I will start this one off by saying I have read The Boyfriend Project, but have not read The Dating Playbook. I liked this one better than The Boyfriend Project, but some of the problems I had with that book carried into this one. So, here we go 🙂.

What I liked:
- Great pacing. I loved that the story moved along pretty quickly.
- Loved the characters. Drew and London were adorable. ❤️
- Loved that there was no giant blowup where Drew and London stop talking to each other due to some sort of secret or miscommunication. The characters are very adult and talk and their relationship grows throughout the novel. Loved it.
- Loved London’s passion for her job, her relationship with her siblings, her mom, her friends. London is a good person, and you cheer for her throughout the whole book.

What didn’t work for me:
- Just like “The Boyfriend Project”, “The Hookup Plan” plan was not really anything? It’s mentioned once, and then really is more of just an agreement. They just hookup a lot. It was a weak premise to build on, pushed in the beginning and then sort of nothing later. I think this could have been removed and the story would have been fine. Unfortunately it would have changed the title 😂.
- The characters were so hung up on the high school versions of themselves. Like it was 15 years ago. I think it’s fine to have this at the beginning, but the way it was strung constantly throughout the entire book.
- I don’t know if we really needed London’s character to have the health issues in addition to the problems with her dad. If felt like a lot to pack into one book, and while she mentions the health issues here and there near the end, they sort of disappear after her forced leave.

Final Thoughts:
I thought this was a great read! I sort of was hoping for the downfall of Coleman, that asshole 😡. Like, I was hoping London would take over the whole hospital or something. But I liked how this book focused on London learning to take time for herself, and focus on her health and what’s best for her, and letting herself find happiness and love with Drew. All while being amazing at what she does.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher Forever for this eARc. This was a good read. A good enemies to loves read that was easy to get into.

Normally I’m wary of any enemies/rivals-to-lovers stories, but Drew and London’s love story was actually one that I was actively rooting for. I loved London as what’s not to love about a female lead who is a sassy, kick butt paediatric surgeon that passionately cared about her patients and their families? It also didn’t hurt that Drew wasn’t just another arrogant and overly cocky, rich “alpha” male. Both he and London were not only great at their jobs, but they were honestly good people trying to do good work even when the odds were stacked against them. It was a relief that neither of them gave up a part of themselves or settled when it came to their relationship; instead, they were able to stay true to themselves while being there for each other, both personally and professionally.

Could not put this book down! I had not read the other two books in this series, but it's not necessary as all. However, I did promptly order both, after finishing this.

The Hookup Plan centers around London who is a successful and highly respected pediatric surgeon. Her professional life is thriving, but her personal life (or lack there of) could really use some help. Her two closest friends suggest that a casual hookup, with so strings attached, is exactly what London needs to de stress and add a little more balance to her regular workaholic routine. A classic enemies to lovers troupe but with a twist. The first of many hookups happens very early on, when London attends her High School reunion and is face to face with billionaire Drew, he number one rival in high school. While they still butt heads they just cant get enough of each other.

The Hookup Plan is one heck of a ride with many twist and turns. Some predictable, so not so much. I enjoyed every bit of this book and can't wait to dive into the other two in this series.

This was a fun, quick read. I went back and read the other books in the series afterwards because this author was new to me.

I had to DNF this book halfway through because I was unfortunately not a fan of London as a character. She was a lot and was not for me.

I’ve liked this series from the very beginning. I remember buying the first book before I had even read the book. Thankfully when I did read it, I did enjoy it lol Although the friend I was most excited for already came out, I was still excited for London to meet her match. And meet him she did!

Ok now I know you’ve heard me say I don’t like enemies to lovers, but this one I had to try since I’ve read the rest of the series. As it turns out tho, it wasn’t very much of an enemies to lovers romance tho. They hated each other during high school and re-met during their reunion. And just when they fall back into their old habits, London adds something else to their teasing….. They start doing it. And I’m talking like by chapter 3. Now normally that doesn’t matter to me, but when I set myself up to prepare for something, I had built it up in my head for nothing lmao It was a bit of a bummer? I don’t know how to explain it.

The rest of the romance was super cute. I LOVED that London was the only one that was competing and Drew was pining. Gah I don’t know what it is, but a pining man is like my weakness. Especially if he’s been pining and the other love interest doesn’t have a clue. I don’t understand how they never know, but whatever. it makes for good entertainment. And with this one being the super driven woman that she is, I knew she wasn’t going to know anything at all. And I was right lol But I liked it even when she didn’t really know. Like when they were just doing it when they had the pact. But I loved how everything turned out. Besides the fact that this was another book that had a billionaire love interest and the other love interest didn’t want to take his money. This is one trope I will never understand lol

However, don’t go in there expecting anything other than a fade to black romance. For the most part, it was closed door. If anything, there’s like 1 or 2 scenes where she actually says what’s happening. Just wanted to make sure you don’t go in there and get disappointed. (I’m saying this because I’ve seen some people saying they didn’t know about it…) But even without all the spicy scenes being open door, I thought it was still a pretty cute romance.

