As always Tess Gerritsen is amazing! Listen to Me follows Jane and Barry as they try to being justice to a murdered nurse. Why would someone want to hurt this sweet lady? Angela tries to keep an eye on her neighbors but is someone keeping an eye on her? Who should she be with Vince or a Navy man? I can't wait for everyone to get their hands on the newest installment. Well worth the wait!

A new Rizzoli and Isles thriller after all these years?

I love this series, one of only six long running ten books plus series that I've continued with. From the first gritty killer thrillers of The Surgeon and The Apprentice, the series has developed and changed but Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are still great characters in consistently very entertaining books.

This could almost be 'Rizzoli, Isles and Rizzoli Senior', Angela, Jane's all-Italian-American Mom is a main character, with chapters from her perspective. A good nosy neighbour who knows all the streets' business. This could be seen as cosification, but it really works. I was quickly won over, after huffing and puffing that she should get her own series.

So Angela is sure she has her own case to interfere in, while Rizzoli is tracking down a killer, there's a intricately plotted murder mystery with plenty of twists right to the very end.

If you've followed the series this far, you'll really enjoy it. I would have like more of Isles (always my favourite), and more of Rizzoli and Isles' famous teamwork but this is a very entertaining book which I really enjoyed for what it is.

Another great read courtesy of Netgalley!

I love Rizzoli and Isles so I was super excited to see another one was going to be released. This wasn't the typical adventure you would expect - a lot less Isles and lot more mama Rizzoli.

We get the pleasure of three mysteries when Angela Rizzoli plays neighborhood watch and helps solve and save a couple lives, and puts her own in danger, when she gets a little too nosy. While trying to get her mom to stop calling constantly, Jane finds herself looking for clues that might tie two murders, 19 years apart, together.

I missed some of the traditional Jane & Maura banter and I missed more interaction with Jane & Gabriel, but overall, this mystery had me turning pages waiting to find out what happened next!

Usually when you love a TV adaptation of a book series, you are disappointed in the books themselves. That is not the case with Listen to Me.

This book can be read as a stand alone novel - you will not feel lost in understanding the characters without the previous books.

Two mysteries - one from Jane's point of view and one from Angela's point of view. Very detailed, fast paced book that quickly pulls the reader in.

Highly recommend this latest installment of Rizzoli & Ilses.

Every neighborhood has that one nosy neighbor who is watching everyone and in this book it is Angela. She is worried about the Greens who move in and can't stop watching them. This book will make you wonder what goes on behind closed doors.

Detective Rizolli has her hands full between trying to figure out who murdered Sofia Suarez and her moms meddling with the neighbors.

How far are you willing to go to protect your secret?

Just love the detective Rizolli series. Thank you Net Galley for my arc. #RizzoliIslesListentoMe #NetGalley

I LOVE the Rizzoli & Isles series and would love to have the TV series brought back. The newest book in the series, Listen to Me, did not disappoint, keeping the tradition of strong female leads front and center. I liked the varying view points between Jane, Maura and Angela to keep the storyline going.

The intertwining mysteries of murder, kidnaped child and witness protection all culminated in a wild ride of a conclusion.

The women stand out more than ever in this latest Rizzoli and Isles thriller. What's with that white van cruising the block? And the new neighbors who installed bars on the windows? Guess who's leading the neighborhood watch! Well paced, and leaves you guessing right up to the end. Tess Gerritsen doesn't disappoint.

This book is written with what seemed like two different stories in one. On one hand, we have the crime-solving detective and MA working on a big case. On the other side, we have a slightly annoying mother trying to solve problems in her own neighborhood and just stirring the pot.

The balance between the two situations seemed a bit off to me. It almost broke the concentration every time mother got involved but as the story continued you could feel where it was headed.

Interesting blends of situations allowed for the story to evolve into a series of twists and detours that made you stop and think. Not everything is at it seems and that is the beauty of a Gerritsen novel. Read between the lines for the true story.

A mixture of quirky characters, mystery, and crime-solving activities, not to mention a few laughs too. I wish there was a bit more of Maura in this story. It seemed very light and even a bit dry on her part and I enjoy her character the most.

Just like a visit from a old friend. I love this series and I’ve read every book.I’m so glad Angela got her spotlight.

Plots within plots!!

