ALI HAZELWOOD IS AMAZING!!

Love on the Brain tells the story of Bee and her life as a female neuroscientist. An amazing opportunity comes to her to lead a project at NASA... the only catch is that her co-lead is someone who hates her. Thrown into this program and working with her nemesis, Levi definitely has its ups and downs. Secrets and true feelings are revealed leaving Bee to reconsider if Levi is her enemy or friend or maybe more...

This book was chaotic, fun and entertaining from start to finish. The only thing I hated was that the book ended... wish it did not end!!! I knew nothing about the brain but the way it is described in the book, makes you learn so much! Also, the Marie Curie tidbits of information were fun and eye-opening to know! This book did not disappoint in terms of the romance, plot, dialogue. Everything was just fantastic and a super great read!

Such a fun, light-hearted read. This rom-com had a little more depth & some cool science in it. Despite the main characters both being geniuses they lack a certain ability to interact with each other & have a history of misread cues & interactions. Throw in some difficult family history for one character & bad past relationships for the other & you have a sticky situation they have to work to unravel. Some mysterious sabotage at work on their important & costly project creates a good plotline.

I loved this book! It was even better than Hazelwood's first book. The characters were great and the science and discussion of women in STEM was interesting. I hope next time Hazelwood can write a full novel about the queer side characters. This book is perfect for people who enjoy romance novels.

I loved this book! So sweet and funny as all heck. I love this series surrounding STEM. The characters were flawed but so relatable and so funny. I can’t wait to recommend this to customers when it’s released. So much fun!!

This was so good - I love the continued women in stem representation in Ali Hazelwood's books! Levi and Bee were such lovable characters :)

I didn’t know I needed a STEM romance set at NASA in my life, but I really, really did. Bee and Levi must co-lead a joint NASA/NIH project, but they have history that dates back to their graduate school days. The two must work closely together despite a misunderstanding that has Bee believing that Levi loathes her, or does he? The story manages to be goofy and also serious as Bee encounters many of the challenges that face woman and marginalized groups in the male-dominated fields and spaces. The author has a knack for creating interesting premises and characters, as well as chemistry and spice that crackles on the page. I devoured the book in two sittings.

I actually liked Love on the Brain more than The Love Hypothesis. Here the lead characters are on a more equal footing as co-leads of a NASA/NIH project. And, though the plot does hinge on the misunderstanding trope, it is much more plausible and is executed in a way that doesn’t drag the plot down. Like, TLH, it is also told via Bee’s singular POV, but the reader has much better insight into what Levi is thinking and feeling than we did with Adam.
If you enjoyed Ali Hazelwood’s debut novel, The Love Hypothesis, you’re sure to like Love on the Brain.

Enemies to lovers trope reigns elite yet again. I personally enjoyed The Love Hypothesis better than Love on the Brain but I love this women in STEM series and cant wait for the next one!

This was so cute. Once I started it I didn't put it down. It has some of my favorites tropes, "enemies to lovers" , coworkers, he falls first- this book was witty and swoon worthy from start to finish. Levi is the book boyfriend we all want, and Bee is definitely the smart but totally clueless girl we all root for to finally see the signs of his love. The characters in this book had me laughing out loud- especially her assistant Rocío. If you want a cute Romcom with some good spice this is a definite must read.

I loved this book just as much as Ali Hazelwoods first. Levi and Bee are such dynamic characters with brilliant personalities and romance, I loved the turns the story takes and how lovely it turns out I loved the representation of women in Stem again. The passion and romance was so well done. Would recommend,

Another surefire hit from Ali Hazelwood! It's becoming evident that the author's ability to create vibrant characters in relatable situations is her greatest strength. I loved every single character in this book, and I felt like I understood even their more questionable choices in the context of who they were. The author also does a great job depicting realistic encounters between the romantic leads. Most of the story was paced wonderfully, with some excellent building tension as both the romance and the science plots progressed, but I did feel like the resolutions in this book were rushed. The social media one in particular had this problem, because so much of the build-up for the conflict was on the page, but then the resolution was hand-waved away. Overall, an incredible read!

LOVE ON THE BRAIN is a stellar new novel from the wonderful author, Ali Hazelwood. Just like the rest of BookTok last year, THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS had me in its clutches. I read that book in a day and was immediately needing more STEM in romance. LOVE ON THE BRAIN provides the same heart-pounding romance and amazing banter with our new characters, Bee and Levi. These two were such a joy to read--their chemistry was insane and I read this in one sitting. Ali Hazelwood continues to challenge stereotypes in male-dominated work fields, where the power of women in STEM is still undermined. This author is continually providing excellent commentary in the backdrop of a swoon-worthy romance that had my jaw on the floor. Fans of THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS are not to be disappointed. LOVE ON THE BRAIN is truly going to take the world by storm, and I am already anticipating what Ali Hazelwood will do next!

Love on the Brain is an adorable, captivating, and sexy smart novel that whips you in and makes you fall in love.

The romance, the writing, the plot, the feelings this book gave me—ugh! I couldn’t put it down.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for this ARC.