Their individual characters were amazing. I LOVED London and what she was doing at the hospital. I loved that she was still the strong willed and driven character she was in the other books. I loved that even her getting with Drew didn’t change her. As for Drew, I loved that he was different from the other MMC in Rochon’s other books. He pined for her from the beginning and wanted to give her everything since the beginning. Even though he knew she would like castrate him if he tried and she didn’t “earn” it. And I loved that he knew that before they even got together.

This book was probably my favorite book of the series. Even with the weird enemies to lovers and the closed door romance, I was so happy to see them together. But what I loved most about this was super strong London. I had a lot more fun with this than the others, and I can say I’m sad that this series is over.

I've enjoyed all three books in this series. The women's friendship is so fun and I love the way they tease each other and seem like they've been friends for years. I really enjoyed the set up of this last novel - *almost* second chance but without the first chance - SO fun. It was easy to admire London and Drew's individual drive toward their career paths and there were some very sad and poignant family moments woven throughout the story. I loved the way the trilogy wrapped up and I look forward to more from this author in the future!!

This was the first book I have read by Farrah Rochon. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy from NetGalley. I will first say that I did enjoy this book. It was not too heavy in subject matter and had a nice happy ending. I will say that I found some of the subjects very repetitive and not believable, like the young doctor with high blood pressure and all these issues that go along with it. Maybe I found it not believable because I have a medical background, but I found it to be an addition to the story that was not needed. This rivals to lovers story about London, the young perfectionist surgeon and Drew, the wealthy businessman hooks you pretty quickly. They were rivals in high school and sort of fall into a hook up relationship but slowly the realize that they are developing feelings for each other. It was a sweet story and a nice read.

I loved London and Drew's story. I enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers aspect of their relationship. I will definitely be reading this author again. The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon
The Boyfriend Project series #3. Contemporary diverse romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but the ending does include the women from the first two books and refers to how they met (book 1).
London and Drew were rivals in high school. When they meet again at a reunion, London decides that Drew is the perfect candidate for a casual hookup. Complications pop up when they realize he could be the person that shuts down the place she works.

I loved London’s confidence in herself and her passion. So empowering. Sharing her issues with Drew also made her approachable and his reaction was suburb.
A great wrap to the series.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

This is my first book by this author and although this is part of a series it could be read as a standalone. It has open door sex and a HFN ending but it read to me more like women’s fiction, which was just fine. I enjoyed the cast of characters. I really liked the growth of London as she learned more about herself and figured out to manage her stress. Drew was a delightful cinnamon roll hero. I really loved London’s realization about her father. I also appreciated the messaging about community services that went throughout the book.

Thank you NetGalley!!!
I really enjoyed this read! The banter between London and Drew was hilarious. They are so cute and she is blind or shall I say was blind!

If you enjoy books that start out as hookups and turn into more I think you'll love this book. For me that wasn't the selling point though. What I loved was the enemies to lovers aspect. I love it when characters grow to love each other.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

First of all, I want to give a shout out to Samiah, Taylor, & London for finding each other and becoming #Girlbosses on their own terms!! The hookup plan is the 3rd and final installment of The Boyfriend Project trilogy so I will definitely miss these characters which I enjoyed very much. In #TheHookUpPlan Pediatric surgeon London finds herself in an arrangement with an old classmate and rival: Drew Sullivan. While London insists on keeping things strictly physical, Drew knows there can be more between them if London just lets him in. The cast of characters are well developed and each have compelling side stories going on. The one that sticks out to me is the theme about the healthcare industry that permeate the novel: issues from patients not having insurance to competitive doctors, hospitals struggling to stay afloat it reminded me of the broken system the United States has in place in the healthcare industry. But enough of that!! The Spice in this book does not disappoint! London did not mince words and did not play games when it came to telling Drew *exactly* what she wanted!! It was nice to get to know London and see her in her own element with her family, career, and the other girls from The Boyfriend Project Samiah & Taylor. I really enjoyed the story, as well as the series and I can’t wait to see what else Farrah Rochon has in store for her readers!! Finally I want to say Thank you 🙏🏾to @readforeverpub for sending me the ARC & Finished copy of the book and @netgalley for giving me the audiobook which came in handy when my schedule got too busy to sit down and read! This series was fun, sexy, and funny and definitely worth the hype!

