I don’t know where to begin with Second Chance vows. I loved the story of the journey Christian and Kinley had. Kinley and Christian’s life was simple and perfect to some but we all know marriage is not roses and sunshine. There are good days and bad days. Days that you feel broken and days that you wish would just end so happiness can prevail.

Two decades of ups and downs has taken a toll on their relationship. Resentment and self-doubt has begun to take over their lives and your heart breaks for a new start, a new way to pull them back together. We are taken on a journey from the beginning of their relationship and how heartbreaking and real things really are. You begin to ask yourself are they strong enough to pull through? Can love really bring them back?

I can honestly say I loved and hated them both at times. I hated where they were heading but loved taking the road with them. This is a must read!

Tropes: Contemporary Romance, second chance

Second Chance Vow was a story that struck my heart like lightning. M. Robinson's creative skills are like no other. My heart felt mangled beyond repair but I needed not worry because the author made it all better.
When Christian first saw Kinley, it was love at first sight. At 15 years old, he knew he would do whatever it took to make them a reality. As with most teenage love, their relationship was incredibly rocky until they were married. They had so much hope for a beautiful life together, filled with love, devotion and two hearts beating as one. But ten years later, all that love and devotion turned to anger. Resentment existed because their dreams of a fulfilling life together never came true. If they truly meant their vows of “for better or for worse”, then why were they getting divorced?
This deeply emotional story pulled so many different feelings from me. I swooned, laughed, hoped, got a little angry or frustrated and really wanted a love like Christian and Kinley’s. My soul aches for angst in all the books I read and M. Robinson is the Queen of angst so I was very happy reading this book. These two were made for each other and although their life didn’t turn out like they hoped, their love was still very much present. Their journey together was realistic and one I really enjoyed following. I was rooting for their HEA. I could seriously kick myself for waiting so long to read this author’s work and I don’t intend to miss another release. I highly recommend this read.

Listening to this audiobook reminded me why second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes. Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell brought life to an already amazing story and tears to my ears. The full experience is worth diving into, no matter the format. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

I was excited to read Kinkey and Christans story. I’m the book prior we saw that their relationship was rocky. But listening to this audio really had me feeling how much these two were made for eachother. This book pulled at my heartstrings and seeing two people who love eachother yet walking the line of dissolving their marriage have my heart aching. This was angsty and beautiful. I am loving this second chance series so far.

Second Chance Vow is a standalone book, the audiobook is narrated by Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell and they did a great job with the characters.

Kinley and Christian are high school sweethearts but have now found themselves at a crossroads. Kinley has given up and is asking for a divorce. This story flips back and forth from the present-day to the past, giving a little more of their story in each flashback. A heart-aching and emotional story - I really loved Christian, he loved Kinley fiercely and did not want the divorce. Kinley, I liked ok but there was a lot of drama and I really wished she would have sought out help sooner.

Overall, This was a decent listen but I did struggle with a few areas of the story. Kinley and Christian do get their HEA though

** Listened to this on audio. Enjoyed the narration.
Wow. If you like to read stories about marriages in trouble, then this is a great choice.
There are lots of reasons that marriages don't work, but it's rarer to hear of them disintegrating despite both partners still loving each other. Kinley and Christian have loved each other from the time they were teenagers. This story is told in the present and the past which I thought was brilliant for it stretched out the suspense so well. It really hits on the struggles that come with infertility and the toll that it takes on marriages. It also broke my heart with the lengths that people will go to receive love from parents. And these stories have the best epilogue teasers ever. :)

***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****

I haven’t read or listened to the first book in the series, Second Chance Contract, but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of Second Chance Vow by M. Robinson. I have, however, read or listened to several other M. Robinson books. I tend to save her books for when I want to feel like my heart has been torn out… this is what M. Robinson does the best! She gives us all the angst and the heart-wrenching feelings. Robinson does not disappoint in Second Chance Vow. Kinley and Christian have been married for 20 years now. Their love is so intense, so strong but why are they divorcing?

Robinson takes us back and forth in time between their story… she shows us how Christian and Kinley got together, how they fell in love, then she takes us to the now and how they’ve gotten to their current predicament. There just isn’t enough marriage in trouble type of stories and if Robinson continues to write them, I’ll devour them! The narrators, Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell completely killed this story! I can’t even explain how much I loved their portrayal of these broken character’s relationship.