Jane and her partner Frost are investigating the murder of a nurse. It’s leading them in so many directions.

Angela has lived in her neighborhood for many years and when a new couple moves in she knows right off the bat something is not right.

If you see something, say something. We’ve all heard that advice so many times that whenever we find a suspicious package where it shouldn’t be, or notice a stranger lurking in the neighborhood, we automatically pay attention.

If only you knew, thought Maura. Icy Dr. Isles, Queen of the Dead, was merely a facade.

Maura is still her perfectionist self and with her love interest back in the picture full of secrets.

They smiled at each other, two unlikely lovers who should never have found each other. Who had tried to stay apart, tried to deny their need for each other, and had failed.

Please don’t wait five more years before the next book.

Rizzoli & Isles are back! And so is detective Jane Rizzoli's intrepid mother, Angela. Listen to Me is really Angela's story, as she investigates the mysteries in her suburban neighborhood.

Her daughter, the local precinct cops, even her cop-boyfriend won't listen to her theories about all the strange occurrences. They not-so-gently tell her to butt out, and stop spying on the neighbors. But when all the evidence is in, Angela knows they'll finally have to listen to her. Maybe Jane Rizzoli got her instincts from her mother! Highly recommended. #ListenToMe #NetGalley #SaltMarshAuthors

I’m a big fan of the Rizzoli & Isles television series that used to air on TNT and now is available in syndication and on DVD. In fact, I have every season on DVD. Yet, I never have read any of the books this television series was based on. I have read Tess Gerritsen’s work before, but nothing from the Rizzoli & Isles series. When I was offered the opportunity to review Rizzoli & Isles: Listen to Me, I decided now was the time to start.
Boston Homicide Detectives Rizzoli and Frost, with the help of Medical Examiner Maura Isles, are investigating the seemingly senseless murder of Sofia Suarez. A well-loved widow and nurse, Sofia didn’t appear to have any enemies and the only things missing from Sofia’s apartment are her laptop and her cellphone. This could be a murder of convenience…a burglar caught in the middle of his/her crime by the homeowner. But where was the blunt object that was used to kill her…and why keep striking her. She was already knocked to the floor. The burglar could have escaped easily. Instead, they followed her and kept beating her over the head until she was dead. The investigation leads the team to discover that Sofia was making phone calls to people that she knew at her former hospital, in a town where a young woman was murdered, and her child abducted. What did Sofia learn that was worth murdering her over.
Meanwhile, Jane’s mother is caught in a mystery of her own. Angela’s boyfriend, retired Boston police officer Vincent, is away helping his sister recover from surgery. With Vincent away, Angela begins to focus more on the neighborhood she has lived in since she married her ex-husband. A new neighbor has moved in across the street, a couple that doesn’t appear to want any interaction with their neighbors, especially Angela. Of course, Angela finds this suspicious, especially when one of the neighbor’s children goes missing. Angela tries to bring the strange things she has been noticing to the local police department, but they don’t find her suspicions worth looking into, so of course, Angela goes to her daughter for help. Unfortunately, Jane is so wrapped up in her own case, she isn’t really listening to her mother and her nosey neighbor observations.
Listen to Me is the latest book in the series. There are quite a few books before this and I worried that I might be a tad lost joining things this far in, but I shouldn’t have. The author doesn’t just assume that you already know the characters. She gives you little bits and pieces of information about them throughout, so if this is your introduction to Rizzoli & Isles, you won’t be lost at all. Sure, the characters are a bit different from the television series, but one character is the same in both – Angela. I actually started smiling when Angela appeared in the book. She’s the same quirky, fun, nosey character I remember from the television series and it isn’t surprising that she would be spying on her new neighbor…especially one that was doing his very best to avoid her at all costs.
I loved that there wasn’t just one mystery going on in this novel. Jane, Frost and Maura had the mystery of Sofia’s murder to solve, while Angela had the new neighbors and the missing teenager to wonder about. And we, the reader, were brought along for the ride, solving the mysteries along with our favorite characters. Tess Gerritsen’s writing is so descriptive, you can picture the characters and the situations they find themselves in your mind’s eye perfectly. Often times, just when you think you have things figured out, you are thrown for a loop by what is actually taking place. For instance, I thought I had the new neighbor figured out, but the reason the teen was missing threw me for a loop. And Sofia’s murderer? I was completely thrown by that one!
Listen to Me is a terrific read – fast and completely engaging. In fact, it has inspired me to read all of the Rizzoli & Isles books I have missed. Definitely a must read for Rizzoli & Isles fans and a good place to start for those who have never read any of the books in the series.