For good and bad, I powered through this book while in a reading slump. Maybe I should have DNFed it, but after I had started it and put it down for a few weeks, I found myself with a whole day of no obligations and the desire to read all day.

This book is the third in a series and though I have not read the previous two books, I was able to follow along with this one. London is a hotshot pediatric surgeon and hooks up with her high school rival, now millionaire, Drew at their reunion only to find him sitting across the conference room the next Monday at the hospital where she works. They agree to a hookup-only arrangement, but we all know it didn’t stay that way.

I wanted to like this book so much since it was set in Austin, my hometown, but I think for that same reason, it made me hyper-critical. Firstly, she mentions her school mascot was the Trojans and then names a fake high school, Barbara Jordan High. (BJ High, heh.) That’s fine, name a fake school, makes sense, BUT then don’t name the school (my school) who were ACTUALLY the Trojans as her characters’ school rival. Incorrect. There were also numerous phrases and saying that wouldn’t be said in the way they were written. It just felt like performative Austin, like she’d been there a couple times and then talked to someone from there. It very much felt like all her information came through the veil of nostalgia and love for the city, not from lived life experiences in it.

I ABSOLUTELY have to give a few shout outs though. Shout out to playing “Low” by Flo Rida at the reunion. It immediately set the time/age of these people for me. Also, shout out for shouting out the incredible pancakes at Kerbey Lane. #truth

Big #thanks to @netgalley for the ARC!

4 stars - Great! Might re-read.

A steamy addition to this series that stars three women who met because they were scheduled for a date with the same man. This is an enemies-to-lovers story. Because of the nature of the relationship here - a hook up with no strings - there's heavy emphasis on the characters' physical relationship early in the book. The character development and deeper relationship moments build over time with a nice evolution, especially for London. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the ending was satisfying! (Language, sex)

4.25 stars!

In the highly anticipated conclusion to the Boyfriend Project series, we finally get London's story!! London is a respected paediatric surgery resident who is fiercely dedicated to her patients, but is struggling to find balance between her personal and professional life. According to her friends, London needs a casual hookup to destress and let loose. What London didn't expect is for her casual hookup to be her high school rival with delicious abs, Drew, but when they cross paths at their high school reunion, the tension between them is palpable. What London expected even less, was to run into Drew at the hospital where she works the following Monday - so much for no strings attached.

I love so much about this book! The banter and chemistry between London and Drew is 11/10, aided by the history they have with one another. The romance between London and Drew interweaves personal issues and family problems they each need to grow through. I really liked London as a character and I was rooting for her the whole time I was reading. This is definitely my favourite in the trilogy!

Thank you so much to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and #NetGalley for the arc!!

Since the start of the year, I have been counting down the days until Farrah Rochon’s latest release. This third installment in the Boyfriend Project series follows pediatric surgeon London Kelley, who is desperately in need of some relaxation. When her friends suggest a casual hookup, London believes she’s found it with her old rival Drew. The heat between them is off the charts, but things cool down quickly when London realizes he’s in town to potentially shut down her hospital.

Having read the other two books in this series, I couldn't wait to finally learn about London. I really liked the way that Rochon explored the pressures put on her at work, especially as one of the few people unafraid to speak her mind and always ready to protect the rest of the staff, as well as the way she felt pressure from her father. Plus her growing relationship with her siblings was really special to witness, and it was great to see her realizing that they were people she wanted to prioritize more in her life.

I absolutely loved Drew -- he's such a wonderful and supportive hero. It's clear from the start how much he's always admired London and I loved his devotion to making sure she was making time for herself and for finding happiness.

I've really enjoyed this series from Farrah Rochon—especially its focus on a group of women who support each other in every way possible. I can't wait to see what she does next.

I really enjoyed these books. The ladies were connected in the most unusual way but they became fast and true friends. They decide to take some time off men to pursue their own individual goals and ambitions. The project deliberately undermines the societal expectation that a woman needs to find a significant other to be complete. I really liked that aspect of these stories.

The best part was how the author made these professional, intelligent and DOPE women shine on their own. The men that came into their lives saw that shine, and pursued these women because of it.

London (The Hook-up Plan) is a resident in paediatric surgery, but has made major waves in her hospital for her professional and personal integrity, as well as her skills as a surgeon.

Drew is a a consultant, and a former sore spot for London, who felt a strong sense of competition in high school where he was concerned! He turns out to be absolutely incredible, supportive and HOT!

It is a refreshing take on romance, where the females are absolutely fantastic in their own right, and find a partner who respect and admire them in equal measure.
