The Hookup Plan has many troupes that will be loved by those who read the romance genre. It has enemies to lovers, friends (well kind of enemies) to lovers, man falls first, and the main character of this book is in STEM (she is a surgeon) so it has a lot of different troupes that will surely be loved by many.
Unfortunately they didn’t come together to work out for me the way I had hoped. As much as I love the enemies to lovers troupe, I just couldn’t connect with these characters. Since the book is very character driven, and I couldn’t seem to connect with them I couldn’t get into a stride with this book.
I really wanted to love the comedic banter between the main characters but at times I was stopping and thinking ‘did she really just say that’ because some of the language and banter was just odd to me and didn’t read flirty like I think it was intended.
The first part of the book many of the ‘romance’ scenes with the characters were fade to black but yet the language the main character was using was pretty spicy so it felt very disconnected.
What I did really enjoy about this book was the strong female lead. London is very self assured and knows what she wants in life and isn’t afraid to ask for it, both in her work and personal life.
I think this book would work well for someone who likes more character driven romance, and doesn’t mind it being closed door. Also someone looking for a strong female character.
Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3.75 stars ☆ Enemies/rivals with benefits to lovers, mhm since this was the trope I’m always down bad for.
It was really good. The banter between London and Drew really made me enjoy reading this book more.
I’m just a bit confused when it comes to enemies with benefits there’s smut and I’m talking about like full smut not fade to black/rushed smut. idk if it’s just a me thing since it’s just that’s what I’m expecting from it. But if you’re okay with it, it’s still good. You still have those scenes but not all of them.
Since it’s my first book from this author and I have the second book from this series, I’ll give it a try to read this since everyone loved this series.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC !!

I got this book from NetGalley a while back, but with the inclusion of spoilers, I wanted to wait until it publicly released before posting my review.
"And just like that, Farrah Rochon’s The Hookup Plan brings The Boyfriend Project to an end. Our admiration for this series has never been a secret and to know that Rochon has got a satisfying conclusion to it is a treat we’ll always be thankful for. Remember when we kept saying we need this series to be adapted onto our screens somehow? We still mean it—every word. And now that it’s finished, someone should hurry to pick it up.
Farrah Rochon’s The Hookup Plan follows London Kelley and her high school nemesis, Drew Sullivan, in a rivals with benefits situation that leads to the kind of romance that’s utterly satisfying and, most importantly, believable."

Enemies to Lovers was well done! My favorite trope and I’m so glad the tension and attraction were well written! Good banter and good steam although there’s a lot of fade to black so don’t expect heavy spice! If you liked the previous books in this series you will love this one, and even though you technically could read as a stand-alone I think it’s better as a series. Overall I think Drew and London were a good match and I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a good strong female main character and some enemies to lovers romance :)
* read as an ARC from Netgalley

4.5 stars
The Hookup Plan is the third book in The Boyfriend Project romance series. You could read this book as a standalone novel but given part of the charm of the series is the strong female friendships, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. That way you can see how London, Samiah, and Taylor first met. Each book features one of the ladies and a potential love interest with London as the lead character in this one.
At her high school reunion, pediatric surgeon London Kelley runs into her former classmate and arch nemesis, Drew Sullivan. They were co-valedictorians of their class and let's just say she was pretty competitive when it came to Drew. But that was then, and this is now and Drew is looking mighty fine. They hook up but it's totally just a one time thing. Well, maybe a casual fling while he's here in town. Or maybe....
This book is my favorite in the series and I think it works well because the characters already have this prior history. And having read the other books, you already feel like you know London and are rooting for her to be happy. Drew is a likeable character and it does melt your heart to know he always had a crush on London even when she couldn't stand him. Great chemistry between the two characters. Every romance has some conflicts and drama, but nothing feels over the top or unnecessary. It's just a very good contemporary romance.
Highly recommend checking this series out if you like romances with funny back and forth banter and steamy love scenes. While I'm sad to know this book is most likely the last in the series, I can't wait to check out what the author has in store next.

Thank you to Netgally for allowing me to give my honest thoughts on The Hookup Plan.
The Third installment to The Boyfriend Project where we follow London who is a Pediatric Surgeon and she is coming up on her High School reunion. She is also in the process of finding a Hobby because that was her part of the Boyfriend Project that they came up with.
I loved all three books in the series but I felt like London's book showed more on what its like to be an African American Female in the Medical field as well as Just trying to keep it all together when you feel like things are falling apart. I loved the banter and then romance between London and Drew. London was not going for it at first.
Overall a good end to the series.

London Kelley just needs something casual to help de-stress from her crazy work life as a pediatric surgeon. Insert gorgeous, successful Drew Sullivan...who also happens to be London's arch nemesis from high school. And he has been hired by the hospital where London works to complete a finance audit.
This was my favorite in the series. There wasn't as much tension and pull as is typical for an enemies to lovers romance. Drew was adorable and just what London needed.
This series shows strong, independent women, which is great. I also found the auditing of the hospital interesting but that's probably because I work in healthcare.
Overall I really enjoyed the last installment in the Boyfriend Project series. I would recommend to Ali Hazelwood fans. I think her books have a similar vibe.
I also lover this cover!

