Where to start? This book is amazing. I have been studying the cultures of the Americas for 4 years now and this book has allowed me to continue learning more. It is necessary to read it in order to discover more about it and to educate yourself. The reader is accompanied by the writers throughout the book, as a guide and provides many resources and information. This book is accessible to all, it evokes important social issues that is why everyone should read it.

Thank you so much for allowing me to read this book, which I will not soon forget.

With my background in women's studies, I an always looking for books to help educate me and expand on what I have already learned. When I found The Antiracism Handbook: Practical Tools To Shift Your Mindset And Uproot Racism In Your Life And Community available for review, I knew this would be right up this kind of alleyway for me. This handbook provides tools that can help challenge and transform a dominant culture both in individual lives and within their community.

The Antiracism Handbook is a guide to developing an antiracist framework through which to view society. This antiracist framework is used to help the reader examine the world around them. There are exercises throughout the handbook that can be applied to real life situations. The handbook is set up to speak to both white and BIPOC readers and their individual experiences.

There are four parts to the handbook. These are: 1) Laying the foundation for antiracism 2) Addressing barriers, shifting perspectives, and liberating our minds 3) Taking action to cultivate an antiracist life 4) Refilling your well - being antiracist is a long term commitment. I like the way the handbook was broken down and the reflextice exercises through out each chapter helped focus my attention on what I could change and what can be tried.

Another thing that I enjoyed about the handbook was that it was so open and did nt hold any shame. The authors continously cheer the reader on from the very beginning. It demonstrated that every individual has a role to play in addressing racism. I think The Antiracism Handbook will be such a good resource for helping people discover what their best step is in forming a more anti-racist society. Everyone's experience is different but everyone's experience can help form a new more unracist society.

As a white woman working in predominantly white communities, I am often leading conversations about white supremacy and racism to which participants have brought differing levels of concern and awareness of racism. Even in-depth book studies can leave people more awake and more concerned, but still unable to figure out what practical change to tackle first.

The Antiracist Handbook is perfect for the work I do. The authors speak to their white and BIPOC readers' individual differences of experience and perspective while urging each one to make specific and noticeable changes. Simple reflection questions and exercises included throughout the workbook help focus attention on what is true, what needs to change, and what the reader can try-- all without shaming. Each of us bears a responsibility to address racism; each of us holds some power. These authors help us discover what our next work is.

Note: I am aware that my social location impacts how I read and what I understand. Especially in the realm of anti-racism work, I am and will be always learning. Please receive my review in that light.

Thanks to NetGalley and New Harbinger for a free e-copy of the book for review.

As a White woman that often works with people of marginalized identities, especially different racial groups, I am continually looking to broaden and expand my understanding of the experiences of others as well as my own biases learned throughout my life. It is quite difficult to find practical ways to explore those concepts. I can see using the worksheets in this book with my co-workers or clients to encourage self-exploration, and I thought they guided that in a fantastic way. I know in the past I would have had some defensiveness or shame in exploring these topics, and I believe many other White people would too. This is so accessible and minimizes that shame. I look forward to purchasing a physical copy of this book.

A thorough guide to developing an antiracist mindset through which to view society. The authors establish the antiracism framework, then help the reader to explore these principles through exercises that apply to real life situations. Readers will find it challenging at times, but well worth the effort.

Thanks to NetGalley and New Harbinger Publications for an ARC of this book.
