This book was a real joy to read. I had waited impatiently after meeting Alex and Ivy in Christmas Surprises’ and couldn’t wait to see how their story would unfold. Sarah Bennett has a skilled hand when creating these stories, and I just knew that I would thoroughly enjoy this instalment.
Ivy is best friends with Laurie who runs the local café at the Point. Whilst they endured a minor misunderstanding that saw a brief estrangement, their friendship is now stronger than ever. I loved Ivy’s character, even though I have nothing in common with her. I don’t have a single artistic bone in my body, but I could still relate to her feelings of desolation as her mother loses her life to cancer. Her relationship with her estranged father becomes even more complicated after secrets about his divorce from her mother are revealed. Her final straw lands when she realises that there is no way that she could afford to buy the bookshop.
Alex comes across as a happy-go-lucky type. The younger brother to the Point’s new doctor, he is in possession of a small fortune as a result of his semi-fictional tell-all about his broken marriage and subsequent divorce. As he has matured, he isn’t incredibly proud of his bestseller status or his alter-ego, The Heartbreak Kid. He is determined to find another avenue for his writing talent.
I really loved these two characters, Alex is a sweet guy who has learned from his past and is eager to prove that he’s a serious writer. His kindness to Ivy may have been triggered by his attraction to her, but it soon becomes clear that his feelings are very real, and he struggles to reconcile his former self with who she actually needs by her side.
Ivy hasn’t really experienced any positive male influences except for Laurie’s Dad and brother, Andrew and Nick. She is naturally apprehensive about Alex’s plan to involve her in the bookshop, and her growing attraction to him.
I loved the story ARC in this fabulous instalment, the familiar characters play a welcome role in moving the story along, and Ivy and Alex received more development that made their stories stand out.
I’m looking forward to the next book in this series, I do believe it’s a chance to catch up with Nick Morgan.

Following a series means that you can get really involved in the characters lives as you see them pop in and out of the differing books. Last time I met Alex he was helping his brother, Tom the new Doctor at Mermaids Point settle in. He was at a crossroads in his life and could see that this little gem on the coast had healing properties. Even more so when he meets and flirts unashamedly with Ivy.

Ivy is having a tough time and her immediate future is all she can care about.

Time has moved on, Alex has made the decision to move to Mermaids Point and restart his life away from the city, away from the rash decision to publish a book under a pseudonym and also from his ex wife Jo. Buying a rundown bookshop seems like the perfect choice for Alex, it seems that rash decisions follow him everywhere.

Ivy is coming to terms with the death of her mother and the massive hole caring for her that has left. Now she can start to focus on herself. What she doesn’t realise is that the home, the life she has known is suddenly upended and she finds herself looking for everything home, job but most definitely not love.

However love has a funny way of finding you and that comes in the form of Alex, who can provide everything Ivy needs. Trouble is Ivy needs to see it first and Alex perhaps needs to be truthful about who he really is.

Being back in Mermaid’s Point is like returning home. The Morgan’s who feature strongly in the first couple of books are of course quite present in this novel, but it is very much the story of Alex and Ivy. You are on their side from the beginning and if I could have stepped into the book I would have certainly have shook both of them at some points, where the misunderstandings were just that.

Of course the path of true love never runs smooth and this relationship whilst off to a fast and fantastic start has to face some stumbling blocks. Some people don’t like this genre of fiction because it is making life to be too perfect, this is not true here. The author shows us life in all it’s ups and downs and realities most importantly and where doubts about people and trust issues can be affected by ones past. Both Alex and Ivy have that in abundance to resolve for them to be able to move on together of course.

Another strong read to this series of books and I highly recommend. Now if I could find my own Alex………

I couldn't wait to return to Mermaids Point and meet all the lovely people again. I love the venue and this close-knit community. The author did a great job with all three books in the series and built an amiable world with diverse characters.

I was rooting for Ivy and Alex from the beginning, and enjoyed seeing their friendship growing into a romance. Now it must be Nick's turn to be happy, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him...

Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC.

Ivy has lost her mum and is given a turn of unfortunate events. Alex is returning to the point and offers Ivy an opportunity.

Soon they are working closely alongside each other. Will Alex and Ivy give each other their hearts? The path of true love doesn't run smooth for them.

A real feel good read with the sense of community and coming together.

My second read by this author and despite being way outside my comfort zone (no gruesome dead bodies!) I am really enjoying this light romantic tale set in the fictional Cornish village of Mermaids Point. This is the third in the series but could easily be read as a stand-alone. Well written with an easy style that makes it a pleasure to read.

