A very interesting and informative book on how to deal with trauma, it taught me a lot.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
This is an excellent, informative, and very relatable book about dealing with trauma; how to process it, how to move past it, and how to grow because of it. While written for trauma survivors, it would be equally helpful for those who care about someone who has been traumatized.
Offering stories of her own survival as well as several others, the book presents a variety of situations from a "been there" perspective. Equally helpful is the detailed information she gives about several different types of healing modalities, many of which I'd never heard of before.
My copy is full of highlights and bookmarks, a testament to how helpful I found this book!
My thanks to Sounds True for allowing me to read an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley. The book is scheduled for publication 8/23/22. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and are freely given.
Holy cow is this one a must for anyone who has experienced trauma or in any kind of relationship with someone coping with trauma. Thoroughly researched and well-organized into categories that are easy to access and refer back to. I was gifted an electronic arc from Sounds True (publisher) and realize I need a physical copy to dog ear and write in. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and someone who has been in therapy most of my adult life, I learned alternate forms of therapy that I had not heard of before. How great is that?!
A genuinely brilliant guide to releasing your mind, soul and body from the effects of trauma. As a survivor myself, I found this book so useful and enlightening
Book review:
Trusting the Dawn is a book by Mary Firestone who explains very well her journey of trusting herself and coming out of trauma.
Trauma of any kind just shakes us from within when it comes to facing society and your close ones who at times don't let you to come out of it and kick you back in that mental condition of suffering and pain that hurt us badly.
Mary, the author herself faced different traumas at different stages of her life. She was supported by her family to come out of this mental condition and live a peaceful life like others. This is a book in which she put light on different ways to come out of traumatic condition.
Here the author has done lot of research work in finding different methods of coming out of trauma and has shared them precisely. Anyone can make the best use of this book and the given websites of different persons and psycologists for help in coming out of their truamatic conditions.
I loved reading this book and recommend this book for everyone to read atleast once as it shares such nice methods to recover yourself not only from trauma but also from stress that we face in our day to day life.
I am thankful to netgalley and sounds true for giving me a chance to read this book in return of an honest review.