Second Chance Vow is an angsty second chance romance that will rip your heart out and slowly put it back together. Kinley and Christian have one of those epic loves. The heartache and pain they go through tore at my heart right from the first page but the journey is well worth the fight. No one writes angst like M. Robinson and she brought that in spades. This book put me through the ringer. I felt ALL the emotions. I laughed, I swooned and cried all the ugly tears.

If you read Julian and Autumn's story in Second Chance Contract (previously titled Alpha CEO) you will have met Christian and Kinley. Christian is Autumn's brother and Julian's best friend.

Christian and Kinley met as teens. They met at a difficult time in Kinsley's life and Christian became her rock. Twenty years later, they have been through some really happy times but some devastating times as well and they are not connecting any longer and are on the brink of divorce, or at least Kinley is but Christian isn’t willing to give up so easily. I loved Christian’s determination to never give up. He is that strong, protective alpha man that is so easy to fall for. Kinley has a sweet soul, but she is carrying emotional scars from her past and upbringing and has always feared losing Christian.

The thing I loved the most about this book is how real and relatable the characters are and what they went through. The way Christian and Kinley grew apart can easily happen. It may not be all hearts and flowers to work through the issues and painful parts of their past, but putting in the work in order to get back to the love the carry deep in their souls for each other was so well written.

Audiobook Review

I first read this book in November 2021 when it was released in ebook, once I found out that the story was coming to audio I couldn't wait to find out who the narrators would be and when I did I legit squealed! Christian and Kinley's love story is so epic, and unique and Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell were the PERFECT choices to bring their characters to life. Maxine blew me away with her performance as Kinley. The level of emotion in her performance is award worthy. Sebastian York's performance as Christian was also phenomenal. He perfectly brought out Christian's dominance, protection, and fierce love for Kinley and I loved experiencing this story all over again in audio.

I love listening to audio books that have Sebastian York as a narrator. He is one of my favorites. I loved listening to this book and the story. One thing I love about audio books is I can listen to them anytime and not have to stop the story.

Second Chance Vow pulled at my heartstrings. It was emotional and hopeful. You can’t help but pull for the characters to figure things out. Kinley and Christian are meant for each other and the chemistry and pull they have to one another is amazing. Make sure you grab your copy of this book, you don’t want to miss it. Must read!

M. Robinson doesn’t get called the “Queen of Angst” for nothing. Christian and Kinley were pure angst from the very beginning. So many highs and lows. So many happy and sad moments. The emotions run the gamut with this story. It was very obvious that Christian and Kinley had a long-lasting love. The pain of being apart was raw. Christian thinking he gave Kinley everything she ever wanted and needed. But she needed something more. And it is and isn’t what you expect. Autumn, dear sweet Autumn, hit the nail on the head! And the spice? Pure M. Robinson….alll the spice. Now I need to recover.

Maxine Mitchell and Sebastian York voiced Christian and Kinley so perfectly. Their gift of storytelling painted a movie in my mind.

I received an advance copy of the e-book and a complimentary copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

I am a sucker for a marriage-in-peril story and M. Robinson delivered with Second Chance Vow!

The story is told in dual timelines as it goes back and forth between the current stat of Christian and Kinley’s marriage — on the precipice of divorce — and when they first started dating as high schoolers 20 years ago.

There is so much hurt and regret between these two, and Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell delivered every beat of the heartbreak with their narration. I cried ugly tears for Christian and Kinley as they went through their divorce, a divorce he didn’t want and she was only insisting upon bc it was the only way she knew how to set him free. And when they finally got everything they wanted, my heart soared. I’m sure it would have impacted me just as much if I read this story, but listening to the audio amplified my feelings so much!!

Kinley and Christian fell in love when they were teenagers however two decades later the love may not have wavered but there is a distance between them that seems to widen with every passing day.

They have found success when it comes to their careers but as the letdowns within their marriage mounts Kinley believes that the only way to show Christian she loves him is by letting him find happiness with someone else. Her actions become a catalyst which forces them to re-evaluate their love and their marriage as Christian is not about to let her go without a fight.

Kinley and Christian take us on an emotional journey as they try to heal from their pasts, both as individuals and as a couple, and realize that despite all the turmoil they have been through the only way they can truly be happy is with each other. The narrators were a perfect choice for the characters as they brought out all the angst they were feeling and the depth of their love for each other.

I found this book to a different take on romance. This couple is struggling in the marriage; to the point it is just about over. Second Chance Vow gives us a birds eye view of what once was, how it got to this point and what can they do to save it.

I find myself reading these books a bit out of order but there are standalones so I don't feel I've missed anything. The struggles with this couple is a real emotional journey and will have your feelings all over the place.

