Fran Duke is a chef whose dream is to open her own restaurant, she gives everything up to move to the country when a long lost relation, Amy Flowers, makes her an offer she can't refuse. Look after her farm for a year and if she makes a good job of it she will inherit. Amy is now living in a home but is still as sharp as a pin, she warns Amy off their neighbour, Antony, so Fran is very unsure what to make of the handsome, charming man who offers to help her out. She has been warned he just wants to get his hands on her farm but she can't help accepting the help he is offering her. Another gem from Katie Fforde, I love the fact that her heroines are kind, plucky and make the most of things with suitably annoying villains. Excellent.
Another great read from Katie Fforde to enjoy. I loved Fran and Issi and how they helped each other. Fran’s strength of character when having to cope with the ghastly Australian, her cheese making and her caring for the puppies all made for a really interesting read. Ir made me smile, and it made me angry on Fran’s behalf but I loved every page and would definitely recommend this book
A gorgeous feel good book with beautiful scenery and a cast of characters I instantly fell in love with, apart from Roy! I loved Fran, how ‘can do’ she was, the farm setting, the cheese making. A lovely story with plenty going on to keep you interested. Katie Fforde has a wonderful way with words.
When Fran is given a chance to inherit a farm she is excited and scared at the same time. Living in London doesn't prepare her for farm life. All she has to do is make the farm profitable within a year and it will belong to her. Overall I really enjoyed this one, except for evil Roy. Hated that guy! Otherwise, fun watching her learn how to make cheese, find love, and become a part of the community. Would highly recommend this one.