How wonderful it was to be back in the world of Rizzoli and Isles. It was like reuniting with old friends. And I loved how much Angela was featured in the story. She played a big part in this one. Her voice was fun and refreshing.

The central murder case was interesting and kept me guessing. I didn't figure it out until very close to the end. I was invested in the story from the beginning, and never felt my interest wane. I enjoyed the drama on Angela's street more than the primary mystery, simply because of Angela herself. Now I want to go back and reread the entire series. Fans of the series will love this one.

I received a free copy from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

THANK YOU so much NetGalley and the publisher for this advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

I’m not sure if I can say it louder, but Tess Gerritsen is one of my favorites and she’s an auto-buy/auto-read for me. Whatever she’s writing, I’m reading. This is the latest installment in the Rizzoli & Isles series, and technically you can read each as a standalone, but reading all of them really helps to develop the characters and you learn to love them.

Gerritsen’s thrillers always have a twist to them, and typically I can half figure them out - maybe something isn’t what it seems or I KNOW something is fishy but I just can’t put my finger on it. That was no different for this title, and the suspense really builds as you get through it!

Overall, Gerritsen remains one of the best with this wonderful friendship between Jane and Maura - I can’t wait for the next one. Thank you again NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Although I loved having another Rizzoli and Isles book to enjoy, Listen to Me was a bit of let down. I enjoyed the familiar characters, the investigation, and even the "twist" ( I did see where it was going a quarter into reading the book, but it was enjoyable nonetheless).
However, my rating is one star less than where I would like to rate it due to .....Angela.

Half of the book was from Angela Rizzoli's perspective and it was unnecessary to say the least. It was annoying and unnecessary and did nothing but slow down the pace of the novel.

Thanks to NetGalley, I am honored to have had the opportunity to read Listen to Me before its release date in July. Unfortunately, it's bittersweet, because now I find myself in a reading slump after consuming the entire Rizzoli and Isles series this year. I hope that there will be more books to come in a couple of years!

So awesome to have the girls back! This story was fast paced and fantastic! A young college girl in an accident, a number of break ins, in the same neighborhood, Angela (Jane's mom) is her same wild self....the race, the adrenaline and the anxiousness are all there. Loved it! @NetGalley@TransworldDigital@Rizzoli&IllesListenToMe

What an apt title for this new installment in the Rizzoli and Isles series!

Listen To Me is what Julianne has been and continues to say throughout this book in order to keep her Amy safe. Are her words and actions all about safeguarding her daughter and family, or is there more to it? Eventually, Jane is able to answer that question.

It is also what Angela repeatedly says to Jane when she sees events in her neighborhood that aren’t just odd, but quickly escalate to something more sinister.

It is also what the bodies Maura examines seem to say to her. If she listens closely she is able to put Jane on the path to solving homicides.

In this case, Angela trips Jane’s mind and sets in motion the final solution to the murder of Nurse Sousa. This brings another R & I mystery to conclusion.

Thank you, Net Galley for a great read.

I received book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Two mysteries and one hidden connection. Rizzoli is tasked with figuring why a nurse was killed and a young lady is being stalked. Are they connected or just a coincidence?. Great story and as usual a good mix or suspense and humor.

Tess Gerritsen is among my favorite author list, so I jumped at the chance to read and review the book from #NetGalley and #Random House Publishing. This book is outstanding! I loved how she wove three different storylines into one incredible book. I could envision so many details and could hear the music in my mind. Dr. Isles has always been a favorite character of mine, and I was glad to see her expand her repertoire of accomplishments. Jane's mom also has a special spot in my heart. This is such a great book!

While the switching POVs were a little off putting at times, Tess Gerritsen's latest in the Rizzoli & Isles series hits all the marks for a page-turning crime mystery. The storyline was great, particularly all the twists and turns of neighborhood drama that Angela gets into. Though, while I love me some Angela Rizzoli, I did miss the back and forth of Jane and Maura I've come to expect from this series. And I definitely didn't see the last chapter coming!
