John C. Maxwell’s book, “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” was helpful in refining my leadership skills while managing a large team in my position.
This book is everything you would expect out a business-minded growth book. Maxwell is an excellent author and motivating beyond words. If you are looking for a new read to inspire you and trigger your entrepreneurial side—this is it.
It is great to read the 25th anniversary edition of the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell. I read an old version of this book 16 years ago, and I can say that this updated version made the book more relevant today. The explanation and stories in this new edition takes into account the influence of social media, the COVID-19 pandemic, and other recent events within the context of leadership.
John Maxwell has updated his 21 Laws of Leadership for these times and truth is Good Leadership is timeless. This book is a good primer on who you have to be as a person to be a credible leader and how you have to act to be effective. It's important to understand that Maxwell comes at leadership not from a command and control perspective but more from the vantage point of servant leadership. Whether you are a new leader or an experienced veteran there's much to absorb in this book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for a candid review.

📚The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell a new revised and updated 25th Anniversary Edition.
This book was phenomenal. I learned so many great pieces of advice and tips on how to lead well. I was also encouraged in some of the things I was doing that are helping me be successful already.
I can't believe this is my first John C Maxwell book. It's jam packed, relatable , somewhat funny and totally worthy it. This is a must read for leaders and leaders to be. Everyone that wants to be a leader needs to read this book. Cannot recommend this book enough.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This is a must read for leaders and leaders to be. The book is definitely worth time invested and can support a very positive personal growth through educational stories on leadership. There are interesting aspects of leadership examples and situations that can help to reflect on own leadership capabilities and provide a good ground for growth and leadership qualities development.
Maxwell never fails to deliver great books with some incredible advice. I enjoy reading his books and applying his thoughts in my own life and professional career. Sometimes, I find his work to start off a bit slow, but in the end it's worth the read.
A beautiful look though how to utilize your inner light in life and how to make your life brighter. Pun intended. Highly recommend. Especially loved the reflection to true life to humanize my feelings and relate. I felt like this book was SPEAKING TO ME. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I had previously read this book as part of a graduate program. This new book doesn't contain any real "new" ideas from the original version. While majority of the information is helpful for any workplace, I'm not sure all the laws of leadership work with today's new business model which includes more working from home and not in an office with others.
Since I own the original, noon updated version, I was not completely blown away by the updated version. The update are mild, extra stories but I loved the original and it's a classic in its genre. There was not fantastic to make me think I needed to add the update version to my week loved worn and highly marked original. If you're a collector of Maxwell's books you might want one. Anyone that is highly familiar with his work will be fine with you original.
While I have heard of this book, this is the first time I've actually sat down to read it, and found it quite enlightening. This edition is the 25th Anniversary edition, and with that allows more improvements over the earlier editions. These include streamlining some of the book, adding some new laws, combining previous laws, and even updating stories told within the laws themselves. As I said before, this is my first time reading this book, and so I can't speak to whether or not it's better than before, but this version is a very well thought out version. Each law is understandable and the stories line up explaining his thoughts and views very well. And while there is this list of 21 different laws, even John Maxwell points out that no one does all 21 laws well. That's important, because I feel that I certainly have areas within this book to grow in, and quite honestly, some I never really thought about. I appreciate his transparency of what good leadership looks like, with his guidelines as well as real world leader examples, from Martin King Jr to Mahatma Ghandi, from Michael Jordan to Mother Theresa. From the McDonald brothers to Steve Jobs. Even from good examples and bad. Whether you are an experienced leader or a new leader. It certainly has something for everyone to learn from.
