Thank You to NetGalley, Knopf, and Corban Addison for the free e ARC.
I love the book cover. I wanted to read this book as it reminded me of Erin Brockovich. The book did not disappoint. Set in North Carolina, a close-knit, rural community who has had nothing but frustration, problems, and pollution. It all started with big-farm scale farming, in this case hogs. Nobody can stand to be outside as it stinks so bad and years of trying to get the attention of a large-scale farming company to take them seriously and fix the problem have failed. Until some local residents banded together to fight for their quality of life. Aided in their fight by passionate and dedicated lawyers, who become like family they file suit against a very powerful company and won.
It is not a quick read as they are a lot of characters, details, and information. The story is well written and doesn't make the information presented confusing. It is an eye opening read.
