This book was enjoyable and fun to read! I liked the way the plot was written.
Will read from this author again
This audiobook takes you on an emotional roller coaster from start to finish.
What starts off with a light, almost “hallmark” vibe, quickly descends into a chilling psychological thriller.
This is a gripping tale filled with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The audiobook, narrated by Stephanie Cannon, is masterfully done—her voice is light and expressive, shifting effortlessly between sweetness and intensity.
Though the story’s dark subject matter makes it hard to call a "light" listen, it’s incredibly compelling and hard to turn off.
4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨Psychological Thriller
✨ Emotionally abusive
✨ Fast Paced
✨‼️‼️ death of child
✨ The story is written on a third person view.
May trigger lots of readers who doesn’t like to talk about child death. Lots of abusive / mentally draining / narcissistic trait of the guy here .
✨ Written beautifully showing how to handle to get out of the situation but stuck at some point because of the past . Fast paced with only 309 pages . Ending was abit rush but very twisty .
✨ Thankyou @bookouture for the arc copy of this book for a honest review.

Oh how I love a good, twisted domestic suspense story! I listened to this on audiobook and I enjoyed the narration very much! I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to listen to and review this audiobook.
Clever, detailed and very tense. The twists keep coming and worth the wait. Love the web of deceit set up by Carey.
This is a domestic thriller with one of the most despicable characters I have ever encountered. The decisions made by some of the characters were frustrating and lead to interesting twists. This thriller is fast paced and kept me entertained. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my audiobook.
This audiobook is packed full of suspense and hard to pause! It's fast paced and emotional with a fantastically fierce main character in Holly.
The twists were amazing and plentiful. Just when you think you have it all figured it all out there's not one but two shocking twists. After a few of these amazing twists I just stopped predicting and jumped on the roller coaster for a thrilling ride.
This was a very well written domestic thriller that takes you deep into a highly dysfunctional relationship. I highly recommend listening to this flawlessly written and sensationally narrated roller coaster of a ride audiobook!

Audio version of this book 📚- An interesting listen that had a great twist at the end that I didn’t see coming at all. The narrator was easy to listen too and brought the characters to life
So many secrets. This is a definite page turner for me to see what was going to happen next. This was quick paced and I was hooked from the beginning. I look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you NetGalley for the audio eARC.
Overall, I thought this was a pretty good, fast moving domestic thriller that offers plenty of surprises along the way to keep your mind reeling. While the characters are both infuriating and naive, the plot and the twists kept me entertained and I really liked how this was set up. I didn't fully love the ending and thought it was a bit weak and predictable, but I thought it was also fitting in the end for this couple. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow what a fantastic thriller this book gripped me from the very start. There are so many twists and turns throughout this book. It was so good that you just couldn't predict how it was going to end. I listened to the audiobook and I liked the narrator straight away. I loved her voice and she created a brilliant sense of atmosphere and tension. This book has such a wonderful storyline that I became so engrossed in this novel. I had to binge read it as I couldn't wait to find out how it was going to end. I love thrillers like this one that have you on the edge of your seat throughout. This author is very clever and I definitely admire the tension and atmosphere that was created in this story. I loved it that you think you know whats going to happen next and then shocked as your hit with another twist that will blow your mind. The characters are brilliant and I connected with them from the start. I really felt like I knew them. But did I really? I have to mention how wow amazing the ending was I'm positive your just going to love it. This author is definitely one to watch and this book will definitely become a bestseller. Thank you to the author and publishers for creating such a mind blowing thriller. I really can't wait to read more books from this stunning author.

This book was very interesting and fast-paced, the author held my attention and the narrator was very appealing. I would recommend this book to friends.
I had to really push through the first third of this book. I hate meaningless detail in a story so when the book began explaining the affluent designer lifestyle the two horrible main characters led (including designer brands and even supermarket shopping) I was very close to noping out of there. In my opinion if you need to spell it out over multiple pages you're not doing it right. Yes I'm a crotchety book troll but I need authors to understand that less is more. Show me the expensive looking cushion that gets tossed off their bed at night - DON'T spend 10 pages detailing the contents of their walk-in-wardrobe filled with luxury brands with the tags still on.
When I finally broke through I was finding time to read whenever I could, it really sucked me in quickly and for a while there I had so many questions I just couldn't put it down.
Then the plot took some interesting turns but I had to suspend all belief when all was revealed. I will say it was shocking, climactic and to my mind, a bit shlocky, but it kept me transfixed.
If you're thinking of diving in make sure you're comfortable with the trigger warnings - it has an intense portrayal of emotional and physical abuse in a relationship and a character with narcissistic tendencies.

This was a good book. A nice thriller with a few twists. It wraps up nicely at the end as well. Zach and Holly appear to be the perfect couple on the surface, but Zach is a controlling narcissist. Secrets fill their marriage and bind them together making Holly feel trapped. Add in the birth of a new child and Holly is hopeless. Or is she?
I hated Zach and I loved Holly, which was probably what the author was looking for. The way he gaslighted her felt authentic. She was an emotionally battered woman. The story played out well and the twists at the end we fairly unpredictable. It was a pretty common storyline, but it was still a good book.
The audio was okay. I despised the narrator's voice for Zach, but it worked as it made him sound as sociopathic as he was. I would give this book 3.75 stars.
I had high hopes for this one, and on the whole I wasn't disappointed.
Zach was a horrendous character, so hats off to Baldwin for making him so detestable. His gaslighting of his wife was just awful and really got my blood boiling!
I did find the story wane a little but then when Zach gets suspected of a woman's murder, this book goes places! I wish Holly could have had more of a backbone though, she was infuriating to me at times.
But that ending! Worth it.
This is definitely a book with some psychological aspects to it - and it absolutely has a twist that I did not see coming!
Holly is happily married to Zach who is a very successful and respected doctor. Of course, appearances are not always what they seem. My guess would be that Holly will have every reader in her corner. Her patience is absolutely necessary, and I applaud how she is able to stay the course. Her group of friends definitely show how important those bonds are when times are hard.
I love how the book ended with more than one surprising twist thrown in! Baldwin has written a story that I think a large majority of readers will enjoy! Grab your copy today!
Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio, and Carey Baldwin for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review!
This book is over-the-top in a mostly good way. It’s basically bad guy porn. If feeling a little “over it” with men, this book could very well be your jam. Our main male character is really, truly, and unrepentantly evil through and through. He is essentially a mustache-twirling bad guy, and it’s very easy to love hating him.
The ending was one big, long, sustained WTF moment. I’ve read quite a few domestic thrillers and for me, the turbo-charged unabashed off-the-rails craziness of the ending jumped this particular shark out of 2 to 3 star part of the pool, and all the way up into 4 star territory for me. This book won’t be to everyone’s taste, but for domestic thriller fans, I feel like this is a solid choice and well-worth reading.
I listened to the audio edition; the narration sounded fine to me if not particular remarkable. That’s actually way better than notably grating or horrible accents, so yes. Solid audio performance too.
In the beginning I was sure this was another one of those bad husband/unsuspecting wife books that seem to be everywhere these days. This is that for sure, don't be fooled, but it is also more than that. There are some twists, some red herrings, and some interesting changes that take place that caused me to really like this book; far more than I predicted I would when I started it. The pace is quick and the characters are just developed enough that you know them a little and still care about them, or don't depending... All in all I recommend this book to anyone that is looking for an escape on their commute or passing the time on a road trip. Or anyone really, it's a pretty good mystery.
I love a good suspense novel but this one felt entirely too predictable. From the second the husband became overbearing I knew what would be happening, and the book turned boring for me.
This one started out really good and pulled me straight in to it. However, around 2/3 of the way in it just all started to fall a bit flat for me. I like the characters though and was invested in the story.