Briefly, Alex Nelson is unhappy, in fact embarrassed, by his bestselling book so when he gets the chance to buy an old rundown bookshop in Mermaids Point he jumps at the opportunity to leave his old lifestyle behind. When he meets up with Ivy Fisher there is an immediate attraction on both sides but neither of them wants to make the first move. But he is hiding a secret that could shatter their relationship.

The Mermaids Point is a lovely village community with the usual mix of kindhearted people and gossips but generally good supportive people. I read this in one sitting as I was enjoying it so much and I’ll definitely be looking out for the next in the series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Part of a series but can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Alex and Ivy who both have not been successful at a lasting relationship. A cute story with fun lovable characters. I haven't read the previous ones in the series so I think I will give them a try. Thanks #netgalley and #BoldwoodBooks for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

“An Unputdownable Fabulous Read”

This is the third book in the Mermaids Point series.

I’ve absolutely enjoyed reading the previous books of this uplifting series.

The book’s story is about Ivy and Alex, new members of the already loving community of Mermaids Point. They both have a past as well as having areas of their lives that have not been happy, whether it’s something that they’ve done or something that’s happened.

It was lovely to see their relationship develop from not liking each other to friends and then that growing into something more.

Of course the other members of the community had their stories to, which Ivy and Alex were involved with.

Looking forward to visiting the gorgeous village of Mermaids Point again.

Highly Recommend This Series.

The Mermaids Point series has been my absolute favourite, so I was absolutely over the moon to get straight in to Ivy and Alex's story. After seeing subtle hints towards Ivy and Alex's blossoming romance in previous books, I had already slowly started to fall in love with them and couldn't wait to dive in to their full story. Ivy and Alex are two extremely strong characters who you will just absolutely adore - Ivy is a rather independent woman, who has been through too many tough situations in her lifetime, she is an admirable woman and deserved her happy beginning with a man who completely doted on her. Alex was an absolute dream man, as said, he doted on Ivy at every given possibility and his intentions towards her had always been obvious to the eye. They are a beautiful couple, each with broken pasts and their story of healing together was just incredibly heartwarming and I love them so much. It was really lovely to be back at Mermaids Point and reunite with the other characters also, they are such a strong and loving community, I could only wish to live in such a stunning location!

🌊Community-oriented romance: okay, but not for me🤔

2.5-3.0 🌟 stars
The principal couple here, Alex and Ivy, have a large cohort of
normal (not quirky) family, neighbors and friends who are ever-present in this story. I don't know if that's partly why, but I found this a very slow read. I particularly found the nitty gritty account of Alex and Ivy's store's refurbishment drained my interest in the action.

Lucifer aka Lucy the local roaming cat and Alex's nemesis was, I guess, supposed to offer a comic touch. I am siding with Alex here; Lucy was just annoying.

I'd read one previous book in the series about Tom and Nerissa's romance that I liked much better. I guess this just was not the right pick for me.

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I've enjoyed all the books in the Mermaids Point series, and this one was no exception. I could totally understand the way Ivy and Alex behaved at times due to their baggage. As always in Mermaids Point, couples get together very quickly. I did find Ivy a little irritating at times. The ending was rushed - I think the reader deserved an epilogue, or a longer reunion scene at least. It was a shame that Ivy and Alex's friends had to smoothe things over between them, that conversation would have been interesting to read. A special mention must go to Lucifer the cat. He was so funny. The scenes with him and Alex were hilarious. A good read, all in all. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Yay!!! The final part of the Mermaid series of books!! Can be read as a stand alone book too!
This is predominantly the story of Ivy and Alex, although many of the gorgeous characters from the previous Mermaid seasons also appear.
Ivy's mother has died after suffering a long illness, and the whole community of Mermaid Point comes together to support her with her loss. New to the Point Alex, who holds a secret, also comes to support her. What will Ivy do now? After caring for her mother for a long time, will she need to sell her home? Where will she live and work?
Brilliant!!! Always love reading a Sarah Bennett book!! Easy to read, warm and wonderful, a gorgeous treat! Comfort blanket reading!! Hurray!!!
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood books for the early read highly recommended and such a treat!!!!

I love this charming yet contemporary series and the inhabitants of The Point, a gorgeous seaside village. And, that is the best thing about a series - catching up with much loved characters. Since meeting Alex previously I've been looking forward to his story but I did feel that unusually this one was almost solely Alex and Ivy. I missed the other characters and the variety a wider cast brings. That said another gorgeous, heart-warming, feel good story and I can't wait for the next one - fingers crossed it'll be Nick's story.....

