What a great start to this new series! The Duke and the Darkness pulled me in with the intriguing connection between Devlin and Peyton. From beginning to end, I was very involved with each little piece as it unfolded. Harrington wove a story with interesting characters, clever dialogue, quite a bit of steam, and a plot that needed to be solved. I especially enjoyed Peyton’s character being very fierce and strong.
And now we have Crewe’s story to look forward to next with enough information to hook a reader to want to know more. Me. I’m that reader. I can’t wait to read what’s next!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this book! Not only is it a sensual, romantic read the added action made this into a fast past character driven book that I could not put down. Ann Harrington not only has a way with making me fall head over heels for her characters but also a way to make me want more. While this is the end of the Lords Of The Armory I will be waiting with baited breath to see what adventure Harrington takes us on next!

This book had James Bond level intrigue mixed with House Wife level drama and scandals. I absolutely loved it.
The very first pages of this book had me hooked. And from there it what a rollercoaster of emotions and action. While I have loved all the installments of the Lords of the Armory series, this one felt a little different. It still had all the elements that I love (strong heroine, full range of emotions, actual plot, and desirable hero), but this novel felt more urgent. Maybe it was the idea of getting closer to ending Scepter (evil organization set on overthrowing the monarch and government), but I was flying through this book, devouring page after page.
Needless to say, highly recommend this book.

"A Remarkable Rogue" by Anna Harrington presents an intriguing premise with Captain Nate Reed tasked to hunt down the elusive Spectre, a group hell-bent on overthrowing the monarchy. The story unfolds with Spectre resorting to blackmail to manipulate members of high society into carrying out their nefarious deeds, casting suspicion on Baroness Sydney Rowland as their latest target.
The central theme of political intrigue and espionage promises a thrilling plot, but the book, unfortunately, falls short of fully capitalizing on this potential. While the immediate attraction between Nate and Sydney adds a touch of romance, their rocky start is somewhat clichéd. The relationship development between the two characters feels rushed and lacks depth, making it challenging to become emotionally invested in their journey towards a happily ever after.
Despite its interesting backdrop of espionage and potential for an engaging plot, "A Remarkable Rogue" struggles to deliver on its promise. The characters' connection and the resolution of the suspenseful elements leave much to be desired. The pacing, at times, feels uneven, and the book could benefit from a more thorough exploration of its characters and their motivations. While the story is not without its merits, it ultimately falls short of achieving a more captivating and fulfilling narrative. For readers seeking a lighthearted historical romance, "A Remarkable Rogue" may suffice, but it may not fully satisfy those expecting a more immersive and thrilling experience.

Sigh. This entire series is fabulous but the attraction burned so hot between Captain Reed and Widow Roland. Sceptor continues to be a threat and Reed knows how dangerous they are. Sydney is innocent but Sceptor has made it so she seems guilty. Reed is able to uncover the truth of her "crimes" but also uncovers more. He tries to stay away but when Sydney needs his help he cannot say no. Swoon! Read this series!

A fun romp of an adventure tied in with a spicy romance. I love the spy element and how our FMC was a 'criminal' with a heart of gold. As somebody who deeply enjoys the single parent trope this aTE!! I do think this could have been better because whilst the FMC had all this alleged depth, we didn't really go pasta. surface level. Overall I think it was fun but I think it can't be read without context to the rest of the series.

This was fine, but I needed it to be more romantic. I feel like this author just doesn't write in a style that I gravitate toward, so I think it is just a "me thing".

This was my first Harrington and I am excited to read more! The couple was fun and I think that is what will elevate my interactions with other Harringtons--the spying plot was less interesting over all.

Thank you to NetGalley for granting this ARC, and fast read. The plot was interesting and the story was steamy.

I adored Sydney and Nate's story! The chemistry between these two was red hot!!I just loved them together!

My first book of this author and I’m already hooked by her writing! Her characters are real, breathing people who come alive on the page and I felt their suffering and every emotions they felt. I loved the intriguing mystery and the action that beautifully complemented the love story. I also appreciated the keen assessment of the political views that motivated the characters. The lovemaking scenes are steamy, but packed full of emotion and I particularly loved Nate and his kindness and protectiveness. I’m following this series with great interest!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is one of my favorite books in the Lord of the Armory series, this is book 5 and Nate and Sydney's story did not disappoint. It has action and steam, Nate and Sydney have great chemistry. I enjoyed the story immensely, Anna never disappoints and highly recommend this book and series.

continuing part of the series Lords of the Armory, I enjoyed this next in the series. I want to go back and read the earlier books now

Sydney, our heroine, is brave and strong. She has huge secrets and needs some help at this point, a partner. Enter our hero, Nathaniel Reed. I love the mystery that is woven into this romance. It's always a recipe I prefer. Great love story!

I’ve bounced around with Harrington’s work but I have to admit the blurb dragged me in for this one. I love a delicious dose of mystery and intrigue with my historical romance and Spectre had plenty of that to offer in A Remarkable Rogue. The secret society tension translating into urgency within the romance… Truly, it was my favorite part of the book. Well, at least, when Nathaniel wasn’t shirtless and pouring water over his head. Yum.
As far as heroes go, Nathaniel Reed is a dream boat! He is sweet, protective, and just the right amount of savior complex to make him a compelling character. I’m not a big fan of the first love/marriage as an obstacle but I will forgive him if he just pours more water…
Sydney felt a little… bland in comparison? Outside of her interactions with Nathaniel, I have a hard time pinning her down. Adding in deceased lover, hateful and abusive deceased husband, and some (personally dreaded) secret child-angst? I just couldn’t get on board with Sydney which is a shame because I loved the feigned confidence in the beginning! Maybe she was truly brave. Or just doing things scared like the rest of us.
A Remarkable Rogue raced along a la runaway bride, the romance never getting a chance to settle into something deeply romantic for me. Typically, I don’t complain about fast pacing but in this instance it impacted my enjoyment. I probably wouldn’t have minded if I liked both characters, but I couldn’t really see the appeal of Sydney. I was miffed that Nathaniel was so hung up on her.
The intrigue kept me reading even when Sydney’s bravery pulled a vanishing act and had me gnashing at the teeth. I might have also been waiting for another thirsty scene with Nathaniel the entire book. Overall, this was a solid read even with the heroine not being my favorite.

The male lead was fabulous, however, the female was a bit hard to feel for and connect with. I would've like her to have a bit more personality. Other than that I absolutely loved the story.

A very middle of the road 3 star for me. There wasn't anything I hated, but nothing really to love either.
I didn't really love either character and the plot didn't keep me as interested as I think it was supposed to. It felt like they kept having the same conversation about trust and not wanting to share her secret (and stop asking her to!) and I just didn't really care.
I also am not a huge fan of the tropes of having a deceased spouse and child and that existed on both sides here. I haven't been invested in the secret society and blackmail plot line in either book I've read in this series so I think I'm done now.
If you like some intrigue and subplots of nefarious criminal activity, then you may really love this.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved this book! Sidney and Nathaniel were fantastic together. I loved that they both had trust issues that brought them closer together and made them a family.

Anna Harrington knows how to write a historical romance story that kept me engaged throughout the pages.
I loved the characters and their banter, I loved the suspenseful moments and they are quite a few in here and I adored their chemistry and intimacy scenes. All of them have created a perfect romance for my craving heart.
Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy
