Just as good as The Love Hypothesis! Levi is a great love interest (maybe not quite as good as Adam...). My only criticism of the book is that it's so similar to The Love Hypothesis. But like they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Bee, a Ph.D. in neuroscience, is appointed to a position working on a helmet for NASA. Her dream job is crushed when she learns her co-lead is her arch nemesis from graduate school. Cue awkward sciency hatred and miscommunications. In this classic, enemy to lovers trope, Bee and Levi develop a friendship, a working relationship, and a budding romance. Bee is forced to consider that everything in the past five years of her life was a lie and she must reconsider her place in the world of science. Ali Hazewood wrote another page turner based on science!

"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a community of women trying to mind their own business must be in want of a random man's opinion." - Bee Königswasser

If Ali Hazelwood was worried about following up The Love Hypothesis, the must-read book that was on everyone's TBR last year, she needn't have been concerned one bit, because Love on the Brain is stellar! In this second full-length STEMinist novel, we meet Bee and Levi in a delightful enemies-to-lovers romp through the halls of NASA's Johnson Space Center. These two former grad school rivals are now forced together to design a new helmet for the astronauts in the space program.

Bee might just be my favorite STEMinist heroine yet. She's a stunningly brilliant neuroscientist, she's obsessed with Marie Curie, and she's a purple-haired, pint-sized lady boss. Levi is the tall, brooding, nerdy guy with piercing green eyes who may just be my new favorite book boyfriend. If you're looking for a rom-com that's a little quirky, steamier than expected, full of nerdiness and a good deal of longing and pining with a little bit of a You've Got Mail twist, all presented in Hazelwood's accessible and engaging writing style, then you definitely need Love on the Brain in your life. Also, be prepared to Google the chapter titles.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much, @prhinternational, for my e-copy of Love on the Brain!🤍 #partner

❝ Bee. You want to belong. You want someone who won't let go. I'm it. I didn't let go of you for years, and I didn't even have you. But you need to let me.❞🤍
- Ali Hazelwood, Love on the Brain

When NASA offers Bee Königswasser the lead on a neuroengineering project, she accepts it. It is a dream come true, except she has to co-lead the project with her immensely attractive grad school archnemesis, Levi Ward. But when her equipment starts to go missing, and the staff ignores her, Bee could swear she sees Levi softening into an ally, backing her plays, seconding her ideas.

I was nervous about reading this because I wasn't sure if this book could top The Love Hypothesis, but this book did not disappoint. The story got me so hooked that I devoured the book in one day. Bee is a quirky, witty, intelligent, and relatable character. Levi is your typical silent broody guy who doesn't know how to express himself well with someone he likes. But once you know and understand him, you'll see that he is a sweet, attentive, and loving guy who knows how to treat a girl right. The chemistry and banters between Bee and Levi are so adorable I feel like exploding from giddiness. Also, bonus points for Bee and Levi because they are both cat lovers! Apart from the romance, I enjoyed learning about Marie Curie through Bee's animated talks because it made the story more intriguing. The plot twist in the ending caught me off guard (in a good way). Ali Hazelwood sure knows how to end things with a bang.

Thank you, @alihazelwood , for giving us another great novel!🥹🫶🏻 I enjoyed it so much that there were a lot of scenes that had me smiling like an idiot. If you are looking for some hilarious, spicy, witty, nerdy, enemies to lovers romance, then make sure to pre-order a copy of Love on The Brain!🤩

I loved TLH and also the 3 STEM novellas that was so fun. This one was okay for me. I liked that it was another smart female with Bee but I got a bit annoyed with her.

Here's my rub with this book:
- First 25% of the book ... nothing happens. I almost DNF but continued since so many loved it
- Bee's insistence that Levi hated her despite he telling her multiple times that he never did
- The mysterious cat at NASA. When there is so much high tech, that is just way impossible to let a stray in
- It kind of creeped me out that Levi was pining for Bee after the first meeting and he hasn't met anyone despite knowing she was engaged
- The ending was over the the top for me

Thank you @berkelyromance for a copy of the book.

This book wanted to make me pull my hair out of frustration… in a good way! This is exactly like the old school Rom com movies I adore but then a book version!

It did get a bit repetitive that bree kept on thinking and saying levi hates her, but the ending made up of that. What a twist!