I have enjoyed Farrah Rochon’s Boyfriend Project series a lot and The Hookup Plan has been one of my most anticipated reads this year. In the first book, The Boyfriend Project, Rochon created three women who meet and become friends when they all find themselves dating the same guy. The three – Samiah, Taylor, and London – make a pact to be friends and hold each other accountable as they strive to work on different areas of their lives. Dr. London Kelly, a pediatric surgical resident, needs to work on reducing stress. Her friends point out that sex is an excellent source of relaxation.
The months of June and July ended up being incredibly stressful for me and as much as I wanted to read London’s book, reading about a woman who is under enormous pressure and taking care of everyone but herself was tough. Once I slept through my first day of vacation, I picked up a The Hookup Plan and flew through it. I love London. She is fierce and soft and trying so hard to be the best version of herself that she can. She desperately needs more balance in her life, to take better care of herself. Along comes her high school nemesis, Drew. He had a huge crush on her in high school, but she saw him only as competition for the highest grades. Despite her protest that she doesn’t like him, they hook up, and one night turns into the weekend, and then even more nights. Drew’s company is in town doing a financial audit on the publicly funded hospital where London is finishing her residency. (BTW, the only publicly funded hospital in Austin is the Austin State Hospital, which is a psychiatric hospital. Gotta love Texas.)
London is such a great character to spend time with. She is a determined advocate for her patients and co-workers. People look up to her and to her for leadership. What she discovers in the book is that she is worth the care that she gives others. In learning to take care of herself, in learning to really let go of her daddy issues, she becomes more open and vulnerable with not just Drew, but also her much younger siblings and other important people in her life.
After some early miss-steps which made me give Drew the side-eye, he turns into a lovely character who appreciates London for who she is, while pushing her to make room for him in her life. Of the three books, this is the strongest romance. One of the things I love about Farrah Rochon, is that her characters never exist in a vacuum. London and drew have relationships separate from the one they have with each other. The time they spend apart with friends, family and co-workers fleshes them both out nicely.
My only caveat for this book is that it may be triggering for people who have food issues. London has high blood pressure, and she knows her diet contributes to the problem. She spends chunks of time in the book eating things that can raise her blood pressure and then feeling bad about it. Having gone through my own bout of having to give up foods I love, it felt relatable, but it’s hard to write about food issues without triggering unhealthy social messages about food and weight. (Food is morally neutral!) The food issues are part of London’s arc in needing to take better care of herself.
The Hookup Plan is a lovely and satisfying sex first, feelings and friendship later romance. It’s not really an enemies to lovers, because Drew refuses to be London’s enemy. I just really enjoyed it and I’m glad I finally got the time and brain space to read it.

The Hook up Plan
Book is out now- 08/02/2022
This was such a fun and quick read. I love how our main female character is a strong black successful pediatric surgeon. Working in healthcare, I felt that I could relate to London in many different ways. The tension and banter between London and Drew was great and I enjoyed how the relationship grew between the two.
This was a solid 4⭐️ from me and I would highly recommend for anyone to get the book.
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for the e-arc, "The Hook up Plan," for an honest review.

I LOVED this book and characters! It was the perfect mix of fun and a quick rolling plot that sucks you in! An enemies to lovers trope with perfect execution mixed with laughs and feelings! This is my first book by this author and while this technically fits in with 2 others in there series, it can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. I definitely plan on catching up on this author's offerings!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and opinion! 5-stars!!!!

Thank you @readforeverpub and @netgalley for the #gifted eARC of THE HOOKUP PLAN!
In THE HOOKUP PLAN we finally get London’s love story and it was well worth the wait! While I love Samiah and Taylor, London has always been my favorite of the three friends.
And my goodness, Drew Sullivan is a dreamy partner for London. SWOON!
The enemies-to-lovers trope has recently become one of my favorite romance tropes and this one didn’t disappoint!
As sad as I am that The Boyfriend Project series is now at an end, I can’t wait to see what Farrah Rochon writes next!

I loved this book! I didn’t expect it to be as funny as it was. Both characters were hilarious together and you feel the chemistry right from the start. I liked that both characters were thoroughly fleshed out and had wants that are clear from the beginning. Side characters added to the dynamic and also had depth. The flow of the story kept me engaged and hooked on the story. Overall, a great read I would recommend others check out if they want to read a cute romance.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

The Hookup Plan is the final book in The Boyfriend Project series about three friends who meet during a dinner that goes viral. The story features London and Drew, arch rivals and co-valedictorians in high school, who reconnect at a class reunion.
I like the series not only for the romance but also the strong female friendships. Samiah, Taylor and London are so supportive of each other and are there to cheer each other on or offer advice. I enjoyed the banter between London and Drew. There was a mix of steamy scenes and fade to black. The book also addresses more serious topics such as work-life balance and the cost of hospital care. The story finishes with a cute epilogue that wraps up the three books.
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for my e-copy of this book.

