This book did not live up to the expectations that we had for it. It started out well enough but we found that the information was a bit hard to understand and the focus was on just a few main points. We had hoped it would have been more useful.

A good introduction to Ayurveda and how to apply it to your life. I enjoy reading about alternative medicine and will recommend this book to library patrons looking for a good overview of Ayurveda

I learned so much from The Seven Ways of Ayurveda. This book explains Ayurveda in simple terms. You can find out your dosha and what that means. Ways to stay in balance or acquire balance are also explained. Learn about your health and personality using ancient wisdom. I recommend this book for beginners wanting to learn about the practice.

What I most appreciate about Sarah Kucera's The Seven Ways of Ayurveda: Discover Your Dosha, Tap Into Your Strengths, and Thrive in Work, Love, and Life (The Experiment, 2022) is her emphasis on the positive aspects of each dosha. Although she dives into the shadow sides of each doshic personality, Kucera still highlights a strengths-based perspective, which I have often found missing in similarly themed coursework and titles.

While Ayurveda is an ancient tradition, Kucera illuminates how the elements that comprise our natural world (ether/space, water, earth, fire, air) are also the core components of our own doshas. She also addresses how our individual doshas are relevant to contemporary life.

Readers of self-help, yoga, holistic and healing books, as well as traditional Chinese medicine titles should find this a good addition to their library. Also, fans of Gretchen Rubin, particularly The Four Tendencies: The Indispensable Personality Profiles That Reveal How to Make Your Life Better, Byron Katie (especially her work on self-inquiry), and books on the enneagram might also enjoy the personality "profiling" that Sarah Kucera gently, and generously, offers in The Seven Ways of Ayurveda.

This book is a nice introduction to Ayurveda. It helps the reader identify which dosha or combination of doshas makes up their personality. Your dosha is a combination of elements that is the essence of your true self. Once you determine your dosha, there is lots of useful information in regards to how to use those strengths in work, love, and life. The author states at the beginning of the book that this is only a cursory examination of Ayurveda. There is so much information in this book about the different combinations of doshas and how they relate to life. It was almost too much information. Once I identified my dosha, I read only the parts of the book related to it. I guess the next step would be to find a book about that dosha and go from there.

This book is recommended for anyone with little or no knowledge of Ayurveda. This introductory book is easy to understand and will help the reader discover their dosha or doshas. It was easy for me to identify my dosha with this book and I look forward to further reading on the subject. Thank you to NetGalley and The Experiment for the arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Net Galley and The Experiment for the advance galley of The Seven Ways of Ayurveda. Before reading this book, I had not heard of Ayurveda. I was intrigued by the cover and the chance to explore a new way of thinking about health, wellness, and spirituality. This book is a comprehensive dive into Ayurveda and its doshas. Ayureveda is an ancient medicine teaching from India based on the cyclical nature of the natural world. Doshas are defined as elements that make us who we are, and natural elements make up doshas. There are seven dochas discussed in detail along with how they can affect your life, love and work. Several exercises are providing to help you discover your unique combination of doschas and how to then use them to live a more fulfilling life.
Although I felt this book was well written, it was too in depth for my casual interest in the concept. I think it would be a wonderful read for anyone that wants to have a deep exploration of Ayurveda.

This book was a bit over my head. While I feel like the information that was in it could be truly helpful, I dont feel I am well versed in this area of life to give a good review. However, the book was well articulated and gives a good overview and in depth look at Ayurveda, I found as I was reading it that it did not keep my attention. However, I felt that was my own lack of personal interest vs. the quality of the writing.