Hating on popular things is cool but I have never claimed to be cool. I thoroughly enjoyed Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood. The follow up to The Love Hypothesis is set at NASA in Houston, the headquarters of hot nerds, obviously. Yes it's kind of cheesy but that is the point! It's fun and frothy and I just want two hot people to kiss, so sue me. A heads up that if the miscommunication trope gives you anxiety this will probably stress you out because it's like 75% of the book, but the happily ever after is worth it for me.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!

Missing the heart that The Love Hypothesis had. The plot didn’t feel as natural and characterization was super similar. I didn’t hate it by any means. I loved all the Marie Curie bits and Levi/Bee had some funny and cute moments. It just wasn’t as memorable as The Love Hypothesis.

Thanks for the EARC PRH International!

5 STARS!!!
Wow, okay. I read The Love Hypothesis earlier this year, and while i enjoyed it, i wasn't as obsessed with it as everyone else seemed to be. So i had no real expectations when it came to this one, but i was still excited to get to it, and wow did it blow my mind. This book is absolutely INCREDIBLE.

Bee, the main character, is full of life, incredibly relatable and HILARIOUS. Even if she was just stating random Marie Curie facts, i was hanging onto her every word. She feels so real to me, and i already miss her so much. She is badass, smart, funny and simply amazing.

Levi? OOF. DREAM MAN!!! i'm sorry but adam carlsen could NEVEEER, it's levi for me. always. he is so sweet and patient and OMG HE HAS BEEN IN LOVE WITH HER FOR SIX. YEARS. i'm obsessed. the way hE TALKS ABOUT HER. HELP.

the entire plot was simply so well done, the cHARACTERS WERE IMMACULATE!!! LIKE, THE SAPPHIC SIDE CHARACTERS ENEMIES TO LOVERS? HER HILARIOUS AND WILD TWIN SISTER? THE CATS?!!! JUST. YES.

This book was everything i didn't know i needed, and now i will go preorder a copy of this book even tho i own the earc bc i'm simply obsessed. GO PREORDER THIS YOU WONT REGRET IT

This book gave me so many emotions and I read the whole thing in about 4 hours! I absolutely adored how the story unfolded and how we gradually get to learn more and more about the characters; Bee and Levi work so well together and their relationship stages were extremely well written. I love Félicette the “imaginary” cat, and how the conflict in the story is dealt with, as well as all of the hilarious moments of dialogue that are sprinkled throughout like cat treats. And I was so delighted to have predicted the events between Rocío and Kaylee when they had their first interaction — I would have been very disappointed if what happened didn’t occur. Ali Hazelwood has yet again delivered a wonderful STEM romance and I am most certainly going to be rereading it again soon!

“I want to tell her that she’s luminous, she’s so bright in my mind, sometimes I can’t focus.”

If my future husband doesn’t describe me as “luminous” then... I’ll probably still marry him but definitely won’t be as happy about it.

Wow! This book was packed full with fun science facts, romance, tension, anonymous texts, and snack references. I haven’t flown through a book so fast in a long time!

I now know much more about Marie Curie than I ever thought I would, but we love a romance book that also has fun teaching moments! And all the science facts are presented in such a funny and relatable way that it never ever feels too science heavy.

Bee’s humor and mine are one in the same. I loved her so much! She’s smart, independent, quirky, fashion forward, and really really against ever forming another deep love connection with a human or a kitten (since all that does is bring disappointment in the end).

Enter Levi. The guy who's only goal is to fulfill his friend's scientific discovery dreams and make his girl realize that she loves him too. Levi is the epitome of a SIMP and I’m here for it. A genius engineer with dimples who cares for the environment, makes The Office references, knows how to pack snacks, and FALLS FREAKIN FIRST.

These two are grad school nemeses to coworkers to lovers. And although the book isn’t dual perspective, we do get anonymous texts! I lovedddd getting to see Levi’s honest thoughts about Bee.🥹

Honestly, this also has to be said: Ali Hazelwood is the
👑queen👑 of writing a man who knows the importance of snacks. I love her dearly for it.

Fans of The Love Hypothesis will adore this book too!

Read if you like:
+ academic enemies to lovers
+ grumpy x sunshine
+ anonymous texts that reveal a guy’s feelings
+ guy falls first!!!
+ a man with good snackage

There is a reason this book has hundreds of four and five star reviews. Hazelwood is able to provide enough context and information to learn something but also gives me the romance I crave!

My Birkin:
Olive & Adam.
Mara & Liam.
Sadie & Erik.
Hannah & Ian.

