A cute, beachy read. I had fun reading about Lucy and her family. Does she find love in the end? Read it to find out! Five stars!
Well that wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be when I started the book. Decent enough storyline with a few moments where you LOL at what the characters were up to and characters that you could get into. A good book for lounging by the pool or snugged up on the sofa with a glass of wine.
I kept checking for the release of this after reading the first part and it ending on a cliff-hanger, and I really wasn't disappointed.
It's a great will they won't they read, while following lots of different story threads and characters that relate to the main character Ella.
I loved that it addressed lots of different family dynamics and relationships. It felt all the more real and believable for being a little out of the ordinary and really drew you into the story.
There were plenty of funny moments scattered through to keep you chuckling and making this a real feel good read. I particularly loved pirate the cat and how his little character really came to life on the pages. Another gorgeous read from Bella Osbourne!
Ella, Lucy, and Brittany- three friends and a wedding (or more?). Ella works for the hateful Wanda fitting other women's dresses while Lucy is a divorce attorney who is logically a bit cynical about marriage. And then there's Brittany. Ella finds new love and the three women realize how strong they are. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's light. it's a bit fluffy, but it's perfect for a day at the beach.
I'll be sharing my full review on the blog tour but this was another one of Bella's books that I enjoyed.
Despite the bridezilla's and bullies, this was an uplifting read, about being brave and making changes to find your own happiness.
I'll be happy to recommend it.
The story's of Ella and her best friend Lucy. Both single at the start of the book, but will they find love as they meet new men?
This book is different than other romance novels I’ve read. Would maybe categorize it as more “women’s fiction” than “romcom”, although there were still quite a few funny parts to it. It was originally published as a series of four, but was compiled into one for this book. Flowed really well though.
The main story was about Ella, but there were also storylines about her friends Lucy and Brittany, as well as some additional secondary characters. I guess I might compare it to the movie Love Actually, which had so many different storylines, but were all connected somehow. It was a quick read for me, and I really enjoyed it.
This was a wonderfully uplifting read, primarily about seamstress Ella who puts everyone else first and doesn’t stand up for herself be it in relationships or at work; but also about her friend Lucy, a divorce lawyer who doesn’t do relationships. There’s a lot of sparkle and mischief in this book with a mix of brides and problems with parents, Ella’s boss was a nightmare and one of the divorces Lucy was handling escalates to unexpected levels. The characters are fabulous and there’s plenty going on but it’s still a very relaxing read in a lovely quiet seaside resort. 9/10
A very easy read, typical light romance but a slightly stilted writing style in my opinion. There is no real stand out character, though Lucy's mum, and Aunt Rita are very funny.
I initially read this book in 4 parts, as each one was issued. It is a good, light read filled with humour, some strange characters, lots of fun and of course lots of misunderstandings and romance.
This is the full book of the Wedding at Sandy cover instalments. I have loved this series and it's great to have the whole book in one volume.
It's a lovely collection of friendships, romance, tricky relationships. family dynamics amidst a wedding alteration business finding it's wings and Ella, the owner , finding her confidence.
Definately one to add to your tbr list.
It's always a pleasure to sit down and read a Bella Osborne novel, and this was no exception. This was an absolute joy to read, it had drama, it had danger, it had a rodent, plenty of humour and it has romance.
Unsurprisingly this book also contains brides, given that Ella alters wedding dresses so that they fit brides. She is also a bit of a doormat, but once that has been pointed out to her, I loved seeing Ella grow balls (figuratively speaking!).
I also really loved her and Kit's dilemma, and how they go about it, plus how it all gets resolved!
Actually I just loved Kit and most of the characters, except for an ex, one of the brides, and Ella's boss Wanda who is a nasty piece of work.
We also get chapters focusing on Lucy, who is a divorce lawyer who is rather cynical about love, but is still being a bridesmaid for their best friend Brittany's wedding. What really caught my attention was the case she is working on, that got under my skin and I really cared about the details of that family.
This was just a glorious read that I devoured in a couple of afternoons in the garden. I was able to lose myself in the story, and really enjoyed all aspects of it. Another fabulous book from Bella Osborne.
Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily,
What a wonderfully delightful book this was! Ella is a seamstress in a bridal shop, although with the state of her love life it’s unlikely she’ll be making her own wedding dress. That is until she meets Kit! They have a lot more in common than what you first realise and, although it does look like there won’t be any love on the cards, they do end up spending a lot of time together where they work out a plan for their family problems.
I love Ella’s character! She’s not just a lovely, sweet character, she has lots of skills and talents involving a sewing needle, a roll of lace and a bag of sequins! The bridal shop sounds like the perfect place for her, if only it wasn’t for her dragon of a boss, Wanda. We assume Ella’s dreams and ambitions for the future will never happen, but the author holds us in suspense for the beginning part of the book as to whether Ella will become her own boss. I also loved Ella’s relationship with Kit. I won’t spoil the story as to who Kit is, but it’s safe to say that him and Ella share a common bond, and they need to work together to solve it! Kit does have his own problems though which do seem to hinder any chance of a relationship with Ella, but problems aside he does seem like one of the genuine good guys!
The book flows at a wonderful pace and is jam packed full of fun and laughs. This author is so clever with her writing, throwing in lots of light-hearted moments, emotional scenes and parts which will have you laughing out loud! She manages to hold your attention throughout with some great characters, a fabulous location and the images of wedding dresses to die for (although some were just plain odd!). I know that when I start a book by this author I will be in for such a treat and completely hooked for a day or two! Filled with lots of love, family and friendships, this book is truly a delight to read! Would definitely recommend!
You cannot go wrong with a Bella Osborne read!
Ella always the bridesmaid never the bride, who also works in a wedding dress shop with awful boss Wanda decides to set up on her own with the lovely Kit doing the renovations.
Bella Osborne always bring the fun elements to any book and I was in tears of laughter especially at the hen do!
A fab summer read.
