Jamie and Victoria are expecting a baby and decide to spend a baby moon at a guesthouse. Victoria goes into early labor but they can't leave the guesthouse. This sets the scene for a very scary but thrilling read, because you keep on turning the pages! What happens during the birth and how the couple get out makes for compelling reading. Will read more of this talented author in future..

The Guest House by Robin Morgan-Bentley is a thriller about a couple that takes a weekend getaway. Jamie and Victoria travel to a guest house in the countryside to take a vacation since they are expecting their first child very soon. But once they get there, they realize that the owners of the home are more dangerous than they appear. This story was very far-fetched, and the twist was frustrating for me. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC! Fast read that was a bit predictable. It kept my interest and I finished it in two days. I rate it a 3.2.

The Guest House by Robin Morgan-Bentley was suspenseful and downright eerie at times. I especially loved the isolated setting of the book and the creeping feeling of unease Robin Morgan-Bentley managed to capture so well. I recommend this book but I do add the caveat that it could be triggering to some mothers, including those with rainbow babies.

I must say this is a fast paced, engaging thriller! The premise hooked me. Usually a little backstory is nice before we get pushed off the cliff as readers, but this dove right in which was meh for me. Unreliable narrators with a psychological suspense. Can you trust the narrators? The atmosphere of this book was creepy and I enjoyed that! I think for me at times, I got confused with the amount of characters and the pace of the plot. It seemed rushed at times and then it would immediately slow. Overall, a decent read!

I have to say that after seeing this book hyped on TikTok and Instagram, I was excited to read it. I loved the setting with the cottage in the country, but that was about it. For some reason, I just couldn't stand any of the characters. The story and what was happening just made me so mad that I found myself starting to skim through the book. I know that I am in the minority with not enjoying this one, but it just wasn't for me.

So this definitely hooked me from the start. Really suspenseful and dark. Definitely should come with a trigger warning. If you have lost a child, pregnancy didn’t come easy for you or anything in that realm, proceed with caution. I didn’t love the last 15% of the book and it went in a totally different direction than I was anticipating. Still suspenseful, and definitely couldn’t put it down.

Wow this book turned out to be so much more than I thought. This is a deep psychological thriller that immediately sucks you in to the characters and what they are going through. In fact, that was one of my favorite aspects of this story. Learning about the characters and their motiviations. Robin is such a fantastic writer, her descriptions of the characters and what they were going though made them feel like friends. You felt for them, you hurt when they hurt (or atleast I did) and you want to slap when they take those inevitable stupid choices in life. This is one of those stories where you know something is off with one of the couples but you aren't sure which one. It will keep you turning the pages and wanting more. I cant wait to read more by this author!

The setting of this book gives all the spooky vibes and is probably my favorite part of this read!

Our main characters are Jamie and Victoria who are expecting their first child and have decided to go on a last vacation before babys arrival to a remote bed and breakfast. Keep in mind - this place is super remote! There is nothing for miles and even the closest town is teeny, and there is no one else staying at this air bnb aside from the owners, Fiona and Barry. When they wake up the first morning, they're left their alone. The owners are gone, and all the windows and doors are locked from the outside. On top of this, their cell phones and car keys are missing (YIKES!). Victoria goes into labour - and they cannot get out of the house.

The story flips back and forth between her labour in the bed and breakfast and them at home a few months later, unfortunately without their son.

I read this book in a single afternoon - SO deliciously binge worthy. The more I've sat with this one - the more I liked it! The part of the book, the characters choices are definitely infuriating because I couldn't understand why they were making the decisions that they were, but I promise the ending and twists sum it up perfectly!