Another Birkin:
Bee & Levi.

Congruent characters with congruent stories. As I’m starting this review with a social media reference AND a reference to mathematical symbols, it will come as no surprise when I say - I ate this up. Ali Hazelwood has perfected the formula for academic romance. I will read anything she writes, in any variation of these plots, and continue to ask for more. Christmas came early when I got my hands on this ARC. 💕

Ali somehow took the charm and wit of The Love Hypothesis and multiplied it for Love on the Brain.

Rivals to lovers? ✔️
Secret cinnamon roll? ✔️
Feminist Humor? ✔️
Cat lovers? ✔️
Laugh Out Loud? ✔️

Were the Marie Curie references maybe a bit much? Yes.
Do I have a new appreciation for her though? Also, yes.

I thought TLH had amazing side characters (Malcom and Holden - definitely not Anh). But can we just discuss Rocio? Hands down Ali’s best supporting actress. She’s over the top, but in the best way. I’m going to need her to star in her own Novella. Stat.

I honestly adored each pun, witty reference, and snappy retort. The humor alone made this book a 5/5 for me. But as Ali does, she gave us a heroine who rocks, took us deep into the STEM centered story where we could all pretend to be NASA scientists, and then made us fall head-over-heels for the brooding, quiet guy. She knows exactly how to capture our hearts and deliver a story that will have us hanging on her every word.

This was just The Love Hypothesis again but in a different, larger, wackier font. I'd say you should start a drinking game for every time Levi is just so unbelievably huge/hulking/masculine while Bee is so incredibly tiny/dainty/small but then you'd be passed out before you even really get into the thick of the story. The discussions of women in STEM were interesting at times and certainly an important topic but all the other plot points were waaaay over the top.

This book was amazing. Exactly what I expected from Ali Hazelwood after reading her amazing "The Love Hypothesis" last year. I'm so glad that I got the chance to read this one in advance, it did not disappoint. A very beautiful and heartwarming love story and the portrayal of women in STEM is AMAZING!

AMAZING. Definitely one of my top 5 reads so far this year. I was given the opportunity to receive and ARC of this and almost cried when i found out. One of my most anticipated reads, Ali Hazelwood has such a unique way of writing that keeps you entertained no matter what the characters are doing. This is a 5 star read.

The STEMinist novels are all part of women in STEM universe, where they show the issues females must surpass in the world of science for their gender. This book follows the story of Bee and Levi, her nemesis, through out a research project.

The chemistry and appeal between these characters is astronomical. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in a rom-com or women inspiring novel.

PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!

I was not a big fan of The Love Hypothesis for various reasons, but I gave this one a shot and I'm happy to say that I significantly enjoyed it more. Maybe the novella format is the key to this author for me. Anyway, I thought the chemistry was pretty good, even though Levi and Bee should 100% been able to figure out (or at least consider) that they were each other's pen pal. The STEM environment was educational and enjoyable, although the Marie Curie stuff got excessive. Overall, a good little romance novella.

Love on the Brain is Ali Hazelwood’s newest novel and it was one of my most anticipated reads this summer. I was so excited to read it and I’m happy to say I enjoyed it.

Bee is a woman in STEM who is passionate about other women in STEM. She’s going to work on an exciting new project with NASA and is thrilled. Until she realized she is co-leading the project with her college nemesis, Levi Ward. Levi never seemed to like Bee and she doesn’t know why, but she’s not going to let it dull her spark. She’s too thrilled to do this!

Levi is the best thing about this book. The absolute best. I couldn’t have loved him more. True MVP, top tier book boy status. Who doesn’t love a grumpy hero who has had it bad for the heroine for so long. The LONGING in this book. It was my favorite thing. I also loved how Levi stood up for Bee and the other communication they had (though was completely unsurprising to me) was fantastic and sweet.

‘The Love Hypothesis’ was one of my favorite books last year, and while I liked this one in a lot of ways, it didn’t give me those love feels like that one did. Though it had one of the most amazing heroes, it was a bit predictable and felt disjointed to me at times. It could be that I don’t 100% understand all the science talk, but usually I’m fine with that. This was not a bad book at all, a 4 star rating is still great, I think I just expected it to be a new favorite and it wasn’t.

If you’re looking for a grumpy hero that deep down is a softy, a book with pining (sigh) and if you enjoy good banter and a You’ve Got Mail plot, pick this one up! I think so many will love this book and it had a lot of fun times!
