from the company, Caressa could never see herself in a monogamous relationship, which is why she always found herself re-evaluating her and Marco’s relationship when lines got blurred.
Just like in matters of business, she never stayed in the same place for long, so did her objects of desires. In the signing of the business deal with the De Silva’s, she found herself falling for Ishmael. Jealousy soon crops up within Marco forcing Caressa to let him go and pursue Ishmael. Ishmael had a certain hold on her that was both great but dangerous, and she kept exploring him because she loved the passion with a hint of danger. She soon realises that with Ishmael there is more than meets the eye, almost as if he lives a double life. One, which even she, a businesswoman susceptible to did not know of. This side and world of Ishmael would soon save her from the likes of Carter who threatened her life and future of her father’s company.
This story studies the dynamics of power in the hands of a woman. It takes feminism as its major theme to tell its story of an independent woman with the world at her disposal. Often we see men in positions of power dominating women in the workplace and bedroom but in this story, the roles are reversed and other than the readers, the characters in the book itself are somewhat repulsed by her choices. Her choices of wanting to get married late in life, of taking over the business, and not giving into herd instinct. The story also addresses the misconception of feminism in itself. Most people regard feminism as a lonely approach to life where women don’t seem to need men for anything but in this story we actually see men offer a hand to Caressa in times of need when she needed it and she a powerful woman accepts it. The book also explores polyamory in the eyes of a woman, giving her both power in the office and bedroom, just like business there are no hard feelings. Caressa’s character is used to explore polyamory, which would otherwise be viewed as promiscuity in the eyes of society. With this, Shakir Rashaan seeks to put forth the point that not only men are allowed to be sexually adventurous in relationships.
In conclusion, The Queen of Cambridge by Shakir Rashaan was a great read, short, sweet, and up to the point. Found no errors in grammar, which made for smooth reading. I give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to an adult audience as it contains scenes of a sexual nature and violence.
Queen Caressa does not play, and I am so here for it. Not only is she a badass who is a chocolatier, She is a strong and independent woman that knows what she wants and will not let anyone stand in her way. Although it's a little different then the other books in the series, this was such a great book. I couldn't put it down and flew right through it. The romance is on point in this book and it was actioned packed.
I received a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts.
Caressa is a strong minded CEO, very knowledgeable in many aspects of business,
she is a career driving business women whom I admire. When she meets Ishmael she feels something she has never experienced before. I think this merger will be an amazing adventure for both family businesses. This is a great stand alone book that is awesome on it's own, it is full of adventure, mystery, betrayal and love. I truly recommend the other books in the Queen of the Castle series. I would start with The Kings of the Castles and Knights of the Castle this way you will be well acquainted and familiar with the characters throughout all these books. I have really enjoyed reading all of these books and say hats of to all of the Authors who composed amazing stories for us to all to read. I can't wait for the next one. Happy Reading everyone!
Queen of Cambridge by Shakir Rashaan.
Billionaire chocolatier Caressa Sidaná is one of the most recognizable names in the confectionery industry, but she is looking to expand into other ventures. She is shrewd and no-nonsense, but in her pursuit of business dominance, she has made some mistakes along the way, including the oft-clichéd misstep of mixing business with pleasure. Her expansion efforts lead to a chance meeting with Ishmael Abdur-Hafiz, an international weapons dealer with the type of connections that could prove beneficial for all parties involved. Their intense attraction and mutual business pursuits draw the attention of a former lover-turned-enemy, intent on ruining everything she has built and permanently removing Ishmael from her life. Can she find a way to deal with the consequences of her decisions and save her company from potential destruction?
A very good read with good characters. I liked Caressa. I loved the cover. Beautiful. Although this is book 6 I was able to read it. I will be looking at the others. 5*.
Romance : sizzling and spicy at the same time, while it doesn't take anything away from the story line or the plot of it , the main character Caressa is independent and fierce, and dons't let anyone tell her what to do, as for Ishmael he give me the feeling that he was bold, brash and all kinds of sexy that just makes the reader want to melt ,which made him perfect for Caressa , And the writing style was also perfect because the author give this story a bit of a darker edge bit not to dark , there was just something in the way that he writes that shows in his writing , it gives it a feel been raw and vivid at the same time which means not only do you feel what his characters feel but you see the people and places that he talks and writes about come to life.
Caressa is a force of nature and a wonderful addition to the Queens of the Castle, and the Castle organization. I'm looking forward to finding out what she might be up to next!