I was provided an ARC audio copy of this book and the narration was amazing and brought this story to life!

4.5 Breathtaking Second Chance Stars!
I loved this emotional, steamy, second chance/surprise baby romance! Christian and Kinley's story was so poignant, sweet and steamy! They are a married couple who have been together since they were teens. Christian changed his player ways the moment he saw Kinley, and she fell hard for him as well, giving him all her firsts. They built a beautiful life together, until that life, people, tragedies, and guilt got in the way, causing their relationship to get off track. Kinley files for divorce, but Christian doesn't want to give up on them. She has been his soulmate since the very beginning and he is determined to make things right and convince her they are meant to be together forever. They love each other so much, but had lost their ability to really see and appreciate each other. Their journey back to each other was so poignant, and heartfelt. I loved how their story was told in past and present sequence, helping us to really understand the depth of their love, pain, and their reasons to fight for each other.
The narration by Sebastian York, and Maxine Mitchell was spectacular! They added so much depth to these characters in this breathtaking, second chance romance, and brought it to life so clearly. I loved the way they developed and expressed these characters and their struggles so intimately, and made me care for them even more. I was completely captivated by their passionate and poignant performance.

I loved this audiobook so much that I didn’t want to take any breaks while listening. I found myself immersed in the lives of these characters and their pain was my pain. This story is narrated by two of my favorites and their performances were outstanding. This story is heart breaking, emotional and so full of love and sacrifice. Beautifully written with endearing characters, you’ll never want the story to end. You need to listen to this book

This story had it all and I loved every word. Steam, angst, humor, heart, and all the feelings. I was swept off my feet just as quickly as Kinley was when she met Christian.

Kinley and Christian are getting a divorce after 20 years married and even more together as a couple. Despite years of trying, Kinley can’t get pregnant and blames herself for a choice she made when she was younger. Christian has never once blamed her for anything but she thinks she is doing what's best for him. But Christian refuses to give up on her and their marriage.

Christian is an absolute studdly dream. He is literally everything I love in a book boyfriend. I don’t think M. Robinson could have written a more perfect man. Kinley’s past broke my heart and all the struggles she went through. These two were meant to be and have become one of my favorite book couples. I loved the timeline of this book on how we went back to the past to see how they started out and everything that happened to make them who they are now. I can’t wait for more from this series.

Maxine Mitchell and Sebastian York were so good at narrating this story. Maxine is one of my top three narrators and can never do wrong. She brought all the emotions Kinley went through. Sebastian is just as talented with his portraying everything his character is going through. I loved listening to these two together.

This was even better the second time around on audio! I really loved the narrators.
“What other firsts of yours can I have next?”

Kinley & Christian

I think this might be M Robinsons’s most angsty book yet. We were left off at the end of Second Chance Contract knowing there was trouble in paradise for Kinsley & Christian. I’m glad we’re not getting their story. But not just where they’re at now in life and their relationship but their whole back story which is so romantic.

These two truly were and are meant for each other. There’s never a doubt in your mind. There’s so much past between them that is making their now newly impossible to continue in. It’s heart breaking.

After more than a decade together, is Christian and Kinsley’s time over?? It seems that way… Kinsley feels broken because she is unable to give him the family he has always wanted… it’s her turn to protect him. To let him go and find someone who can. Christian doe not want a divorce. He only wants her.

This is the story of what brought them to this point and how much they truly love each other. Kinsley says sometimes love isn’t enough. He will do anything to make her change her mind.

The first part of this book made me cry ugly tears…. They love each other.. it’s plain to see! Christian is adamant that he does not want a divorce. He doesn’t want life without Kinsley. Kinsley is mired down in what she can’t give him. It’s the only thing that she has for a reason.. she loves him.

It’s a heartbreaking story of love that you won’t regret listening to. Sebastian York was a perfect t choice for narrator on this! Maxine Mitchell is new to me, but I loved her voice.

M Robinson is a very favorite author of mine. I love her stories and her writing style. She always gives me something to think about, alway brings out feelings. And always makes me want more. This book is excellent!

M. Robinson grabbed my heart from the opening pages and didn't let it go. Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell's performance was out of this world amazing. I was broken, I cried and I fell in love. Their story was narrated perfectly, with the right actors. I absolutely adore both Sebastian and Maxine's voice and I feel that they brought the story to a whole new light with their narrating. This story hit me in all the feels! I love it and it's worth listening to!