LEVI. The grumpy to Bee’s sunshine. The broody cinnamon roll. I was not ready to experience him and I don’t think I’ll ever forget him. His character fit so well into the story and the way he was written made me fall in love immediately.

The relationships throughout the story were so seamless and I felt as though each personality was unique. Some connections had me laughing out loud all into the night, while others made me want to keep reading to reveal the passion between the characters.

Bee and Levi’s relationship was so exciting and I am thankful there was a little more spice than the previous novel. It was perfect placed and spaced.

I will forever not stop thinking about this book. I am in love with Ali’s brand of science romance and cannot wait to read her next novellas. For me, she has been the bridge from fantasy into romance and I would like to stay in this genre a little longer.

Ali Hazelwood is my new favorite author. Her characters are real, quirky, and so fun to read! The humor was spot on, the romance swoony, the story engrossing. Loved it!

4.5 stars. Neuroscientist Bee is thrilled to get an offer from NASA to work on her dream project. Until she learns that her co-lead is none other than Levi, the annoying engineer from grad school who wouldn’t even look at her. But it’s too good an opportunity to pass up, so soon she’s on a plane to Houston with her delightfully goth research assistant. When Levi literally saves her life the first time they see each other again, Bee has a surprising reaction to his presence. But he’s still the same standoffish jerk he always was. Right?

This was a lot of fun. I won’t even bother trying to summarize the project they’re working on, but I’ll say it sounds very cool and complicated. Levi and Bee have scorching chemistry, but they’re also really cute together, as they learn how much they have in common. There was a Big Twist that I saw coming almost from the first page. But there was another that got me!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

Much like in The Love Hypothesis, Ali Hazelwood creates likeable and quirky characters for the leads in Love on the Brain. She is able to keep her story light and enjoyable all while addressing key issues in the STEM world.

Bee loves science, Marie Curie, and cats. What Bee doesn't love, or who she doesn't love, is Levi Ward. Bee has just been hired to lead a NASA-based project and she couldn't be happier. Until she finds out she's not actually leading it. She's co-leading it. With Levi Ward. Total buzzkill.

Ali Hazelwood managed to hit us with a one-two punch between The Love Hypothesis and Love on the Brain. No sophomore slump here. The characters are engaging and relatable, the dialog is witty and endearing, the sexy scenes are steamy. There is a lot to love about this book, I can't wait for it to come out and read it again.

I devoured The Love Hypothesis so had to get my hands on Ali's next book ASAP, and it did NOT disappoint! Just like TLH, I read this book in about 3 days. I love reading book about women in STEM, and I particularly enjoyed Bee's Twitter alter ego. I'm sure many women can relate to the situations faced by Bee and the others. In addition, even though I figured out right away who Schmac would be, her interactions with him were some of my favorite parts of the book. Made me smile and give me warm fuzzies.

I also love the heat level in this book. Hot hot hot!!!

Finally, this book was hilarious. Definitely had several LOL moments, which can often be lacking in books marketed as romcoms.

Thank you for Ali and the team at Berkley for the advance copy!!

Both Bee and Levi are top level scientists who are tasked with co-leading a project for NASA. Unfortunately Levi is Bee’s nemesis. In grad school he continually undermined her and said he would not work with her. Neither ever wanted to work together on anything. But here they are. It’s a classic enemies to lovers trope set in science nerd heaven.

This book is laugh out loud funny. In fact, as soon as I read it I went out and bought her first book. I read it in one sitting! Well worth it.

Truly I just loved the science framework and how much the lives and influence of women in STEM and Marie Curie framed this book. Bee founded and runs the twitter account @WHatWouldMarieDo, the “Marie” being Marie Curie. The account is anonymous and is for STEM women to discuss issues as the work in STEM and academia. It is a sort of lifeline for her, especially now that she is in such an all male bastion as NASA and it figures heavily into the story. She uses it to work out her issues at NASA- without naming NASA and Levi.

The evolving relationship between Bee and Levi is a slow burn, enemies to lovers that is delightful: fun and sexy with a bit of a mystery thrown in. There is a surprising twist in the relationship between Levi and Bee but I won’t spoil that.

You could make a case that the most interesting character in the book is Bee’s research assistant, Rocio, a Goth doomsayer who frames the emotions of almost every section of the novel. She is outrageous but eerily recognizable and provides a lot of comic relief.

Run, don’t walk, to get this amusing and campy book. I look forward to recommending this book to my patrons. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.

If you loved The Love Hypothesis, get ready! I’ve just finished Love on the Brain, and it’s settled: Ali Hazelwood is leading the charge of up-and-coming contemporary romance authors. I cannot get enough of her brand of brainy romance! Clever, sweet, hilarious, and sexy, Love on the Brain will check every romance-reader's box. Bee and Levi are captivating from page one, with an enemies-to-lovers romp that made me cackle like a madwoman more than once. Writing with an emotionally brilliant and witty pen, Hazelwood is an absolute romance powerhouse.