I don't think there's a reader alive that could put this book down after reading the opening lines of this latest jewel in the Queens of the Castle Series. With each and every chapter this fast-paced gem of a story only gets better! Shakir Rashaan is a masterful storyteller with a gift for the unexpected. Who knew chocolate could be both sweet and deadly? The twists and turns in Queen of Cambridge kept me riveted to my seat. Bold, brash and all kinds of sexy, I read the book in one sitting and felt like I was right there in the middle of the action, and you will too.

Shakir Rashaan brought some serious players and high-level wheeling and dealing in Queen of Cambridge. Caressa Sidaná lives according to her rules, which creates challenges in her life and business. The story unfolds in different places across the globe, but keeps the reader engaged in pulse-pounding excitement. If you enjoy high-stakes concepts with strong and forceful characters, you'll enjoy Queen of Cambridge.
I loved this book and characters! I really love reading books by this author - Shakir Rashaan! His style of writing has opened a whole new world for me, in his writings. The characters at the last minute, I recognized from others stories that I really liked. I would love to see more storylines with the characters in this book. A definite page turner!!
Billionaire Chocolatier Caressa Sidana is a beautiful force of nature who is upfront about her business dealings and pleasure. Her savvy and confidence attract the attention of international weapons dealer Ishmael Abdur-Hafiz. Their attraction and undeniable chemistry are instantaneous.
Queen of Cambridge is a fast-paced, page turning literary delicacy filled with intrigue, sensuality, and action. It was great to see characters from Love, Lust, and Beautiful Liars along with Kings of the Castle make an appearance. Highly recommended read!

Queen is Cambridge has Caressa as the heroine and everyone seems to want a piece of her. This is a fast paced easy read, great plot, page turner, great characters, awesome world building, intriguing and of course the romance. This is an awesome read, I so wanted to not like Caressa but the more I read Queen of Cambridge I understood her more and more. Ishmael was not a likable person either but he redeemed himself. These Queens are kicking butt and taking names. I loved how Caressa was upfront in both her business and pleasure aspects of her life.

In a world where women are expected to conform and obey, Caressa Sidana, does neither. She is independent and fierce, colors outside the lines and follows her own rules.
Although all the Queens are strong and bold, you’ll find that the Queen of Cambridge is unlike the others. She is a badass that sings a different tune. Sometimes business and pleasure …

Queen of Cambridge has a darker edge than the other queens and I’m here for it. Shakir Rashaan has brought in several elements of his writing style and themes that he’s know for and it works beautifully in this fast paced read. I’m loving that queens are badass, intelligent, and sexy and Cambridge takes you on a rough ride with an awesome landing.

Christine Pauls, author of Love For Granted.
I absolutely loved Caressa and her ambition to succeed when others wanted her to fail. She realized her mistakes and took steps to not only own them but she was determined to fix them.
I also loved the chemistry between Caressa and Ishmael. They were explosive together and made an awesome team.
This was a wonderful story, well written and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!!
In my opinion, Shakir knocked it out of the park with this book. Once I started reading, I could not put it down. What made the book interesting was the incorporation of an international arms dealer putting the main character in harms way. This added to the suspense! Overall, the book had a nice flow using a good mix of dialogue and descriptive language allowing me, as the reader, to visually travel with the characters to their destinations. Shakir included characters from another book "Love, Lust, and Beautiful Liars". Now, I want to read that particular book to learn more about the characters.
Reading about Caressa's journey from the Carnal Confections into The Queen of Cambridge was such a surprise. At the end of the Carnal Confections, I wanted to know more about Caressa's Journey since taking over her father's empire and Queen of Cambridge satisfied my request. There are twists and turns as well as old characters resurfacing to add to Caressa's troubles.
I connected to Caressa's woes as she tries to balance being a career woman while sorting through her love life. Shakir creates a balance of sexy suspense that will keep you turning the pages till the very end. After reading three of the
I'm excited to read more about the Queens as well as anything that hosts this cast of peculiar characters.