This is the third installment of the Boyfriend Project series. In this book we meet Dr. London Kelly who is a hard-working pediatric surgeon who has no work-life balance. She meets her nemesis at her high school reunion and starts a no-strings-attached series of hookups with him that soon turn to something more. (hate to love trope)
There were so many great things about this book. The characters learned about themselves and grew as characters. The friendship network and support was awesome. And author Farrah Rochon writes conflict without drama where her characters effectively communicate with each other. (The major conflict for our MC is with her father). And the epilogue pulled together the whole series with an update on each woman in the friendship group.
The one thing that I wished there was more of was the chemistry building between the two love interests. It felt like the went from her hating him to being in love very quickly with no "zings" or "chills" that I love so much in other romances. The characters certainly changed and grew in how they thought about each other, but the chemistry just wasn't there for me for the second half of the book.
Overall a good read.

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.
The Hookup Plan was a JOY!
Farrah Rochon has become an auto-buy author for me.
I love the contrasts between the two leads London and Drew!
The characters just match! I love when that happens.
The banter and the steam were top notch aswell!

I was really looking forward to reading this book unfortunately it didn’t wow me as much as I had expected. I did like the idea of where the story started and where it continued going. I guess for me it was just slower than I would have liked. I definitely felt like it revolved more around the hospital issues that she faced than the romance. I really liked the character devolvement but just wasn’t into the relationship they had as much as them as individuals. I would recommend this book to people that love slow burns and like to read about realistic problems people face in their day to day lives.Thank you NetGalley and forever (grand central publishing) for allowing me to read this book!

This series has been so forth coming from the first book. This book was no different offering a page turner and a story line of characters I could get behind. I enjoyed every bit of London's story! :)
Sometimes it takes the right environment, circumstances and time for a relationship to bloom.
This was a refreshing take on the enemies to lovers trope coupled wth a great backstory for both main characters and how we saw their relationship developed throughout the book.
Drew patiently pursued London breaking down her stoney defences from high school academic rivals to hookup buddies and then eventually to lovers.
Great chemistry, banter and story development throughout the book coupled with some swoon worthy dialogue from Drew.
I also loved that the book highlighted the continued growth and connection between the friendship in this series which connected all three books in this adventure of the girls finding and living their best lives.
Thanks again for the opportunity for this ARC! :)

I highly anticipated The Hookup Plan, and it was worth the wait. I do have to say that this unfortunately was my least favorite in the series, but with that also being said, it was still amazing!!! Farrah Rochon knows how to bring the steam! The Hookup Plan is an enemy to lover's trope. London and Drew were school rivals back in the day and now they are working together temporarily and man, you can feel the chemistry and steam!! The constant back-and-forth banter between London and Drew is hilarious and very cute. I love Drew's character the most, London is a bit standoffish and too cold for my liking sometimes. Overall, The Hookup Plan is an amazing read. If you are looking for a rom-com and love some steamy parts, this one is for you!!
Thank you, Net Galley, and Forever for an ARC in return for my honest review.

The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon was the outline for academic rivals to friends with benefits to lovers. It follows London a resident pediatric surgeon and Drew a rich businessman; they were rivals back in high school but can one night change all of that? Can it lead to love? The FMC was somebody I look up to with her powerful stances and as a pediatric resident friendly with the nurses and advocating for them made her 10x better than anybody. The MMC fell first and he fell harder, which makes him all the more swoon-worthy. On top of it all, he was $$$ which definitely makes him a 10. The writing style was good, not great, in my opinion, there were parts I found cringy and a little rushed. But I liked how the book was written in dual POV, which added depth to the characters as well as gave the reader an advantage by knowing where each character stands with each other. London's friend group reminded me of my own with their openness and honesty with each other, and I loved the way Farrah wrote their characters.

A VERY solid 4 star read!! The Hookup Plan is the third book in The Boyfriend Project series. However, it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the other two books yet and didn’t feel lost going into book 3.
Let me first start off by raving about London Kelly, a badass pediatric surgeon. 👏🏻 We love to see a strong independent female 👏🏻 London knew her worth and wasn’t going to take shit from anyone - not her sexist boss or her old high school rival, Drew. Speaking of Drew, add him to my list of favorite book boyfriends because this man delivers!
The romance in this book is top-tier. If you’re looking for miscommunication or that tired third act break-up scene, you won’t find that here 🙌🏻 I loved the banter between London and Drew, they had me laughing out loud so many times while reading.
Although this is a romance, you will also find themes of grief, family, and friendship woven in the story. Both London and Drew are strong, smart, successful characters but are dealing with real issues like sexism, loss of a loved one, and toxic parental relationships. I felt that each of these added depth and complexity to the story and were handled well.