Love Blooms at Mermaids Point is sunshine-y, cozy, and definitely a book I would want to jump into. Although, it had its cheesy moments (which I only half-way minded) and Ivy's (self-imposed) drama came suddenly, I loved the sense of community, the amount of imagery the writer gives, and the overall warmth of this read.

This story follows the story of Ivy (who we have met in previous Mermaid Point books) who has just lost her mum. Her mum has been ill a long time and Ivy has been her sole carer since her father left when she was only a child, Although this is very much a stand alone read we do get to catch up with characters for the previous books which I always enjoy. Ivy is at a cross roads in her life - she is free from responsibilities for anyone but herself and wants to try and expand her small business, which she has been running from the spare bedroom of her home. Ideally she would like to buy her own shop from the proceeds of her childhood home, but when she finds out that her father still owns half of this and he wants his share asap that dream falls apart. Grieving, lost and soon to be homeless she does not know where to turn and the last thing she needs is a crush on Alex - the younger brother of the village doctor. However, when Alex offers her a fantastic business opportunity can she keep her feelings for him under control or will being in such close proximity daily be too much of a temptation?

Love Blooms at Mermaids Point is a wonderful English romance that will have you feeling so warm and cozy.

When I say I was excited for this book to come out, I need you to picture how excited kids get when they find out they are going to Disneyland. That was the level of excitement that I had for this book. Sarah did not disappoint me at all! I adored everything about Love Blooms at Mermaids Point, and I ended up re-reading it again right away. Before you read this book, I would recommend reading the other books in the series or at least Second Chances at Mermaids Point and Christmas Surprises. These two books introduce you to Ivy and Alex and give you their backstories that you will need to understand what is happening in this book.

I love the world of Mermaids Point; it centers around this charming coastal English town and the community of people who live in it. When I started this book, I had a sense of coming home. It was wonderful seeing familiar faces and spending time just hanging out at Laurie’s Cafe or walking the streets. Sarah has done a great job making sure that each book in this series is fresh and exciting. If you are a fan of stories centred around bookstores and renovations, you will enjoy this book. I know I am a sucker for a good reno book; I just love watching characters breathe new life into spaces.

I loved the plot in this book! It had everything that I hoped for. There was laughter, romance, moments (especially at the beginning) where I was tearing up, and enough twists to keep me interested. I felt the direction Sarah chose to take with Ivy and Alex’s story stayed true to these two characters and the community of Mermaids Point. Sarah also does a beautiful job setting up readers for the next book in this series.

There was just something about Ivy and Alex that captured my attention right from the first time they appeared in this series. I had that instant connection with them, and when these two met for the first time, I knew that their love story would be the stuff happy ever afters was made of. Their romance is this beautiful mix of friends to lovers, forced-proximity tropes. I really enjoyed how their love story unfolded. It just felt authentic, and the build-up of chemistry between these two was just so delicious. Both Ivy and Alex are coming out of serious life situations. Ivy hasn’t had much of a life because she has been taking care of her mom. She also has some trust issues with men because of her father. Alex is coming out of a bad marriage and doesn’t know if he will re-enter the dating world. I loved how Sarah didn’t rush these two into an intimate relationship. With their complicated backstories, it wouldn’t have made sense if they jumped into bed with each other.

Love Blooms at Mermaids Point is a book that will charm your romantic socks off.

Thank you NetGalley, Sarah Bennett and Boldwood Books for the ARC of Love Blooms at Mermaid Point. This is my personal review.
I was so happy to get back to Mermaid Point and be back with everyone who now feels like family as I read this series.
This story is about Alex and Ivy. I was so excited to read about the path they took to get to the place they both want to be in life.
The romance is a huge part of this book but as you read you will find out the two have so many hurdles to get over. The author has done a magnificent job writing this series.

This is the third book in the Mermaids Point series - I didn't realize that when I requested this book to review. It's easily read as a stand-alone, you get enough back ground info during this story to figure out whats happening in town.

The main characters are great - the townsfolk and additional characters are interesting enough to make me want to go back and start the series and wonder where it all goes after this one. There is a lot going on in this story - Alex moves to Mermaids Point, buys a bookstore and meets Ivy. Ivy's just lost her mother, finds out her father is a bigger jerk than she even thought, has to sell her cottage and needs a place to work. Luckily, Alex arrives in time to help out - and sparks are flying. It's an easy read and a sweet story.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
